Our lives are in our hands-II

30.05.09

As it became dark in the evening and the forest was dense, he was unable to find his way back. He became nervous and worried. With an intense prayer in his heart, he began to call Lord Shiva. After about half an hour or so, in that quiet and peaceful environment, he heard some footsteps, after which  he saw a sannyasi, an ascetic in ochre clothes standing next to him smiling gently.  He was carrying a bowl and was holding a staff and  wearing wooden sandals. The sannyasi was very fair and tall and  his body emitted  golden glow. Furthermore, his face beamed extraordinary peace and serenity and he had a sort of magnetic enchantment inducing towards him.

Presuming him to be a realised mahayogi, he knelt down humbly at his feet. The sannyasi glanced at him with a questioning gesture. Shivendra understood this and spoke, “Maharaj, I have lost my way. Since the past three hours, I am searching my way. Can you please show me the path?”

Hearing this, the sannyasi began to laugh loudly scaring Shivendra profusely.

“My son, which path have you lost? I only know one path and that path leads man to progress. Do you want that path of life?”

Shivendra nodded his head in affirmation. The sannyasi made Shivendra sit beside him on a huge  rock. For three to four hours, he had a fruitful conversation with Shivendra. During that period, his mind and body were at complete rest and he became very attentive. He perceived and understood what was the underlying  existing cause behind this entire universe.  He was given the sacred knowledge of liberation. The ‘beej’ (seed) of the ‘sansara’ (sensory world)  is Brahma (Atman) he was told. The sannyasi also explained to Shivendra the difference between a good and an evil man, a friend and a foe and how to discriminate between the two.

They spent a considerable time in mutual company and he was a recipient of a great treasure of knowledge and Shivendra got profound joy and satisfaction in it. With a lot of love, the sannyasi said, “My dear son, whatever I have told you never forget it. Whenever a good man comes to you show him the path of brotherhood and mankind. Give love to all. Instil their lives with peace, faith, happiness and progress and make their lives abundant. The more people you reach out, the better it will be.”

He further added, Do not discriminate between people on the basis of country, religion, caste or creed. Follow only the religion of brotherhood of mankind.” After saying this he again repeated, “Will you lose your way now?” Lovingly he patted his back and before he asked for his leave, Shivendra asked his name. He replied, “Kandhari.”

How to make your life extra ordinary from ordinary?

01.11.09

With these bright and enriching thoughts, let me now proceed to reveal and talk about what Holy Swami Shaligram, the foremost disciple of Swami Nityananda of Ganeshpuri has told us in order to make our lives extra ordinary in  many ways. He said-

Believe in your destiny  Don’t doubt your destiny which is a very big force which we carry in an embryonic state within us. Whatever we are supposed to have or get in life in future, we will definitely get and acquire in a fixed course of time. So why lose hope and have doubts in our power, abilities, or capacity to do something? Instead put all your energy and focus on achieving what you desire for.

Now why do all genuine saints ask us to believe in our destiny, one may ask or at least the atheists may ask me.

Confidence in your destiny gives you sense of satisfaction and contentment or else feelings of discontentment, jealousy and hopelessness are nursed. If you have a firm belief that whatever life has pre-decided to bestow on me, I will surely get one day, no one can take that away from me, you will have no fears or concerns and will never be overwhelmed by mental worries and anxiety. On the contrary we are sure to stay calm and we will move towards our set goals. Lord Krishna was destined to become the king of Mathura, no matter how many attempts were made by Kansa to kill Him but he was unsuccessful in his wicked attempts.

When your time comes to get bestowed what is due to you, circumstances automatically become favourable. Try to see at present whether the forces are against you or in your favour. If they are unfavourable try harder, intensify your efforts leave no stone unturned, you will achieve your goals. Knock every door until the opportunity arrives and knocks your door. And even if after trying nothing works then-

Have patience Cultivate patience, not little but a lot of it. Extra ordinary people are blessed with this great quality. Believe in yourself that you will be able to achieve what you have set your goals for but that will take time. Until that manifests, you must put up with every effort and that too very consistently. We tend to forget that when we do not achieve results after making many attempts at something, only patience helps.

In normal circumstances, what we do is try to do a bit of something then lose hope and eventually give up. For some results we have to work harder as it takes longer than normal to get desired results. So be it!! Achieve your aims and goals with untiring patience.

Lord Rama never gave up and had unending patience when he set out to find his abducted wife, his beloved consort, Seeta. He searched for her everywhere in the forest and in plains. And being the king of Ayodhya, he did not hesitate to ask for help from anyone whether they were animate or inanimate, high or low, rich or poor, known or unknown. He worshipped the sands of seashore of Indian Ocean and also to Lord Shiva after the battle in Lanka until he achieved what he had set for!! So

Be persistent  Whenever I think of persistence, I think of ants. Ants never give up and they carry such big loads on their head and to me they never seem to be getting tired of doing the same job all their lives. When they walk up, they fall umpteen times. They never say that it’s not possible to reach my destination because I keep falling. Instead, they create their own path and walk on it. You try stopping an ant that is carrying a grain of sugar up the hill you will understand what I am saying. It will never stop and instead it moves in another direction and keeps moving up. If there are people who are blocking your path, don’t complain, cry or sulk, just carve out a new path and walk in a new direction. Carve out your new destiny by being very persistent in your efforts. Persistence really pays. No matter how long it takes to get results, months or years, put in your efforts on a regular basis until you get what you want in life, it could be physical, material or spiritual in nature. To make our lives better and progressive, material gains are also needed.

Be determined By being determined, we remain focused in our endeavours. If you are determined, you will become fearless. Determined people are afraid of nothing, not even death. They face everything that comes in front of them; they address it and move on. There are going to be problems in between, there will be short periods of darkness, you may sometimes feel hopeless but it does not matter. Be determined and rise once more and do not rest until you have achieved what you had set out for. There are many people out there who have set up their big business houses, companies, ventures and other establishments who had no help whatsoever but they were determined to pursue to follow and chase their dreams and goals. Great athletes and sportsmen, mountaineers, climbers, freedom fighters are also people with extra ordinary determination and therefore achieve extra ordinary feats.

Control your mind and speech People who have regulated speech can control their mind easily. Our speech should be full of meaning and worth. Senseless words, senseless talking and senseless thinking depletes our energy and stops us from exploring our optimum potential. Learn to conserve energy by talking less and thinking more. A lot of energy is wasted in worthless conversation for the heck of it. Limited talking will give us more time to contemplate and meditate.

A scattered and restless mind can never achieve anything big and extra-ordinary. Try to meditate to make the mind calm, strong , powerful and dynamic to achieve whatever you want to achieve and pursue an enriching, enhanced and superior life. To extrapolate and break all limitations of mind and body, be conservative in talking and do not spend your precious energy in fruitless interactions with people. Save time for yourself to nurture, conserve and mould your life in extraordinary ways. People who speak less and meaningfully have the power to have an impact and can change other people’s life in many areas. So control your mind and control your speech. They both are interrelated.

Be courageous  If you look at the life of Panchali, she was one woman who was very courageous. She did not fear anything and always spoke the truth without any hesitation. She was bold enough to tell Bhishmapitamaha, the seniormost member and head of the entire lineage, that he had no business to be called Pitamaha and the caretaker of Hastinapur if he did not have the courage to stop the Kauravas from insulting and disrobing her in public. She had the courage to go bemoaning to Dhritrashtra and tell him that as he had kept mum during such an ill-omened hour, ominous fate would fall on the next generations of Kauravas. She feared nobody in the huge hall where there were only men and no woman to be at her side at such a critical time.

She also decided to be on the battle field for those 18 long days at Kurukshetra till the war was over to see to it that no Kaurava survives the wrath that they had called upon themselves by their own misdeeds. In the camp, she would nurse the soldiers and falling kings to the ground. She saw the gory of death and destruction and waited for Pandavas to bring the war to an end.

After the war, like Pandavas, she too  relinquished Hastinapur and chose the cold and arduous Himalayas to bring the chapter of her life to a close. All along, she chose to be with the Pandavas uptil Swarag Rohini peak, near Alaknanda river in the mighty Himalayas, next to today’s Badrinath temple where one by one, the Pandavas laid down their lives willingly as repentence and penance for the war they had fought so unwillingly!!  History pays tribute to that bold and courageous woman even today.

Women can achieve and accomplish anything and make their lives extra ordinary if they want to,  provided they possess or cultivate  boldness, courage, forthrightness and fortitude. So cultivate that and fear nothing in life.

Judge your life by its quality It is in our nature to judge ourselves by comparing ourselves with someone else who has ‘become something’ or seems to have achieved much more than us in terms of success and material gains.

But my dear child, I do not view and judge myself on this criteria. This is not the bench mark for me to judge people. I agree that there are many people whom I know are much more successful and are wealthier than I am in terms of career, success and wealth. Good for them!! I am not missing out on anything, I am very positive about it. On the contrary, I consider myself to be more fortunate than all others because I am able to connect to God anytime I wish to, I have my own contacts and connections!!! Do they have that?

I have peace in my life. Do they have peace of mind?

I have joy in my life. Do those people have joy in their life or are they in delusion and misery of some kind?

I have contentment and satisfaction. Do the very rich and visibly famous have contentment or do they crave for more?

I have unshakeable faith in God. Faith that has helped me to navigate in the darkest hours of my life. Do you have sufficient faith and believe in God and his mercy and Grace?

And if yes, then you are a blessed one and a chosen one!!

Judge yourself and your life by the quality of life’ that you are leading and not by the amount of material you are consuming, not by accumulating heaps and heaps of notes, gold and silver, owning estates, or if you have 200 people working under you. Think!!! Change your definition of rich, beautiful and successful.

Only a true spiritual man is happy and successful in life. Someone who has understood the mystery of life, someone who has solved his complex human mind problems with the help of deep connection with the Almighty God, who has understood that this world is a temporary residence where we are supposed to give more than we take, who never looks back and does not even count his innumerable good karmas. Someone who is always rejoicing without getting any gain or success, someone who forgives all in spite of their ill temper and behaviour and someone who loves to pray and talk to god is a blessed soul. Such a person is extra ordinary, he is special, his life becomes extra ordinary.

So judge your life and yourself on this criteria and now make your life extra ordinary. It is not the number of years that we live, but the quality of life that we spend here. At this moment while explaining, I remember Abhimanyu, the star of Mahabharat. He was barely 16 years old when he died an unfortunate and tragic death in the hands of capricious and  wicked Kauravas. But he did a spectacular job by tilting the fate of the war. He helped the Pandavas in the war by not allowing Dronacharya, who had vowed to kill Yudhisthir after the death of Bhishmapitamah, either by  capturing or killing him and hence bringing the war to an end in their favour. Though Abhimanyu was such a young lad, but his contribution towards Pandavas and the human society at large was huge. He took on the responsibility of changing the course of the war and has created a place for himself in history for heroic, dauntless courage. So who lives better and how?  People who have a sense of awareness and consciousness or people who are awake all their lives and live each day in awareness, wakefulness and gratitude are the ones who live their lives truly well.

Why is Atman difficult to know?

20.11.10

When I was completely lost in these  thoughts closing my eyes, in me appeared the benevolent face of Swami Nityananda of Ganeshpuri with his two hands in the air as usual, as though he is invariably blessing us. He asked me upfront, “Tell me why is Atman difficult to know?” I was stumped and speechless. I was in no condition to reply because of these two reasons. Firstly, his emergence was unexpected and secondly gazing at his tall stature, literally and figuratively, I was wonderstruck and in no position to think. He is my Divine Father. He has taught me how to walk by holding my finger on the spiritual path, has initiated me, he has comforted me in times of acute distress and has shown me light in times of darkness. Imagine how could I tell him something about Atman and why is it difficult to know it?

I simply prostrated humbly at his divine feet inwardly like a child and became attentive to receive sacred benediction from him. I was only too eager and waiting in anticipation to hear his celestial words in simple expressions. He explained the lofty ideas through a metaphor.

He began to communicate in a continuous flow,

“The body and Atman appear to look one and akin. Even if we do get a few glimpses of it sometimes, we cannot recognize it although it is in front of us. So the seeker must separate the two like butter in the buttermilk.

When we travel on the spiritual path, the consequences of past karmas of many, many lives manifest and show results.  At that time we have to bear the consequences on our body and mind and we suffer in many ways. This clouds and covers the Atman and we lose our peace and become morose. Even those who have just been initiated in Atman recently are unable to stay in tune with the Atman  because the negative effects of karmas are making a deep impact on the mind and body. Separate the mind, the thought  of body from the unchangeable and joyous element called Atman in you. You should recognize this fact, know that the present life situation is due to past actions and be quiet and stable in mind. It takes a long time and a lot of pratice to achieve a state where the mind is completely conquered and is invulnerable. The search of God is not for the weak souls.

In times of misfortune, sickness, adversity and loss, humans have a tendency to rely on unreliable sources. They still take help of relatives, friends and other people, but they never take refuge and shelter in God. They still do not become dispassionate and detached with worldly attachments and ties which  are infested in their minds. God is the only source of right advice and guidance, peace and calmness and is the solution to all our problems. During adverse, inharmonius and difficult conditions our mind is receptive, one must avail this opportunity and he must purify his soul by prayers and meditations.

The people who surround us with whom we live, work, our neighbours and others; they do many wrong and sinful deeds. The vibrations of their defiled mind cover our subtle Atman. The appalling vibrations that fall on us make us suffer in the form of mental disturbances and physical imbalance. The atmosphere that we live in is far from being pure. Meditation will clear the fog in the mind and clean the energy centres.

Now think of this- When our beloved, our lover is separated from us in some life because of some circumstantial reasons, we are unable to bear the pangs of separation. We remember him or her very fondly, we cry and long to meet him/ her and we keep thinking every moment when will I ever see my beloved’s face. When we eventually meet our beloved, we are so relieved although the union may have taken many lives. The pangs of separation take many lives to heal as we wait and wait to meet and see our sweetheart’s face! The pain and heartache of separation from ‘Purushottam’, the Supreme is much greater than the pain and gloom of our lover lost many lives before. We have been separated not by a few but many, many lives from our beloved Supreme Master, our sweetheart. The Supreme Master is as much eager to unite with us as we are desperate to mingle and unite with Him. And when we ultimately unite with the Supreme Light, the joy and ecstasy is unique and cannot be compared with anything similar that is of this ephemeral world.

We unknowingly roam and wander everywhere in the world in search of happiness, comfort, contentment and peace. We search for it in objects, material gain, success, relationships, sensual pleasures, temptations, vices and so many other deceiving aims. But sadly we are never ever satisfied with anything for long as everything in this sansara or world is short lived and has ‘anshik sukh’ partial happiness.

Once we get entangled in this sansara, the place of birth and death due to our karmic cycle, we get trapped in the chakravyuhu, the webmire and unconquerable maze like Abhimanyu in Mahabharat. It is almost impossible to come out of this maze and puzzle of this sansara. We too, like Abhimanyu know how to enter the maze but do not know the secret of escaping because of our slumber and lack of right knowledge. To be able to wake up from the sleep of ignorance, we may take a few eras and  millenniums!! Now this is a sad situation. Hence it is advised by the sages and the learned that we must make special efforts or darun prayatna to liberate ourselves. The sadguru will surely help us but we must also make tremendous efforts from our side to liberate ourselves or else we shall again get lost in the maze and we shall  again lose the opportunity of liberating ourselves by shutting the door of salvation with our own hands. To avoid this fragile situation, there are created so many types of spiritual practices for us to use as anchors and tools to thwart drifting.

Gradually, the ordinary intellect must be made sharper and refined by discrimination and spiritual wisdom as Atman is extremely subtle.

The further vast volume of spiritual knowledge of liberation was given to me by Swami Nityananda with the help of an allegory the following day. He reminded me about my trip to Kailash Mansarovar yatra which I undertook in July-Aug this year. And he explained to me that on a pilgrimage, there are many people at starting point, but gradually the number of people decreases and just a few can reach the top or the highest altitude. Similarly, if we imagine and visualize that only one person out of one lakh people attempts to pursue the path of God. We separate that person from the crowd and ask him to come on one side. Then we take another such aspirant and ask him to join the first person. We have selected two aspirants out of two lakh people, three from three lakh people and so on. And from one lakh such selected spiritual contestants just one single seeker is successful and able to know Atman. This means that the possibility of success is very difficult and rare. But why is it so? There are many reasons for this, he illustrated.

Those people who misuse Tantra, do black magic or witchcraft  in the spiritual endeavours are disqualified and eliminated first of all amongst all the aspirants who chose to pursue God and enlightenment.

Then there are people amongst the group of aspirants who do not have the virtues of compassion, gratitude and generosity. They too start with others, walk a little but are disqualified from the path of God.

In the count of so many aspirants, there are some who call themselves devotees but they harbour negative emotions  like competitive spirit, hatred, vengeance, weakness for money and honour, stealing,  pride and other such unwanted tendencies They too are eliminated by God from the path. These people cannot reach the door of the Heavenly Father.

Now out of  all the people who began, only some aspirants are left. These are the ones who make advancement and move ahead. But in this category are those people who do not obey the spiritual teacher because of their demerits of stubbornness, attachment to one’s ego or simply because of not letting go. Even though they do make considerable accomplishment on the path of God, they are unable to gain access to subtle knowledge. The gurus may be in physical form or in the astral world  that does not matter in any way. It is expected of the seeker to obey the Master, obey the Universal and Spiritual Laws in every way till the last leg and phase of the spiritual journey. It is only when the disciple obeys the advice and counsel of the Spiritual Master in every sense that the door of the last and highest realms of the Atman is opened.

The stage of this kind of disciple can be compared to someone who is looking at the garden through a glass door. Although he can view everything clearly, he cannot go in the garden. The deep sunken corrosive ego in the disciple is difficult to identify by him and still harder to get rid of. It is only when one has the will and desire to erase one’s false self, that it becomes possible for the teacher to do his job of cleansing the inner core and layers of the subconscious mind polluted over so many previous lives. To unite with the Atman, the disciple must submit the subtlest ego with his own consent and agreement. He must surrender completely with faith in his heart for his own welfare.”

Banyan Tree: “Today you came to me and you have worshipped me, I am very pleased with you. I have been standing quietly for so many years and nobody glances at me. Everyone is attracted to the external beauty of other trees and gets swayed by them. You have come all the way from so far to look at me and take my photos! I am very happy to be on your blog because it belongs to Shri Mahavatar Babaji. The area of the ashram which has the samadhi ashes and meditation hall has divine light. Can you see that?”

Me: “Yes, now I can. I see two big circles of light. One is on top of the relic and the other on top of the meditation hall.”

Me: “How old are you?”

Banyan Tree: “A few hundred years. Three hundred and twenty one to be exact.”

Me: “But you don’t look that old. You have a slighter trunk. How come?”

Banyan Tree:  ”Because  I don’t have ichha to be so big. I had the desire to be only spiritual and holy. Trees have prana or life force inside them. Look at me in the middle, can you see the silver light inside me?”

Me: “Yes, I do.”

Banyan Tree: “That’s my prana or energy which I give to others. There is energy also in the leaves and other parts of the tree but maximum is in the centre of the tree, in my trunk. Look again.”

Me: “I am seeing it.”

Banyan Tree:  “Trees have two main things -Spirit and life force –Atma and prana respectively. Each tree has its own Spirit and it has vital life force called prana. If the tree has a desire to help others selflessly and to be holy in nature, then it grows very big in size. Most Banyan trees have either of these desires while a few have both the desires, hence the difference in nature of each tree.”

“Recall the gigantic Peepal  Tree that you saw in Murugan temple in Katargama in Sri Lanka. It has both- Ichha Shakti and Sankalpa Shakti. So it is very, very big and is also spiritual and holy. And my child, that tree can hear also! Therefore whoever comes to worship it, say their prayers there have wishes fulfilled. Those who come to quietly meditate under it, gain a lot of power to overcome their hurdles on the spiritual path and consequently make quick and hasty progress.”

Me: “No wonder, Hindus and Buddhists alike come in large numbers to worship this gigantic tree!”

Banyan Tree:  “Not all Banyan or Peepal Trees are powerful and very pious. Just a few have a great desire to grow big in size and to be holy too like the one you saw on your pilgrimage in Sri Lanka.”

The Banyan Tree still continued filling me with abundant knowledge by telling me more.

Banyan Tree: “Each tree has prana according  to his icchha Shakti. The more icchha Shakti,  the more prana it will have. The prana is stored in its leaves.  As it grows bigger and bigger, it  will have more and more leaves to store prana. These trees have abundant prana  to give to others. So have icchha Shakti and grow in Atma and not in material. Unless one possesses icchha Shakti , he cannot grow in Atma. Have icchha Shakti to grow in Atman and not desires to grow in material and worldly things. If you grow in Spirit you have power. Add power to your family, nation and planet like Babaji.  Babaji is like a massive Banyan Tree. He possesses ancient wisdom, eternal values and esoteric knowledge. He is Boddhi Sattva, one who has enlightenment of Truth, knower of eternal Truth. Follow Babaji and his teachings. Serve God the way he is serving God since time immemorial. This is the best service you can do to humanity and to God.”

He continued to bless me further by revealing to me, “Some extra ordinary Banyan Trees emit Super Conscious rays, they are old, very old unlike seasonal flowers. Most saints of today are like seasonal flowers but Mahavatar Babaji is like the Banyan Tree. The Banyan Trees and Babaji are both alike. They give us a new lease of life, vitality for health, spiritual progress and hasty evolution but silently. He likes to hide from public and do selfless service for God eternally.”

The state of super Consciousness-III

20.01.11

The old rishi continued– “Babaji is God sent for all of you. He has mercy on every living creature. You are so very fortunate to be able to worship him in Pure state and Form in this life. This is your punya, good deeds. You have added many more punyas by asking for forgiveness for your clan. Babaji will manifest in you as light, knowledge, love and tapasya. Give all the fruit of your tapasya back to him so that he can use the tapafal, outcome of your spiritual efforts for the vridhi, escalation of satya, truth in this world. Babaji has blessed your past generations by accepting your forgiveness and their redemption through you. Your future generations will be pious, healthy, happy and prosperous and spiritual in nature. One day you will print and publish a book of this blog of articles by which the society of pious souls shall benefit and they will uplift their spirits. They will atone for their misgivings and they will get redemption from past and present wrongful karmas and they will surge ahead in spiritual evolution. You and your family will be healthy, prosperous and spiritual. All your desires will be fulfilled and peace shall prevail in your present and future lives to come. Preach to the world the power of love, co-operation and harmony. Where ever there is Dharma, truth, there is God, peace, prosperity and inner happiness. I bless all those people who read these articles with reverence and faith in Mahavatar Babaji, and they too shall be showered with spiritual happiness and satisfaction, good health and prosperity.”

Expand your consciousness-II

10.02.11

Maharishi Agastya was dark in complexion, short, had long hair tied in a big knot over his back and had a bunch of ancient manuscripts on palm leaves in his right hand. This face matched with the other astral view I had of him in Rameshwar temple, most probably in 2004. After we had offered our offerings and prayers in the Shiva temple at Rameshwar, I sat down in the hall against a pillar away from people, almost hiding and I did japa on my rudraksh mala. I closed my eyes to avoid seeing anything and with intensity repeated the holy name in a vibrant and pious atmosphere. I wanted to repeat the name of God as much as possible as my stay in Rameshwar was short. With this thought and intention, I picked up my rosary and began chanting Om Namaha Shivaya mantra. After little bit of chanting, I soon saw a short and stout figure with white dhoti draped around his waist and pot belly, a sacred thread over his left shoulder, and hair tied in a big knot on the back. He came in the hall, folded his hands with devotion and bowed his head in obeisance to Lord Shiva and turned around and came and stood next to me. I was astounded because I had not invoked any sage whatsoever. But with this incidence, I only gathered that the souls of the great sages must be coming here in the early hours to take a darshan of Lord Shiva which is true about all holy places. But why I got to see him and what could be the intention, rather what good I must have done in the past to get a splendid moment like this, I wondered. I was incredibly baffled at the unexpected arrival of his. As if this was not enough,  he came and sat next to me on the floor. When I felt his warmth and very faint sensation of his auric energy, I began to thank my good luck and good karmas for an occurrence like this.

Inwardly, I did pranam to him with awe and reverence. He blessed me by saying these words, “Yes, I am Agastya. I come here every day to pay my obeisance to Shankar Bhagwan, I am his devotee. Swami Nityananda (of Ganeshpuri) has sent you here to do penance. I knew you will come. Your prayashchit  redemption is over. You are now clean. Now do tapasya, tapasya of body, mind and soul. Draupadi had full faith in Lord Krishna and he salvaged her honour and rescued her out of love . Out of sheer divine love between the two, Lord Krishna called Draupadi- Krishne. He gave his own name to her. You are asadharan  stree, a remarkable woman. You will attain success faster than others. Your devotion to Krishna is exemplary, others will follow you. Your success is due to your devotion and faith in Krishna. You have worshipped him in many incarnations. He will do your udhdhar, he will rescue you, give you salvation. And now let me clear your mystification. Bhagwan Rama came uptil here and then crossed over the ocean to Lanka. I helped him in his penance and in winning the battle with the asura Ravana. Ramayan is not a myth but it is all true. Faithless people doubt in God’s presence. After you go from here, continue your sadhana without a break with full devotion and faith in God, you will succeed.” This is one incident and…

I had no problem in recognizing this great sage about whom I had mentioned if you can recall, in the post –How does one  know Atman? that Maharishi Agastya along with Mahavatar Babaji and Boganathar took Saurabh Samadhi after intense tapas in the forests and caves. When he came to me in his astral body to impart higher than usual spiritual wisdom during meditation in the morning of 2.2.11 this time, I at once offered my pranam in my heart without moving the body as it would have broken my communion with him. Very fluently, losing no time, he began to converse with me telepathically, “I am Maharishi Agastya. I am not a muni. Muni is the one who does manan, thinking on the mind level. I am a Maharishi because I did shodhan, research on medicine, astrology, chemistry and spiritual sciences. I like to help those meditators who are trying sincerely. When one tries to salvage his soul, he is met by many unexpected trials and tribulations. Only the daunting souls can march ahead. The weak and anxious souls decide to either stagger or stop their journey. The trials of life should be taken as tapasya. I am doing tapas since the past seventy five thousand years.

“When you concentrate on the agya chakra, do not give attention to any sound or loud noise coming from outside and reverberating in your head. Stay fixed. Fix your gaze at that point as long as you can. The thoughts and images that are coming in your mind are not generated inside you. They are of the people who are either thinking of you or talking about you somewhere, discard them, they are absolutely unimportant.

Depth in meditation raises the level of Consciousness and duration widens the Consciousness.

Part-A

For depth, one needs practice. With practice, concentration and meditation becomes deeper. By depth is meant reaching the highest realms of the celestial skies of ether and space. Connect your mind to the highest skies. There are seven skies, seven loks or worlds, seven chakras, seven colours in a rainbow, seven days in a week and seven levels of aspiration. Touch the seventh level of highest realization where one learns to identify himself with the Spirit and not the body!

Our soul is entrapped in the body. It is like a bird caught inside the cage where the soul is tormented and flutters in anguish to free itself to fly in the sky of freedom to meet its beloved, the Highest Consciousness or Supreme Self called Chetna Shakti.

The guru comes in our life to open the door of the cage so that we can escape the cringe and constriction of the imprisoned soul. The limit and boundary till we fly in the sky is decided by us. We can fly to either low, medium or the highest skies. All that depends on your Ichcha Shakti, your will to aspire and attain. Your vision with Babaji narrated in the last post denotes this. Your will to take leaps and strides was not in your destiny but you are taking because of your Ichcha Shakti. When Ichcha Shakti is prabal, that is intense, our own Atma helps us and catalysts the whole process of aspiring higher.

You can be unstoppable if you wish to and cover distances which you couldn’t even comprehend let alone achieve them. If once your Consciousness is awakened, there is no stopping. So help yourself and others too. And I am protecting the birth place in Parangaipettai from nature’s calamities so that it does not get destroyed”.

Part B

Now strangely, Babaji had told me to visit Lumbini, the birthplace of Gautam Buddha before I embarked on Kailash Mansarovar Yatra in July last year. I had planned my trip accordingly. But there were changes in the last hour and because of time crunch  Lumbini was cancelled. While posting the last many articles, I realized that all the recommended places which I have visited have some great significance in my life. Just try to recall the great Banyan Tree that is more than 8,000 plus years old about which I have mentioned in my last post? This is the huge religious Banyan Tree in Lumbini with whom I connected on the same day after Maharishi Agastya illumined me. The day was 2.2.11. It was the same Tree that has explained to me many undisclosed spiritual laws. With God’s great mercy, the benevolent tree divulged his past background and history also. Here is his story in his own words –

“About 9,500 years back, I was a rishi, a sage in Nepal in the Himalayan Mountains. For many years, I did intensive physical, mental and spiritual tapasya penance to realize God. After I realized God I reflected and thought why did I not ask anything for others with the clout of my tapas? I wish I had asked something for others instead of myself !

As God is very quick in listening to sincere and unselfish prayers, I was  heard  instantly and God said to me with his caressing words, “ Hey Munivar, I accept your heartfelt and sincere prayer. After about 7,000 years a very pious soul is going to incarnate on the Earth for the salvation of people. An extremely sacred place is required for deep realizations for this exclusive and extremely pious soul. Think and tell me about one such appropriate place which will be befitting for that soul. Where ever there is penance done should be appropriate.”

I told God, “Kindly give me such a later life so that I can serve that pure and pious soul.”

With my will so very strong and the desire so uncompromising to do intense penance because of which I chose to become and be born as a Banyan Tree; since it is only the Banyan Tree whose longevity is thousands of years!

I lived a long life of 100 years as a rishi and when the environment was conducive, my spirit entered a banyan tree in Lumbini and I waited for a very long time for Bhagwan Buddha to arrive. I made my long wait and hiatus my tapasya and sadhana. When Bhagwan Buddha was born, there was bright light on the land and I understood that my tapasya will soon yield result. One day I saw Gautam Buddha, who had a divine insight while walking here and he himself came and sat under the banyan tree. When God’s dazzling Light fell on him, some of it fell on me too and I got the consideration and returns of my tapas.

Gautam Buddha lived a long life of 93 years. He suffered a lot in mind and body so that even if not many, but just a few could be awakened in Spirit. But there are only a handful people who truly love God. Typically, people come to God only to mitigate their sorrows and meet their needs and then they return to their lives and homes.

Mahavatar Babaji is also working selflessly and serving the humans so that their progress in Spirit is possible. But the evolution of human race is at an extremely slow pace. The reason of the slackened pace is their lack of desire. Only if the human being has an intense desire to free himself that it is possible to carry out such a vivid change. Nobody can stop us from unfolding our full potential. When satguru reveals us the Truth, we must follow it and practice every teaching with sincerity. Practice with regularity. Practice any technique or method but your goal must be the highest. Detect your aberrations, weakness and vices and relinquish them permanently.

One life is not enough for our progress. So complete the unfinished task in this life itself and create your next life so that your future life has only God, human service and love, peace and joy.

Pay attention to every word that is uttered by Mahavatar Babaji  who speaks in favour of your highest welfare and concern for the whole world. Co-operate and help him in making this earth peaceful, joyous, clean, green and prosperous in all natural resources. For it to materialize, have pure thoughts, do unselfish acts and dedicate this life for the sake of God. I bless you all, my children. Do good to others, do yagya of love. Babaji is a very, very pure soul. Help him in his global vision.”

Part C

Dear readers, on the next day, Babaji was as usual benevolent to decipher the vision of the spectrum of three colours- yellow, orange and white which I had seen and could not interpret. The compassionate Master admitted that indeed Maharishi Agastya was an ancient soul and has been doing tapas for more than 75,000 years. He then unfolded a greater mystery which left me contented and enriched for the next several days. He revealed that-

“Light comes to us in the form of wisdom and knowledge. Try and attempt to have more and more of that. Expand your Consciousness and widen your spiritual knowledge. Give Light and wisdom to others.

Once the Spirit unfolds in us and you know Atma, there are three levels of aspiration and heights to accomplish after that. In accordance, there are three types of gyan or wisdom – Teevra gyan, Prachand gyan and Prabhutva gyan.  When we translate that, it means wisdom that is intense, very intense and most intense respectively. In between these three stages there are other sub -stages of spiritual and God’s wisdom.  Now let’s look at the age of the Banyan Tree in Lumbini. It is very ancient and 8,500 years old. The wisdom given to us by this sacred and ancient tree is intense. It is called teevra gyan, intense wisdom as we call it.

Maharishi Agastya has done tapas for 75,000 years. He has wisdom and knowledge that is very intense- prachand gyan. What he has kindly bestowed on you all  is prachand gyan.

My existence since my first birth and origin is some lakh years old ( sorry, I cannot reveal the exact figure) Hence my wisdom and spiritual knowledge is Prabhutva gyan which means extremely intense or blazing knowledge. Prabhutva gyan is rarest of rare and is attained with lakhs of years of tapas and is extremely exclusive.”

Expand your Consciousness-III

 Part A

Maharishi Agastya’s blessed words of insight and ancient knowledge once more-

“Those souls who have been living in this universe for a very, very long time are a treasure and store house of earth’s as well as man’s history. Just imagine how much we have seen, how much we have known and imagine how many eras, epochs and time cycles we have witnessed.

The time that was followed after the creation of the Earth, was very heavenly and delightful. There was no insufficiency or deficiency. Slowly, with time the population of humans increased and the trees were felled. The deterioration and destruction on the earth is due to human follies and lack of sight and vision.

Once Africa was very prosperous in vegetation and animal life but pride and arrogance combined with greed depleted its resources. There were more sins than virtuous acts committed. The more faith we have in God, the more gladness and happiness generated around. Whenever the sins of man exceed on this earth, God has to send a very luminous soul to re-establish Truth and Dharma called Avatar to remind us of the eternal knowledge and truth that advocates having compassion on all living beings, loving all, doing good to all and helping all men. Where ever there is a surge of wrongful acts, there is disturbance, remorse, unrest and disorder and people are in agony and pain. The luminous souls or Avatars as they are called incarnate and give their punyas or meritorious karmas to Mother Earth and that in return brings back peace, order, cheerfulness and love. Dharma or righteousness and Truth are re-established. If we also add something as our contribution towards this objective and mission of the Avatar or other realized souls and dharmatmas, then their workload shall be eased. The positive rays of Divine Light emitted by them generate peace, happiness, greenery and relaxation to the tensed minds on the Earth.

We must always remember our duties towards our country and to God. Family duties can also be somehow managed; it is not a big issue. When we work for God, our household and family responsibilities are taken care by God itself- “Sarvadharmanparityajaya mamekam sharanam vraja”

Maharishi Agastya continued with his flow of divine words after giving me a glimpse of the sacred light and knowledge. He said, “The human by nature is constricted and restricted; it likes dullness, timidity and obscurity. When he gets  light in the form of wisdom, he does not accept it. Knowledge of God and Self is eternal and we must attempt to attain it. Knowledge is Light, with knowledge we get to see God.”

Part B

Mahavatar Babaji’s golden drops of divine words in meditation-

Incessant grace of revd. His Holiness Mahavatar Babaji once more. He enlightened me by throwing so much light on areas which are out of purview of average human mind and my day became so much richer. He began by saying-

“What you are going to receive from me now is because of the good karmas of your many lives. This is ‘prasad,’ grace from god to you and you must share it with all.

After self-knowledge, a seeker transcends and attains three stages of further development, one by one if he has the will and desire to attain, ichcha shakti that is.

1st stage- After self realization, there is a stable state of sustaining peace. The mind’s agitation stops and one is calm most of the time.

2nd stage- The stage of Om. Continued sound of Om, which is divine sound is heard in meditation or otherwise by the meditator.

3rd stage-During meditation many times the culminating stage is also touched, the stage of thoughtlessness called shunya or void, a state of Pure being.

The meditator passes from one stage to another and after long practice of concentration and meditation and Guru’s grace, he stabilizes in one such stage and then shifts to the higher one. The mind and body have to be prepared and fine tuned for such higher stages. Right diet, enough sleep and regular exercise are of prime importance. Ayurvedic medicines such as Brahmi, Ashwagandha, Shatavari are good brain tonics. Foods such as amla, almonds, nuts, milk and milk products, fresh fruits and vegetables play a vital role in nourishing and recharging the nerve cells and channels (Refer Food and breath control)  Head and body massage with a nourishing and rejuvenating oil and aromatherapy are also helpful to a great extent and are supportive in creating a healthy well being.” He went further ahead by saying the what is mentioned in the oldest Vedas-the Rig Veda.

“When the Universe was not born, what was there?

Shunya- void, emptiness, nothing .

When the Universe was created, there was peace, tranquility, coolness and purity.

Sound of Om reverberated in the atmosphere as there was so much tranquility. There were dense forests and thick vegetation. In thick vegetation, the sound of Om flows naturally. As excessive deforestation began, gradually the state of Om deteriorated and it came down to the first stage of shanti  or peaceful state. As and as the number of people increased, the forests were cut, rivers shrinked  or vanished, the ice from the snow mountains melted. Drastic changes took place on the Earth because of adharma or sinful ways of living.

In a world full of people, there is chaos and commotion in the atmosphere. The thoughts that float in the space clash with each other and it becomes harder to meditate upon God in modern world. The relentless noise of traffic, people and machines add to the disturbance in the atmosphere.

The Earth is a unit, one house, it is one. Do not think in terms of country or community, see the  Earth as one planet and think and see the planet as a whole, it is yours. At the moment, our Earth is passing through the lowest level where the rate of unrighteousness, sins, lust for money, greed in on the surge and increasing everyday. This trend should be reversed and we must make our planet greener, more peaceful and pious once again.”

Babaji concluded very beautifully when he took me to greater heights as he told me-“Those who wish to soar higher and touch new heights should follow this blog and they will realize the power of God. There is road beyond self realization, the latter is a phase, a sojourn in the very long path of the pilgrimage and we need not stop here.

After we get to self realization, the second stage is of Knowledge of Atman which should be attained. The next stage of Cosmic Consciousness or Virat Swaroop is followed after knowing Atman. God is eternal, indestructible, know Him. Expand your thinking, limits and do good to yourself.

There are many depths and levels of peace. Profound peace, intense peace and limitless peace.

There are several levels of knowledge too. Move onwards.

Reach the thoughtless state, the state of perfect perfection!

If you reach the state of shunya void, you will be able to unfold all the mysteries of nature.

There are several stages of bliss or ananda also. There is no limit or boundary for it.

Human is unable to attain great degree of perfection mainly because of his social commitments and obligations.  Break the barrier of all layers of ego. Free your mind from very old pattern of habits and sanskaras.

And don’t forget to pray and meditate regularly for the good of all- living as well as non- living beings.”

The procedure and progression of knowing our soul-I

30.01.13

I reached the Himalayas and saw Gangotri and the white temple there and I also saw the thick foliage of evergreen trees on the nearby mountains. A voice began to talk to me telepathically, “ I am Ganga, my sacred waters give life to millions. Many years ago, when I used to flow, there were such lovely, beautiful dense forests growing where ever I flowed on my way. Today there are no forests and green jungles, but only concrete buildings. Uptil Haridwar, my water is still clean but after that it becomes despoiled. Do you know why? I replied, “No, I dont know Ma.” She answered,“That’s because my water does not flow freely from there on, it becomes stagnant.”

I did namaskar to Ma Gange and tried to solve the riddle. Why did Ma Ganga tell me all this? What am I to do with this information. Am I not clean yet? These thoughts ran across my mind immediately. As I was struggling with myself…

Just then I saw a small white temple which had a spacious room with white walls. Inside the room was a big white idol of Lord Vishnu holding the conchshell, shankh and a mace in one hand and in another sudarshan chakra wearing a garland of white lilies and a few red roses. There was a beam of white light filtering in the temple from the left corner of a roof and slanting rays were falling on the idol of  Lord Vishnu thus making the visual so sacred and wonderful. It gave me immense joy to see such a  holy scene before my fortunate eyes. This was the first time I had a darshan of Vishnu Bhagwan. I felt extremely fortunate because Vishnu Sahastranaam is my favourite tribute to Lord Krishna.

I tried to connect these two visions occuring one after the other quickly but could not gather anything. My curiosity was immediately satisfied when in an instant the idol of Lord Vishnu vanished and in its place I saw Mahavatar Babaji standing there in his usual appearance. I was stupefied at the turn of events and the variety of scenes rolling out before my eyes like a slide show on the computer screen. Comprehending my problem, Babaji said, “Start the next post now. One’s Consciousness need not only be raised, it should also be widened and expanded.” He gave me a few examples of attachment, anger and greed that some people possesses around me and showed me the harmful  effects these vices have over their lives.

Do you remember the post of Super Consciousness-I in which I had told you that there are many Himalayan Yogis meditating and doing tapas in the caves out there? One day, in the morning when I was contemplating about this post, my mind got connected with one such ascetic living in the cave of Uttaranchal. He told me that he has been meditating there since the past thirteen years and has not come out of the cave ever since. The requirement of the sunshine is fulfilled by some Yogic Kriya and he is atoning his bad karmas of unkindness, ego and arrogance. He told me that attachment of a sadhu is worse than that of a householder. The sannyasi or sadhu has an ego which is undetectable by him and others as well and such a person has severe attachment to his monastery, disciples and his position. It takes a lot for them to accept that humility is superior to monkhood and that accepting other people and their views is a virtue. He himself had been arrogant and harsh when he was living in the normal world and with great difficulty has accepted his mistakes. Mahavatar Babaji’s supple guidance and unconditional love has changed him forever and he has realized the importance of unconditional love for all beings. “Those who are practicing Yoga, Pranayam or Kriya must try to look deeper inside themselves and seek Guru’s guidance in scraping off hidden subtle ego lurking inside them.”

I heard God speaking inside me and the Voice began to explain to me the sacred knowledge hidden within this verse in Bhagwad Geeta in the sacred hour. The Voice of God said-

“Bhagwad Geeta originated during the time of warfare and bloodshed when Arjun’s heart was filled with remorse and compassion as he did not want to kill anyone. He detested bloodshed and completely surrendered to God in spite of knowing that victory was his without any doubt because Krishna was with them. God was very pleased with Arjuna and responded and spoke to him through Krishna. Krishna became the medium through which God gave the eternal, shashwat knowledge to Arjuna. God’s responds unconditionally to sincere prayers and pure hearts.

The world or sansara  that we live in and see around us is eternal and the ignorance of man is also primitive and eternal since the first man was born many, many centuries ago. The physical world is temporary and illusory,  it is like a bubble in an ocean. The ocean is the Universal Self or God. God is eternal, limitless and infinite. We are born here many times and every time we come here we are in a state of dream or sleep. When we dream, we are in delusion. Delusion can be broken when we attain knowledge of Self with self realization. For that we must go to an enlightened Guru who breaks our delusion and gives us the eternal knowledge of Self. The Vedas contain the knowledge of eternal Self. The knowledge of Self is also eternal like the world or sansara. We must acquire this knowledge. The Guru takes mercy on us and shows us many of our important past incarnations that we have lived so far as a proof that indeed we have lived so many lives only dreaming and did not  know the Truth.

With constant help and guidance of the Guru, each and every cell of our brain is illumined with continuous spiritual practices and master’s touch over a good period of time.  Normally, humans use very little portion of the brain in a life time. As the dormant memory cells are recharged, we can do past life regression. We  get over with our very old unwanted tendencies and habits, and the memory of our Soul is kindled. Eventually, as we progress on our path, we  get enlightenment of the Soul once all the dormant cells are functional and used optimally after recharging them with Divine energy in the form of Light. But the ignorant man’s brain is shut as the nerve cells are clogged with ignorance and dark particles. For the enlightened, God is eternal and always present while for the ignorant, the power of God is unknown and false power of self or ego is always prevalent. This is the main difference between the two categories of people.

The analogy of a Banyan Tree is used as a metaphor to explain this. It can be explained on two levels- body and mind. First on body level- the parts of a Banyan Tree can be compared to that of our body. The roots of the tree are the parts that hold it firmly to the ground. They are like our feet holding us firmly on the ground . The legs and trunk of the body are  comparable to the trunk of the tree. Our hands are compared to the branches. The canopy of the tree is the head of a human body and the roots dangling from the canopy are our matted hair.

On the second and higher level, we compare the upper part of the tree to the upper part of our body- the human brain. As explained just a little while ago, that the canopy of the tree looks similar to the brain of a man. It is similar in shape and anatomy. The leaves of the Banyan Tree are like the cells of the brain and the veins in the leaves are the nadis or veins in our body. The cells in the body have memory engrained in them called smriti. As we live in this sansara  for too long, we forget God and believe the world to be real. This is vismriti  or forgetfulness of God.  Smriti and vismriti both are in the brain and the memory of God should be revived gradually with the eternal knowledge of Self or Atman with Guru’s guidance. Behind the memory or smriti is God. We must reach uptil here where the memory, smriti of our divinity is re-awakened. At the last stage of evolution, the remembrance of God is real, God is real, God’s personality real, God’s power and existence as real in contrast to the existence of our false ego.

And finally there is one more part of the interpretation of this shloka which when combined with all the explanations before makes it complete and final.

Ashwattha is the other name of  Banyan Tree. Ashwattha means shashwat, that never endseternal.

There are two types of men in this world those who know and those who do not know- The gyani and agyani respectively. Majority of people come in this world without knowing who has created  them and this world  and get completely entangled in the maya jal the webmire of maya or delusion. They repeatedly come in this world because of their vasanas or desires for physical world and are therefore called ignorant and compared to an inverted Banyan Tree in this shloka.  The falling roots upside down are the roots of ignorance in the inverted tree. They are contrary to what they should be ideally and therefore the tree is shown upside down.

While the wise men, come in this world, do not get too entangled, go to a guru, take Vedic or esoteric knowledge from him, cut down the branches of their ignorance with an axe of wisdom and are compared  with a Banyan Tree which stands firmly on its roots and is absolutely grounded. Those men who have knowledge of God are firmly grounded and do not get swayed with the storms of enticing maya.

So much for the explanation of the verse 1 of Geeta chapter 15.

In the end, God asked me,” Do you know that there is a Banayan Tree which is more than eight thousand years old? Have you seen it? ” I thought for a while and looked around every where mentally and thought of a few places. ActuallyI did not know that a tree can live up to eight thousand years, leave alone know one! God enlightened me, “There is one such Banyan Tree, the Boddhi tree in Lumbini under which Gautam Buddha attained prachand prakash intense light. It is the only tree which is so ancient. It is now 8,056.5 years old. Mahavatar Babaji can be compared to this Boddhi tree, so eternal, so timeless and so ancient. Such trees are never uprooted even in the strongest of wind, earthquakes or storms and are always stongly grounded. You are a very blessed soul because you are writing all this about him. Pay your homage and tribute to an ageless, timeless, immortal soul who has been living for more than 1,8oo years to serve my children.”

Thought Power-I

Mother Earth.

“My dear children, this earth was created out of sheer divine love by Divine Father. In a moment of intense love out of his Thought, this Earth was created. Our Earth has all the elements, all the resources to sustain life for billions of years to come. This Earth also has waves of unlimited thoughts of people living here. These thoughts form a blanket over our planet and can be seen by the astral or divine eyes of the illumined souls in the uppermost regions of the celestial skies.

There are two types of thoughts that comprise this blanket- the good and positive thoughts which act as rays of positive energy and are helpful in sustaining this planet. The others are the contrary thoughts- they are negative and destructive thoughts which are an impediment in building, sustaining and maintaining the Earth. Whenever the negative rays exceed the positive rays, there is divine intervention from the celestial skies from the living divine souls who are ordained by God to maintain the balance of Dharma and Adharma– Truth and falsehood. The golden rays from the celestial skies fall on the Earth which are refracted and received at the spot where it was aimed at. When this happens, very slowly the wheel of dharma begins to rotate and spins till the balance is again restored.

In practical terms it means that when divine light falls in places where there is a lot of adharma, there may be sudden or violent changes which when allowed to happen create positive results in future. Bad elements are removed; new positive drastic changes take place on the earth; and truth, goodness and happiness restored.

We must be an instrument and a participant in such good moves inspite of mental fatigue, physical weariness and lack of vision. God is behind all this drama and we must attempt to achieve success in such endeavours.

Peace and love are two things without which this Earth cannot survive. So spread love and peace in every possible means and methods to create the ever joyous planet.”

S-“Who deserve enlightenment?”

G-“Those who suffer in this Maya, illusion and who after many incarnations take shelter in God. God directs them to their predestined Guru, who is a recipient of God’s incessant Grace.”

S-“Why does man reincarnate repeatedly?” (Read Why is Atman difficult to know?)

G-“ Because the thinking power of man is abysmal low and he does not improve the power of his thoughts.”

S- “Why does man not improve his thought power?”

G-“Because man’s existing thought power is already so low. Based on his present poor thought power, he creates new karmas which hurl him down further and hence in this way there is no way by which he can be raised. But God is concerned about us. God is always anxious and eager that somehow we must rise in Atman, in Spirit because God cannot see our suffering.”

S-“And how does God help us?”

G-“God helps us indirectly since we are not ready and prepared to connect and deal directly with Him. Those souls who are awake in Spirit, who are called our Spiritual teachers and Masters, God communicates through them. The Masters illustrate the divine path because they are always in unison with God.”( Also refer ‘The power of praying intensely’)

S-“How does the guru help us?”

G-“The thoughts or sanklap of the guru are in agreement and unity with God. They have unlimited force in them. Whenever someone with a clean heart, with a pure feeling sends out a prayer or appeal or a humble request to God, that prayer or request after touching God, first of all reaches the divine guru. The guru after God’s approval sends out divine thought vibrations which travel in the Universe. The thought waves in Cosmic Consciousness are acknowledged by us if we are prepared. So establish a strong bond with the divine guru with your mind and then establish yourself in Atman. Their powers will give you profound peace and you will become very strong in mind and deeds. After this happens, the seeker begins to think on Universal level and does good for the Universe. In this situation, God is too pleased with such souls.

With prayers sent out for the world’s welfare, planet’s wellbeing, for peace and happiness for all, acts of doing afforestation, God is extremely delighted. Without even asking for anything in return by us, God gives us everything in abundance, all our desires are nourished and we begin to touch new heights in spiritual growth and improvement.”

Thought Power-III

20.03.11

Swami Nityananda of Ganeshpuri gave me my next lesson when he very sweetly explained, “To increase the power of your thought, remain peaceful all the time. Peace is achieved when we do noble and pious actions. When evil or unharmonious deeds are performed, the guilty is punished with unhappiness and cheerlessness. Joy is derived by doing good deeds. Plus actions  performed consciously with a noble vision leads a soul to higher awareness and clean consciousness. Actions performed with powerful thoughts of nation building, looking after the needs of all the people, of environment and ecology of one’s nation and world, taking consideration and care of all living beings will produce and generate new power to your thoughts. If you do powerful new karmas today, progressively your mind will get stronger and more powerful as each day passes.

Very strong and positive mind will create a new ‘shrishti,’ a new world for you. If more and more people do pious and generous actions, the collective thought Power of the world will increase many times. The mission of all the saints is to increase the collective thought power of masses in all nations and it begins at individual level.

You initiate this act from today. As one’s sanchit karmas are extinguished with the grace of God and the gurus, the power of thoughts increases manifold. All the shakti of the manas or mind should be oriented and focused in doing only selfless actions- nishkam karmas. The power of nishkami purush is so much higher and has more potential than others. The results of our actions are in God’s hands. When we decide and dedicate all our pious actions to God, God and our Gurus are extremely pleased and give us more shakti, their power to do nishkami karmas. Thus each good action is born with a good thought. Increase such good thoughts and also increase the power of each thought by meditation daily.

Meditation leads to contemplation. Contemplation leads to Self-Enquiry which in turn leads to Self Realization and Self Transformation.

Strike a balance between meditation that is- self transformation and practical life that is -actions. To increase your thought power you must do both, both are essential for your inner growth and progress. The gurus will tell you how to solve the riddle of this complicated world as one is always puzzled at its bewildered state. Do not be afraid of taking a variety of experiences as experiences will give you practical knowledge. Experience is your master. Guru’s protective hand is always at the back.

Do your duty of meditating as the mind can become powerful only if it is devised to generate its own energies and to unite with the powers of the gurus and God. Those who are enabled to strike a balance between actions and meditation will grow in body, spirit and mind.”

After a few days, Swami Nityananda again gave me respite when I was hit with a wave of tumult. His timely guidance was this-“People think that if our life becomes more comfortable and prosperous we shall automatically attain peace. Nothing can be more untrue than this because if you have peace, then everything is alright.  ‘Hansa means durable peace, not freckled and fickle. If your mind is calm, then the thoughts are powerful. Words, thoughts originating from peace are always beneficial.

Sometimes disturbances from outside are so overwhelming that our sustained peace gets upset. If you have lost your peace, regain it and stay in a peaceful state of mind. Practice meditation and one needs practice of holding on to sustained and durable peace. In such a situation, start your ‘japa’ and other practices so that the mind again becomes tranquil and gets relief. When the mind gets relief, it will be able to meditate deeply. The outside world is in a feverish state-noisy, restless and agitated, ascertain it. Get involved in it only as much as is essential, leave the rest like the saline water of the ocean.

Practice living in peace like that of Lake Mansarovar. For such intense peace, stay in seclusion, turn the mind inwards and continue doing your sadhana. If you continuously put your mind in God, a great deal of power will flow in your thoughts and you can do impossible tasks”.

The role of ‘power of will’ in a seeker’s life-I

30.04.11

After some moments,  Babaji gave me the outline of this post and gave these useful tips for all the spiritual seekers. His advice for which we are always so grateful, should be followed so that we review ourselves from time to time and add some charge and spark to our sadhana and in life in general.

He said to me, “The power of will or Ichcha shakti is the driving force, the initiative force present in all of us. In normal world it is useful to start and initiate a goal, a purpose, a mission or any other task.

But for a seeker, the role of will power or ichcha shakti is much higher than one can understand or acknowledge. The bondage of recurring cycles of birth and death can never be broken by any soul unless he or she has a will to do it. Even God’s  help or grace comes to us  when we create and initiate that will in us to free ourselves. The soul spends  lives after lives reincarnating groping in the dark without spiritual wisdom and spiritual growth if he does not initiate and use his latent power of will.

And those seekers who are already traversing now will reach a stage when they do not make substantial growth. Those seekers  if they search for answers within, will recognize that they have  yet not had the desire or the will to move up and step up their spiritual efforts and hence they are where they were times ago. Hence if they now kindle a desire, a blazing will not to dwindle or languish, they must in moments of stillness and calmness express their will to Omnipresent God.”

Qualities of a real seeker

20.08.11

Part A

That morning, I had prayed to God to tell me how can I continue serving them in spite of my overtly disrupted routine and kindly let me know what is it that I must now begin to write for the next post so that all those who are following the blog sincerely may get their answers; their doubts should be dispelled and they should get over their shortcomings as quickly as possible. The response came in instantly in this poem which flowed without a break as I kept on writing in my diary.

After the wisdom filled poem, Swami Dayananda Shaligram spoke these following golden words for all the seekers, whether they are just the beginners or have advanced much higher on the spiritual step ladder. A disciple, he said should have these qualities if he/she wishes to open the door of the kingdom of God.

“Control the senses by controlling your mind. Once the mind is controlled, the senses automatically come under our control.

It is the manas, or the mana , our mind that first wanders and then proliferates further in worldly affairs and material stickiness. Beware of its nature of proliferation. We have come here to wind up our sansara, to tie up the loose ends and conclude our accumulated karmas done over past so many lives. Instead we are spreading out, diversifying and expanding our physical and material worlds. The mind should be hooked and anchored to the mind of the Guru or God whatever the state of the disciple is and not become dull because of constant rubbing in of worldly matters. The more time the mind is immersed in thoughts of God, the lesser it will trouble you.

So not controlling the mind can prove to be detrimental and create more diversions for the mind. Because we have done so much wandering in so many lives that it becomes difficult to control and bring the mind to rest by meditating now. Also the mind refuses to budge and cannot be controlled by any tool or method for the reason that it has become a habit for it to fritter, chatter or just be malicious and negative.

It takes a lot of time and unrelenting effort and persistence to master the mind but even your slightest effort adds up to the bank balance of your good karmas. So practice some form of mind taming by controlling it by various types of spiritual and mind training methods and techniques available to you. You may practice anything, but do it regularly and sincerely over a considerable time period to get results.

There is peace inside us.  Our mind must be made peaceful so that its peace helps us to realize God within us. No matter what practice you perform, never give up until you get the desired results. It is ‘tamas’ or dullness in us which stops us and hinders our spiritual growth. To  avoid that, do not postpone your spiritual duties; perform all your daily duties and do no waste your time in negative or unproductive thinking. Perform actions which are helpful in your spiritual goals by saving time everyday.”

Part B

When some amazing moments passed by, I felt so privileged when I heard the tree talking with me once again, “Do you think I would have let you go to Bombay with this kind of weariness? You are doing selfless tasks most of the day after finishing your personal duties and  so you must benefit from me. Now inhale deeply a few more times and store that vital force inside your brain to be used up for writing the next article. I too wish to serve Mahavatar Babaji in his mission by giving you prana instantly so that you can use it for his blog.” I was gratified as I felt so very humbled to have got a shot in the arm with fresh air and I bloomed and revived like a  sunflower which was drooping in absence of the Sun!

Keeping that intention and sankalpa  in my view,  I inhaled deeply all the fresh air surrounding me along with the blessings bestowed as I prayed and wished quietly in my heart  that all the readers who happen to read this post must also get the special mental force bestowed on me. Instantly reading my mind, at this point the holy tree said, “On your next post due on 20th Aug, put a picture of a red hibiscus flower, the red hibiscus which is blooming on that bush next to me. Pluck not the one that your eyes see easily but the one that is just below it and the one which is hardly visible to anyone. That one is sacred and has tremendous energy, it will give you and your blog subtle pranic energy.

Genuine saints never exhibit their real divine powers; they keep their siddhis or extraordinary divine powers a secret because they do not like to flaunt them, just like this red beautiful flower. I revealed to you its hidden subtle powers of subtle energies. But people are ignorant and foolish, just because the good souls are extremely humble and refuse to flaunt their divine powers, they are not respected.

Whatever comes from God is sacred; whatever is sacred should be revered. If you show no respect to your teacher or Guru, you will make errors after errors and consequently you will not get bliss and real joy from God. So tell all the readers to read each word with reverence and instill full faith and devotion in the givers.

This blog has unrestricted yet incomprehensible divine, supreme knowledge bestowed by the compassionate Grace of Shri Mahavatar Babaji. It is timeless and priceless; realize its value and worth. Don’t squander your valuable time in unproductive actions and activities. Contemplate on every word that is being said here, value the time and energy being spent on creating this blog and respect all those who have made it possible. By showing reverence and devotion to those, you shall appreciate and comprehend the hidden knowledge preserved in it, secreted yet disclosed in these words. The Mahatmas are ever waiting for you to change your behavior and wrong actions and have compassion for you yet the human takes infinite time to turn his mischievous mind towards divine qualities. Therefore, do not hesitate to peep inside your inner being and throw out all the trash and negative thoughts and habits like anger, ego, envy, pride, lack of humility and gratitude.”

As if this was not enough, the kind Banyan Tree unfolded yet another secreted piece of scientific knowledge of Yogic world. He revealed to me, “And for those who are real devotees and are seriously practicing meditation I want them to know this- the more prana or vital force you have, the more you will be able to meditate. The higher realms of spiritual kingdom can be accessed with the blessing of the divine guru and high level of fine energy called sukhshma prana.

The more Iccha shakti you have, the more prana your body will contain effortlessly. If you have a strong will or Iccha shakti, the more prana you shall have from prakriti or nature because of which you will be able to meditate more deeply. We can draw in prana mentally from nature in meditation for this purpose. If you meditate on a healthy or holy tree situated anywhere, you can draw huge ‘prana’ while sitting at home when you focus your mind deeply on such a sanctified and revered tree; while staying at home, you shall be revived. Iccha shakti is vital to improve your power of meditation. Therefore improve and increase your power of will.”

Our lost rich heritage-III

30.11.11

That night first I saw a Banyan Tree which was copious in form and sturdy in its built. In a flash of a moment, it left the ground on which it was standing and stood firmly on my abdomen. In no time, I felt a lot of energy around me and I was completely revitalized as though I had a walk in a thick forest so full of fresh revitalizing air. Though I recognized the tree, I still wanted to clear my doubts and I questioned it. “Are you the same Banyan Tree that I saw at the entrance at Guruvannam?” It said yes to me and in an instance it began to acquaint me about the spirit world. It said, “I am guarding this place and am about 326 years old in age. Our ecosystem is in danger because we have no reverence for nature and we have disregard for the sanctity of our own planet. Everyone must contribute in physical form, be it physical activity or monetary help for the reason that we owe our life to Mother Earth. Therefore, appreciation and gratitude towards forests, birds, animals and all living beings must be maintained.

People think that just because trees, animals and birds are mute, they can be meted out with any bad attitude and behavior  by humans. All trees, animals and birds have their own Spirit.  When you cut down a tree, you are taking away a life. Nature is made to serve everybody and serve the utility purpose of humans. Even if you have to cut down a tree you must only do so when it is extremely essential and with prior permission of God as well as the Spirit of the tree itself. Trees also bless you. And they curse you if you loot the Earth mercilessly for greed and avarice. The poor quality of man on this Earth today is due to greed and avarice of majority of people. But there are some who are doing commendable job of restoring the Earth by bringing about harmony, stability and afforestation by restoring the ecosystem and biodiversity in nature.

The tree then began to speak to me with a clear message, “Degradation of the planet is because of greed of millions of people and restoration is by very few individuals. Those who have regards and faith in their spiritual masters will repay them through some service to the Earth by educating those who are dirtying the environment, by greening it, by reducing the carbon levels, increasing oxygen content and correspondingly reducing pollution levels. Reduce non biodegradable things in the atmosphere.  Be a spiritual man and not a materialistic person. Finally, send out prayers and meditation vibrations for preserving our planet.  If the planet survives, we continue to survive.”

Reincarnation-II

30.05.12

Poise   returned. Meditation is therapeutic; it is my medicine, an answer book and my source of undiluted serenity and joyfulness. I rested in composer for a sustained time when out of that imposing peace sprang these divine words….

“About reincarnation or rebirth……People take lives after lives, births after births. They go on living each life without ever wanting to have a desire to accumulate wisdom, spiritual wisdom in true sense. Their mind likes to live in ignorance although it stagnates and eventually putrefies. Each life is a waste of breaths, millions of breaths. In every life the same ignorance is repeated. The layers of darkness, the opaqueness remains intact because of clutching to money, sex, power, material possessions and other Earthly objects. Greed creates new births each degrading than the previous ones. This cycle must stop if you wish to put an end to all the mental and physical sufferings and endless woes and troubles. They will end only if you have spiritual wisdom.

And how does spiritual wisdom come to us?

By constantly doing good deeds, high quality, and unselfish deeds. Deeds that give others happiness, that help people who are in real need. Deeds that will save or regenerate our planet and deeds that will spread goodness and peace around you.

By having devotion and trust towards God.

By serving the Gurus in unconditional manner.

God is very generous, kind and extremely compassionate. We are given life after life. Each life is a chance to reform, to realize, to awaken, to redeem our souls. Our each birth is to enliven the Spirit in us.

We reincarnate so that we gain spiritual wisdom one day, we unfold God’s presence and divinity in us. We reincarnate to sparkle, to dazzle our lives and live our lives with God given acumen, judgement and knowledge. If each human life is lived with God’s grace for the welfare of the humanity, to seek true love of God then reincarnation is a boon, a gift, and a reward from God. If you do so, you are God’s pride, God’s delight!

Reincarnation is useful for those who are pious, merciful, benevolent and free in Spirit. It is bane for those who love darkness, who do deplorable acts, who are naïve and think that actions performed will not be rewarded or punished. And that their actions which are based on arrogance, deceit, hypocrisy, false self-importance, greed, envy and restlessness will give them victory over others. Life is miserable for those who think that the more they possess the desirable objects, the happier they would be.

Reincarnation should be used to flower your soul, to blossom the Spirit, to strengthen the character and be successful in personal empowerment and spiritual growth in every life!

Life is beautiful, human life is precious. Each breath is priceless, each moment expensive. Pray to God to open your eyes, to flood your mind with His wisdom, to give you one lesson each day to know your Spirit and to teach you how to live in pure Love and Light in every incarnation that is bestowed on you as sheer Grace given by God, as mercy from the Almighty Father, the benefactor of Truth, Light and Love.”

Blessing as Self-Realization-I

30.08.13

I began to float lightly in the Cosmic Universe inundated in God’s peace besieged by quietude. I held on to this Supreme gift cravingly and felt even lighter than ever before.

Once the mind is free of all the earthly bindings after cleansing and baptising in the holy waters of ever pure Spirit, it can reach anywhere and it can connect easily to other Spirits straightaway with ease with God’s will, because in the ethereal space there is One Universal Mind and we are all connected.

After this, I promptly got connected to the voice of one forest’s Spirit in the European countries. The soul of that forest arrived unpredictably on its own just after the previous one departed and said, “I am the Soul of a forest in United Kingdom.” Sensing my bewilderment, it said, ”Yes, even forests have Spirits or Souls. This particular forest has a lot of peace. I am gifting you instantaneous healing from the physical discomfort that you are afflicted with at this moment as you have received the bad vibrations of some malicious people living around you. Your unselfish prayers for saving the people from natural calamity have earned you this gift of healing and my undecided sudden appearance.”

My mind raced and thought rapidly before I anticipated I would lose my most unexpected contact with the Spirit of this Forest. So I swiftly asked myself, “What unknown knowledge of the concealed Spirit can I, on the spur of the moment receive from a Soul of a Forest which is engrained with so much peace?” So far I had never communicated directly with the Spirit of a forest, I knew though that all forests, mountains and rivers have a Soul of its own. They all have a guardian as these Spirits. The Spirits are caretakers of the assigned areas for their growth, nurture and protection. Immaculately came the impeccable reply to my running thought, “All the trees in a forest have an individual soul of its own and they emit peaceful vibrations in this forest. All the trees collectively emit united tranquillity and   peace. Each forest has its appointed deity or celestial entity which has a Spirit of its own. It is the responsibility of this forest Spirit to safeguard the longevity and protection of that forest. These Spirits bless or curse humans according to the good or bad actions performed by them correspondingly. The looters, poachers and corrupt people are cursed and are dealt with severely and punished in many ways in due course of time. While the gentle, caring, kind and humane people are congruently rewarded and blessed in so many benevolent ways now and in future lives also in the form of health, happiness and prosperity.

Civil and social unrest may be because of religious, political or cultural conflicting issues, devouring peace of some regions and places of the world. Out of so many ways, one way of establishing lingering peace in such zones is by growing and nurturing forests and trees in a big number. Every human- being must definitely at least once in his life grow many trees somehow. That person will attain instant peace of mind. By planting a large number of trees, a thick cover of peace will blanket this Earth and in moments of human strife, it will act as a buffer in that place. It will make a huge difference there. In case where unfortunately, communal riots and disharmony are struck, peace shall be resumed quicker than usual time because of the forests and trees transmitting quietness, coolness and serenity in the atmosphere. One unknown reason of losing peace from this Earth is felling and losing of colossal number of big, green trees very swiftly from it.”

Blessing as Self Realization-II

10.09.12

The blessing came as Self Realization during my meditation in Swami Shri Dayananda Shaligram’s temple there. He blessed me with a lot of peace as I sat there for quite some time with my still and restful body and mind. Once I absorbed that heavenly peace and felt so good, he set out to give me a long discourse as elucidation.

“There are hardly 25% people in this whole world who know that peace is very essential in our lives. The rest of 75% people are mean, rude, harsh, greedy and selfish. Out of these 25% people who make an effort to gain peace, merely 2% succeed. Peace should be sustainable. To achieve that sustainable peace of mind, there is first strife. After strife and storm comes peace. One has to strive hard to eliminate all the undeserving people, circumstances or events in one’s daily life to gain permanent peace of mind.

Lord Krishna made all possible efforts to bring about peace without a war between the Kauravas and Pandavas but did not succeed because of arrogant and selfish attitude of Duryodhana who did not want peace but instead wanted to avenge his insult and craved to rule the kingdom singlehandedly without sharing the rights of the Pandavas. And so there was a war between the two parties. Arjuna and others had to go through the unbearable painful strife in order to gain peace in their  lives. Mahabharat war was fought for bringing about peace in the land.

Only 2% people gain success in attaining long-lasting and sustainable peace in their lives and more so in the mind because the jigyasu yogi or the ardent persistent seeker will pierce through the three subtle bodies and eliminate them completely. They are sthool, sukshma, kaaran shareer. In translation it means that the striving seeker has to pierce and transcend the physical body, the mental body and emotional body correspondingly. Beyond these three bodies is the Sakshi Atma, the witness, the Self. With prolonged practice of meditation, the three bodies are annihilated one by one as the rays of Universal Energy and Spirit enter the last core region of a human being called the kaaran shareer.  The more the rays of Light enter, the more peace one gets. This takes time but with profound spiritual knowledge gained by the persistent seeker, the last bits and traces of ignorance are burnt and the seeker attains long lasting peace. Such a high yogi gives prolific peace to others in the environment too. Strive hard. You too should bring that sustainable peace in your lives, bring peace in your heart, your mind and in other’s lives too.”

I get a new life, a new Light in Badrinath-II

30.10.12

Later on, Shri Babaji told me, for I loved flowers a lot he decided to attract my attention in this appealing, unusual and quaint manner. It was also an indication that he would give me some knowledge of occultism in future. The world that we live in should not be the limits of my spiritual education and knowledge, he believed.

He further said that the above cited narrative and extra sensory perception of the astral valley of flowers is a native of one of the upmost levels of the seventh skies, or the seventh stage of Consciousness. He asked me to cite this narrative as there is a definite purpose behind it. He wishes to illumine the people and impart them the following spiritual knowledge and wisdom- In his own words,

  • “All the people are after some kind of happiness and that happiness is of the ephemeral, transitory and perishable world. The happiness that they are pursuing will never be found outside; it is to be found inside within oneself with meditation. One is perishable, impermanent worldly happiness of lower order attained by the derivation of the senses and this pursuance culminates in a glut and over supply of sorrow, misery and painful consequences. The humans can even fall in hell because of their compelling bad habits because they become a slave of their senses and finally the senses begin to rule their mind and body.
  • Next are the people who wish to fulfil their yearnings of attaining money, power, status and some who live to bloat in their egos. Such people are bound to be suffering from depression, diseases and discontentment in future. There is no end and limit to find happiness outside; we will be squandering many human lives like this to no avail.
  • Then a few come in this world and uncover everything, and out of them choose what is sacred, pure and revered. They lead a gentle, pious and restrained life.

Those persons, who with their firm, unyielding stiff efforts, try hard in each life, as a final point find long-lasting happiness and God’s bliss one day. This type of long-lasting and stable happiness, ever increasing, and ever widening happiness is beyond the senses. It is defined and termed as ‘ati indriya ananda’ –that which is beyond the senses. Such splendid happiness is experienced by the mind or manas. When the mind approaches God and is very near to it, then such an exotic state is derived by the seeker by the blessing of God and Guru both. Ati Indriya Ananda is achieved with Guru Kripa, Ishwara Kripa.

Everyday remove all your impurities, keep your mind away from contaminations. Concentrate your mind at one point, make it stable. Learn meditation and make your senses, mind and body stable and you will find success in your efforts with the grace of your Guru.

Atma’s nature is Satchitananda.  When your chitt, inner core will become stable in the Light of the Truth  Satyaprakash, you will attain ananda, enraptured bliss. Keep your mind calm, keep it pure; have patience. One day you will also experience the power of God.

Those persons attain Prabhutva Gyan or blazing knowledge never permit any negative thoughts to breed inside. No matter what happens, they never lose confidence in themselves. The path of God is a very long route; there will be many ups and downs. Like a brave soldier, obey the commands of your Guru, and become fearless and march ahead, you will one day reach your journey’s end.

To achieve blazing knowledge, keep your mind stable uninterruptedly. Be alert, the mind should not be unsteady and unbalanced. The storms blowing outside should not enter inside you.  To achieve this, you will require tremendous mental energies. To generate abundant mental energies keep your body healthy, pure, disease-free and synchronized with your mind. The heart and the brain are the two most important organs of the human body. Keep the heartbeat rate steady and stable by regular meditations and physical exercises. Take enough sleep and eat saatvik or pure foods. Lead a life of being morally upright, unblemished and courageous.”

I get a new life, new light in Badrinath-III

10.11.12

The Banyan tree was situated inside a spacious cave cut out of a mountain piece. Its strong and thick roots were holding to the ground tightly and were distributed in all ways. In front of the tree trunk amidst the drizzle of golden rays, was a seat which had a grey woollen blanket. On the blanket someone was seated.  My eyes were keen to know who it was. It was a yogi. I watched this yogi in a mesmerizing spell and awe. I was captivated by his presence and aura. First I saw just the right half of the yogi in meditation whose hair was unusually long and was dropping down freely much below his seat like the hanging roots of the Banyan tree behind him.

Slowly, I saw the full face; it had a radiant golden glow. The body was also brilliant as rays of golden yellow light were coming out of him. He wore an ochre cloth over his body and was meditating with a still body. Now I could see the whole figure and recognized the identity without any doubt or scepticism. I saw myself bending towards him in gratitude and reverence and I had no sense of time or space while I sat there wonderstruck. The vision was now complete. I was in a big cave in a mountain where there was an old Banyan tree. There was a lot of divinity present there and the rays of Golden Light from God, of peace and knowledge were coming towards the cave. I sat there on the ground at his feet with poise, peace and patience. We both sat there in the cave under a big Banyan tree amidst the atmosphere of golden light. Much time lapsed and I was having a glorious time during those wonderful moments.

The yogi began to give me a sermon-

“God is an eternal force. That force is in you, recognize it. This Universe is his creation made of illusion, maya. Separate the maya from Ishwar God. God is infinite and so is his creation endless. The supreme knowledge with which one knows God is also eternal shashwat. Attain that. Separate the perishable body with the eternal Brahma. You are Brahma. You are Eternal. Thou art That.”

Who are you?-I

30.11.12

Part A

He asks us a few questions which we must listen carefully and address them with attention, “Who  are you? What for have you come in this world? What are your goals? What do you want to become? How will you achieve those goals? Who is your guidance?

This life is not for amassing and accumulating tons of gold and other wealth. This life is not for fulfilling your earthly desires. This life is not for fulfilling your pride and satisfying small, irrelevant goals. This life is not given to us for settling scores of many past lives either. Neither is this life meant for pursing conflicts and battles and waging wars on others. We just have to sit calmly in our homes with lot of fresh air and open sky and abundant light to realise that we have come on this Earth with a much, much bigger purpose and meaningful missions. We have come here to know ourselves. We should be able to go deep down inside with the help of regular satsangas, holy company and holy talk and meditation. Contemplation is the outcome of meditation. Wisdom comes with contemplation and practise of yoga of meditation.”

Babaji whispered further, “Then begin your post with that first……Tell them that you are not a seeker anymore. You are a teacher here. In your spare time, you always tell me about all my disciples and the events on the blog. Not once have you felt that the achievements and success of your blog are yours. Your sense of surrender is very acute. You have been discussing the improvement, progress or regression of all the devotees and seekers who have come to you. You pray for them and ask for their deliverance. You have been taking all approvals from me and have acted upon only those ideas and programs which I have favored because you rely wholly on my judicious actions and advice. I have given you telepathic powers so that the communication channel is firm and unbroken with God and me. Your deep sense of discipline, commitment and faith is what I expect from all the other aspiring devotees. If they too will keep their Master on top of everything, they too will surge ahead without any delay in their rapid spiritual development. If they can match the sterling quality of obedience which you possess, they will attain victory, glory and uncontainable joy in times to come.”

Part B

Swami Nityananda threw a question at me so unexpectedly,

“What is the reason that it takes us so long to know our divinity and to unfold it, although it is already present since our inception?”

Translation, original words follow:

“Your weaknesses, flaws, fragilities are the cause of your downfall. Flaws are deeds. Every deed has its consequences. The weight of the consequences has to be carried, and to do that time is needed. New births have to be taken in accordance to those deeds and in those new births, which is a capturing snare, the jeeva or individual soul falls into it.

The knowledge of Self releases us from our darkness. Darkness means vanishing of awareness, doing wrong actions and falling on the wrong path. Whenever we do actions of deceit, betrayal or selfishness, we are forbidden gradually from attaining the knowledge of our Spirit or Atma. This is because we have to bear the consequence of our own wrong actions and we bear them on our body and mind.

Those people, who in the name and guise of religion, dharma are not telling the whole Truth to others, will find their knowledge waning slowly.

And those people who are enjoying  good time in the name of religion or God is only because of some good deeds of earlier life. However, because of their wrong deeds of today, the previous lives’ good deeds will be washed away soon. And that’s why I too call Shri Mahavatar Babaji a Banyan Tree and the rest of today’s new age, modern Gurus are like changing weathers, withering seasonal flowers.

We should once and for all attain that knowledge which will annihilate all our destruction so that we are able to understand a new world, a new life. Those who walk on the Right Path, God will sustain them and their path, and God will give all blessings and give full knowledge.

We must first attain wisdom, knowledge which is so difficult to attain, many lives are required to attain that knowledge. Just like with great efforts we make rose water with roses, so is the hard process of attaining the greatest wisdom.

Once we achieve the highest wisdom and knowledge, we must remain in that state and not err. We must live in that state for a few years after which we will stabilize in it and never come down.”

In his own words:

“Vikar girata hai. Vikar karam hota, karam ka phal hota hai. Karam phal bhogna padta hai, bhogne ke liye hame samay chahiye hota hai kyunki vaisa janam lena padega aur naye janam mei phir ek chakra chal padta hai.

Atma ka gyan humko hamare andhkar se chudata hai. Andhakar matlab chetna ka lupt hona, galat kaam karna and galat raah par padna. Jab jab hum dhokha, jhooth, daga karte hai, swaarth ke karma karte hai, tab tab hum apne aapko Atma gyan se dheere dheere  nishkasit kar dete hai kyunki jo humne vikar, galat kaam kiye hai uska phal hume bhogna padta hai aur use hum shareer aur mana se bhogte hai.

Jo log dharam ke naam par, uski dhal par logon ko pura sach nahi batate, unka gyan dheere  dheere lupt ho jata hai.

Aur jo woh  ab khushi,  aish paa rahe hai woh pichle janam ke achche karam hai, so mila hai. Lekin aajke galat kaam unki sari kamai ko saaf kardenge. Is liye maine Babaji ko Bargad ka Ped kaha aur aaj ke baki sadhuoko,  guruo ko, dharmik guruo ko passing show, aati jaati bahar kaha hai. Woh ek mausam ke phool hai.

Hume ek baar gyan aisa lena chahiye jo hamesha ke liye sari tabahi khatam kar de, nayi duniya, naya jeevan  ko samjhane ke liye. Jo nek raha par chalega, uske raaste ko, aur usko bhagwan banaye rakhega, usko bhagwan poora gyan dega, khoob ashish dega.

Pehle vivek, gyan prapta karna hai jo ke bahut kathin hai, isme bahut janam lagte hai. Jaise desi gulab mei se bahut mehnat se Gulab ka jal banta hai, aise hi kadi mehnat se gyan prarpt hota hai.

Gyan milene ke baad usmei bahut kaal tak rahena hai, koi galti nahi karni hai. Kuch saal usi avastha mei rahena hai, uske baad hum sthir ho jayenge aur kabhi bhi neeche nahi ayenge……..”

Om Guru Narayan Narayan Hari Hari; Guru Narayan Narayan Hari Hari; Guru Narayan Narayan Hari Hari…….

So much is the information coming from the Heavenly Father and our dearest Shri Mahavatar Babaji regarding those celestial communications that this post is being delivered at the nick of time and is spontaneous in nature. Those seekers who are interested and concerned about their future progress will definitely find this post very illuminating after reading it with devotion and veneration.

I learnt with the compassion of God and benevolent and pure love of Shri Mahavatar Babaji through many living examples that it takes anybody a very long time to manifest the inherent Soul inside us predominantly for these reasons-

One has to struggle hard with one’s destiny-

Irrespective of whatever kind of destiny we have, the aspiring sadhak or seeker must at every critical turning point of his life be braver and mightier than those challenging prevailing life situations. Winning those challenges and trials and not bowing down to them by merely keeping the sacred Guru and merciful God shall assist you in this tough attempt. Just a few succeed. The reason is the mind should have a very strong will power to overcome all kinds of precarious life situations like sickness, misfortune, lack of sight and blurredness, resentment, lack of support and apathetic relations to name just a few. The trials could be of any type depending on the karmic pattern of the individual.

Lack of persistence real hard persistence pays. Determination, if added to persistence will help you tremendously if you wish to know your Soul and relieve yourself from the complicated trap of action and reaction and the suffering that comes along with it as we do not know what should be done and should be avoided best.

Lack of undying patience Some problems of life are simple; while many are complex and some other very complex in nature. Those who have patience will persist till their impact wanes.

Gratitude towards God and the Divine Gurus is limited

The concealed characteristic of many individuals to put themselves before others pops up at wrong times as this is basic human nature. But those striving yogis who till the end point put Guru and God before their own selves skip so many of the so called ‘landslides and rockfalls’ of their precarious fates and recover from them quickly as they save them by showering their Grace from time to time. The self-centered person suffers from delusion, the delusion of ‘I’ness while the self-sacrificing and loving yogi marches ahead and is victorious in the end as he is able to win one by one all the difficult and tricky life situations.

To manifest our soul, to recover from the hardships and miseries of the impelling tricky destiny, the following procedure needs to be followed in the increasing order and the Yoga or Union with God attained.

Nadi shuddhi The purification of the energy and nerve channels.

They are spread profusely in the body and can be cleaned and energized by Yogasana and other simple ancient and Oriental mild physical exercises.

Shwas shuddhi The purification of the breath. It is achieved by doing one of the various types of breathing techniques call Pranayam. Even watching the breath is one easy technique for the beginners.

Karma shuddhi Improving the quality of our actions from woeful to gleaming ones. Being ever vigilant and cautious at every moment on each day and watching our actions and forcing them to be always clean, good, selfless and pious. This is of extreme importance for any seeker because any wrong deed can push anybody from a great height in a ditch. Merely doing Yogasana or Pranayam will not suffice. Utmost care and vigilance should be paid by the sadhak in improving the quality of actions in body and mind both.

Mana Shuddhi Purifying the muddy mind by daily meditation, chanting and watchful awareness. It is only after this final stage is arrived that the seeker can attain ‘Atma sakshatkar’ or God realization.

Why does it take a prolonged time for our soul to manifest?-III

20.05.13

Why does it take us so very long to discover our soul?

Lord Shiva expounded to me, “Moksha is mandatory because ignorance is the cause of all human sufferings. The true meaning of Moksha is living the life on the will of God and eradicating ignorance by receiving spiritual wisdom and removing the sufferings of all past karmas today. The past amassed karmas act as a huge hurdle. The good ones are easy and simple to live by but the sins are very difficult to overcome sometimes. But if you follow what I have said, you can achieve that.

When the sanchit or accumulated karmas are exterminated slowly, new virtuous karmas will be created which will be beneficial to you and the society at large. We will not suffer mentally and physically if this goal is achieved. Instead the results of unselfish and virtuous actions done consciously will result in love, peace, happiness, health and longevity. They will also produce the Joy of Spirit and highest ecstasy. The world does not know about this and does not also believe in this theory. So do not preach anyone; they will learn when they observe your good, righteous and pious living. But this takes a long time because the human being learns from his own mistakes and not otherwise.

How to tackle the impact of the difficult accumulated karmas?

It can be achieved by maintaining your peace of mind. All of you worship Lord Vishnu and Lord Buddha in the reclining position without ever finding out the exact denotation of this symbol. Lord Vishnu is shown with either a pink or a blue Lotus in his navel in this special position. Pink is for love and blue represents tranquility.

Profound peace can be attained if you balance all your chakras at the navel, the Kundalini spot. Bring your mind’s attention at it and inhale deeply. You will be supplied extra oxygen in this place which will in turn make your mind absolutely stable. This is one of the many Kriyas to bring a disturbed or an agitated mind at rest and fetch harmony and stability in times of intense crisis. Practice it until your peace of mind is never lost frantically.

Express peace and peace everywhere. With peace of mind, you can achieve the impossible by being grounded and stable. Rest your mind when troubled like reclining Lord Vishnu until peace returns and live your life by the will of God every day. God is the savior, the provider and the biggest healer.”

How to know the Truth?-I

10.07.13

I saluted to Lord Shiva and started praising him by chanting his several names-“Hey Adi Guru, Hey Sada Shiv, Hey Shiv Shankar, Hey Gauri Shankar, Hey Bhole Nath. Bless me, bless all your children. As you have come to me in this auspicious time, I ask you. Tell me what should I convey to the world, the people? I have experienced profound calmness amidst howling tempests since three days. I see an image of a closed door in front of me which must be undone. It is preventing me to upsurge.  I cannot stretch myself and reach you as I see something holding me back. I see many people’s faces, voices and their power of thoughts binding me. They are remembering me, thinking of me and I am unable to fathom what one should do in such a situation. They are seeking me, urging and asking me and wish to know how they should progress. How do they make further spiritual progress? Oh my Lord, open this door. I want to approach you, I strive for you.  I am not able to hold out or withstand the reflections surrounding me of these people who in their hearts and minds are depending on me for personal guidance, spiritual growth and love and care. In today’s meditation I cannot get into the transcendental state because the silent voices of your children stand in my way and complete immersion of my mind is not possible. I pray, kindly give us sermons, give us Light, and tell us how to reach you and how to know the Truth that you hold and hide in you? You are a Soul, a Spirit. From you I aspire to know the soul of the Truth, my sweet Lord.”

In between, I contemplated and whispered to myself, “The Truth has always been there, it always existed. This Earth and the humans are new in comparison to the existence of the Truth. As it has always existed, there should be a means, a path, and a procedure to know this Truth. Some wise men have known this Truth earlier than us in distant past, so how to know this Truth?”

During such intense deliberations, the door that was once closed opened by itself and I could now perceive and grasp as I had arrived at the seventh sky or the seventh level of Divine Consciousness. A very gentle voice, the voice of Lord Shiva started to commune with me and counselled lovingly, “Let me tell you what never has been told before. Your Consciousness is pure. You have done no wrong. Those who love you are seeking you. They look up to you for self-reliance, further guidance and a path to follow. At this time, you have their energies accumulated in your heart chakra, your pranic vital force has been drained. Apply more spiritual powers. Do as I say to you now. Inhale deeply. Exhale deeply. The divine energy is clearing the contents of their thoughts from your physical body with my command. When the thoughts are inside our body, they have chemical energy. When they are emitted, they become electrical energy. Use the power of your will now to disintegrate people’s thoughts in your heart so that they diffuse and break down. Use my energy in your breath and bring it inside your brain. Slight mental exhaustion has ensued and sufficient supply of fresh air will recharge your body and brain.  Fresh oxygen drawn in with your will power will throw out the carbon dioxide.”

I was gratified and became absolutely comfortable as all sorts of mental, physical or emotional weariness wiped out in an instant with Grace. I wished this state could be prolonged as long as possible and that I should derive maximum in such auspicious duration of stints with God. In intense quietude and calmness of body and mind, Lord Shiva reappeared and continued with his sermon. “There are thirteen people who have fixed their minds on you strongly these days. They are seeking guidance, love and rehabilitation guidance because of which the gush in your mental powers has diminished.”

I said respectfully, “But I already feel so re-energized with your kindness. I can resume my work and would very happily spread your sacred words of liberating wisdom. Please tell me what we should do and know next. I desire that you give us a sermon today. What should become the content in my next post?”

With God’s very great blessings in the holy hour today morning have originated these sanctified words of Lord Shiva which I highlight as sermon. Remember them, treasure them deep in your heart and obey these commandments as the holy words of God.  They will reintegrate and consolidate your future spiritual lives to new heights. Such is my belief!

Part B

Sermon “To know the Truth, one should have earned a colossal amount of auspicious and virtuous acts. If somebody makes many mistakes, then the results of those mistakes as well as their misdeeds show up in old age when the human suffers and grieves. Promising and virtuous acts create and amass a power of their own which propels and pushes you forward. This is what is known as the power of action or Kriya Shakti. Just listening to discourses and sermons will not be sufficient; you must also generate new, virtuous actions for producing the force to make you surge forward. Do very good, pious, noble and charitable deeds unremittingly.  It is our fault if we overlook the disadvantaged, rundown, dispossessed and the meek people. Help the impoverished, poor and needy; those who are in distress, those who are weak in body and mind and also those who are deprived. Reach out and give them whatever you can in your might and capacity.

Good deeds will get you peace of mind. It will bring about stability, a sense of equilibrium. In peace you will find happiness. When you find deep calmness and peace of mind within you, you shall know the Truth.

Om Namah Shivaya is a beej mantra, it is very powerful and has intense power of purification, redemption and doing penance. It should be chanted as many times as is possible to clear the ruggedness of past karmas which act as hurdles on your path.

Now wrap up this segment with two continuing posts on the same topic; How to know the Truth?- part II and III. After this, the last post should be on compilation of meditation techniques, subsequently you should take some rest from thinking and writing to refresh yourself.

The disciples should have a method in reading this segment E- New Life New Light. When you discontinue publishing new posts, they should not discontinue with their studies. They should adopt this method of learning and integrating the sacred knowledge and science of Moksha as shown in this section. Read the last 4 articles. Absorb them.  Go to the first few articles and read and assimilate them. Switch to the later posts again and in this way go back and forth till you have read all the posts and feel that the entire content is wholly assimilated in your mind. Ask questions or report when you are satisfied with what has been told to you. Reinforce your new education and make sure that it is applied in your daily life.

The Truth is extremely difficult to find. Harder still it is to realize this Truth. Make severe attempts to cleanse, purify and reorganize your present life in order to integrate the precepts of Truth in your daily life. Until then practice daily any meditation technique to your penchant and worship God by doing virtuous deeds every day with devotion.”

How to know the Truth?-II

20.07.13

Yesterday evening, I sat in twilight meditation and mentally read a mail that a devotee of Shri Babaji requested me to read out. She wanted me to pass on her message to our Holy Master so that we all purify our actions, thoughts and every cell of our being and to bless us all, which I did. I also did my chanting to bring some peace to a relative of mine who is no more and who pleaded me to relieve her of her grief and repentance in the next world.  I too became sad and relived some incidents from our lives which brought unnecessary sadness and dejection. The repentance on her part was for the reason that she did not love me when she was alive.  When I sent her healing holy vibrations of Lord Shiva’s ‘Om Namah Shivaya’ mantra, I felt lighter and better and she felt the same. I prayed to God explicitly to forgive her so that her miseries could diminish and wane and she could rest in peace. Spontaneously, the following words were articulated in silence by me,

Shiva, Shiva, kaalharta, muktidaata

Prabhu sabko shanti do, shanti do”

Just after this, my mind got connected and became in tune with Lord Shiva, who  very kindly once more appeared at my invocation to my utmost surprise and whispered gently, “Shiv ka avahan karo, Shiv stuti karo. Adhunik technology se dard zyada mila hai, mana mei ashanti adhik hui hai. Mansik takat ghati hai aur mana mei pareshaani, uljhan adhik haiPahele manushya ka mana swabhik hi shaant raheta tha. Aaj ka manushya dukhi adhik hai. Uski vedna adhik hai, woh apne padosi se bhi alag thalag ho gaya hai, woh swarthi ban gaya hai, usmei prem nahi hai.Usne rafter to bahut tez banali hai parantu uska mana shaant nahi hai.

Mukti mei jab sanchit karamo ki gathari ka antim karam naash ho kar vayumandal mei vyapt hota hai, to mana mei bahut gahara dukh hota hai kyunki woh karam atyadhik kashtdayi hota hai . Eeshwar atyadhik dayalu hai, woh sanchit karam mei akhri mei woh hi karam rakhta hai jismei manushya ko pahele atyadhik dukh mila ho. Woh isliye aise karta hai kyunki unse hamara dukh dekha nahi jata, woh atyadhik dayalu hai.

Aap sab mujhe pyare ho lekin tez rafter se jo bhi prani mujhe prapt karne ki prabal ichcha mana mei rakhta hai, woh mujhe sarvadhik priya hai. Tez rafter se veh hi mujhe prapt kar payenge jo apne aapko nirmal bana lete hai. Nirmal banna asaan nahi hota hai  kyonki  mana mei prem nahi hota. Kewal uske mana mei nirmal prem ubharta hai jo niswartha hai.

Eeshwar prem hai. Eeshwar prem se bana hai, usmei prem otprot hai. Jitna manushya eeshwarya, maanviya prem se apne hridaya ko bhar leta hai, Eeshwar usmei utna hi prakat hota hai, woh aisa swayam karta hai. Eeshwar vahin prakat hota hai jo mana paavan ho kyunki woh swayam paavan hai.

Logon ke mana mei prem kyon nahi paida hota?Kyonki woh swarthi hote hai.Unka apna laalach, apni khushi hoti hai. Aur jo sabko prem karta hai usey sampoorna shaanti prapt ho jati hai.

Eeshwar prem hai, niswartha prem. Eeshwar ka prem nishkaami hota hai, beshart hota hai, badle mei kuch nahi manga ja sakta.”

Translation

“Invoke Shiva, sing and praise Lord Shiva. New technology has given man more miseries and agitation. Mental strength has diminished and the mind is more edgy than before. Earlier, the man was naturally calm. Today’s man is more miserable than the earlier one. His agony is more, he is not even friendly to his neighbours. There is no love in his heart. Though he has gained speed, his mind is not calm.

During the last moments of liberation, when the last action or karma is being relinquished and gets disintegrated in the atmosphere, at that time the human being is in great distress because that last specific karma is very painful. God is very merciful. In the vast baggage of accumulated karmas, he keeps the very sad ones at the last level. He does this because he is very kind and compassionate and cannot see our miseries and woes.

I love all of you but those devotees who try to attain me very rapidly with a great urge, he/she is my most favourite. Only those will be able to attain me swiftly who make themselves pure in mind. It is not easy to become pure because love is missing; there is deficiency of love in one’s heart. Only that heart becomes pure who is unselfish.

God is love. God is made of love, God is saturated with love. The more and more Godly and human love will be filled in the devotee’s heart, God will manifest itself in the same proportion; and this God does on his own. God manifests only there where the heart is pure because God is Himself pure.

Why does love not flow in people? This is because they are greedy and selfish. They live for their own happiness. But those who love everybody, that devotee achieves grave peace and tranquillity.

God is love, unselfish love. God’s love is unconditional and without any contract.  It is not to be negotiated!”

Question and answers with Shri Mahavatar Babaji

August 30, 2013

Delusion

30.09.10

Cryptic questions and answers that took place between  Shri Mahavatar Babaji and me mentally at the airport while I waited to catch the plane.

Q-Who gets enlightenment?

A- Those whose heart is pure.

Q-When and how can one clean and purify the heart?

A-When the intellect is pure. The intellect should be purified of ego, ignorance, jealousy, fear and all other insecurities.

Q-What is delusion?

A-Doubt, scepticism and confusion. When they cover the mind, the soul is in delusion.

Q-How do we eradicate delusion?

A-By cleaning the heart.

Q-How can the heart and mind/buddhi be purified?

A-By awareness, meditation, selfless activities, kindness and charitable actions.

Q-Why must we eradicate/remove delusion?

A-Because it gives us chains and recycles of birth and death.

Q-What happens in delusion?

A-When we are in delusion, a sort of mirage is created in the mind which in reality is a reflection of the true self-that is yatharth or reality. There is distortion of the vision. When we are covered with distorted perceptions, our actions are distorted. Our judgment goes wrong, we create wrong actions. The consequences of our actions are ours and hence we suffer adversely.

Q-How does one know that he or she is in delusion?

A-There will be bouts of confusion, temptations, frustration for having lack of control over things and most of all, one is uncertain.

Q-What are the correctional methods?

A-Introspection, reflection, contemplation, study of scriptures, listening to the ancient wisdom of the sages and realized entities. And most important of all- correcting your present actions to redesign the future life.

Q-How does one know that he or she is getting the wisdom from the right person?

A-If what you read or hear can be identified with and are convinced, if your mind accepts the mentor or guru’s wisdom and advice and counsel. If your mind does not oppose or contradict his or her knowledge and if you are applying the spiritual philosophy with positive results, then you have found your mentor or spiritual advisor.

Q-If there is a contradiction in mind, what does it apply?

A-It applies that it is the ego which is acting as a wall between the teacher and the learner.

The state of Super Consciousness-II

10.01.11

I envisioned Shri Babaji walking with very quick steps and in this way denoting the urgency of his expedition and importance of time’s utility. I was walking next to him and trying to catch up with him on a hilly ground. He looked very happy and enthusiastic that day or else he is somber and serene. He took me to a very beautiful place full of tall, green trees which resembled fir and deodar. The ambiance was of a thin forest with many trees growing on a mountain top. The shade of the trees was cooling and under it was situated a beautiful pond. It had many colorful lotus flowers floating in it. He took me to the divine pond where the atmosphere was saturated with divine purity and serenity and the place resembled and felt like a paradise.

Babaji went ahead and plucked one lotus flower, then another, then some more and then many more from the pond one by one. The petals had tiny drops of  water on them making them look all the more pure and sacred. The bunch of lotus looked so pretty in his arms and I was cheerful by looking at the lovely bouquet and the image of exuberant Babaji both at one place. Just then, while holding the flowers in his divine arms, Babaji took one white lotus and gave it to me. He looked at me as if waiting for me to express something. I didn’t. After a very short pause, he broke in a spell of mystic laughter and divine joy. He pulled out one purple lotus from his bundle and gave it to me in my hand. I held it in bewilderment and at the same time I was overjoyed at his kind gesture. Without waiting, he now gave me a pink lotus, then a yellow one and a few more one after the other. All the flowers from his arms were in mine by now and in utter amazement I looked at the collection of heavenly lotuses piled up and was absolutely numb because events were occurring  at such rapid and unexpected ways. I stood there totally incomprehensible not knowing what to do or say to him.

He put up a question to me, “Do you know why I gave you the lotuses?” I hurriedly considered a lotus flower in Buddhism, as an emblem in many spiritual organizations, on books and sacred places but I did not know the present connotation and the co-relation. I did not reply.

He had a white lotus in his right hand and with a mysterious smile he said, “White is for purity and peace. Take this.” I now received a white lotus from him.

Babaji had a purple lotus in his hand after this. He asked me, “What is purple for?” I had no answer. “Tranquility”, he replied. “Take this.” I received a deep lavender lotus from his sacred hand.

After all this, he again asked me, “What is pink for?” I stood quietly and wished not to answer.

“Love. Take this lotus also. It is for you.”

“What is yellow for?” Now I gathered some courage and answered in humility. “I don’t know Babaji.” He looked pleased and smiled slightly from the corner of his mouth. He said, “Enlightenment, knowledge. Now take this yellow lotus also.”

In the next moment, an unanticipated development took place. Babaji burst out laughing loudly like an ecstatic yogi and began to dance throwing his hands up in the air, turned his neck round and round and sang with merriment and ecstasy. He then said, “I have given you peace, love, joy, ananda, tranquility and transcendental knowledge to give to this world. I am spreading these virtues through your web log on the net in modern times in this world. From now onwards, more and more people will read and receive these gifts of God from you. My idea of spreading God’s love and peace is successful, is successful, is successful. Then he circled round and round like an intoxicated saint singing and chanting God’s holy name. He resembled Chaitanya Mahaprabhu singing and chanting God’s holy name while diving in celestial bliss.

Understanding by now that it was an auspicious moment granted by God, I did not want to lose the golden opportunity of a very sacred hour. I realized that I would be obliged and my prayers would be surely answered. Therefore I pleaded, “Holy Babaji, I pray to you at this moment and hour, please bless me that I never ever make any mistakes in my present and forthcoming lives. May I always remember God. May my memory of God forever be revitalized and it should never be erased or corrupted. May I always do God’s service, may I always do your work and may I always spread your divine fragrance through your words and teachings.”

Babaji smiled at me softly and with overflowing love said very sweetly, “My sweet child, Babaji becomes pleased with devotion, with love, with sacrifice, with service.   I am pleased with those devotees who have a keen desire for seeking God and serving Him. I fulfill all such desires. And those people who do not have this desire yet, they should instill purity, devotion and love in their hearts. One day, they will also attain God. Once and for all purify your inner being, inner heart. And after cleaning, forever keep yourself in a pure state so that your future lives are pure, beautiful, worthy and for service of humanity. I love those who love God. Today, who so ever will wish for this desire, I shall grant and fulfill it.”

Expand your consciousness-II

20.02.11

It was 4.22 pm when I looked at the time and I closed my eyes to rest a bit. In just a few seconds, I felt an unusual aura of peace in my vicinity and just after that the presence of Mahavatar Babaji on the threshold of my door. Initially I did not believe myself when I sensed his presence. I was elated but confused too. To have  rest, I was relaxing my body when I heard him say inwardly, “Can you not see that I have come to you?” I did not still believe myself and presumed that because I have been so engaged with Babaji and the making of the post, that it must just be a figment of my imagination. So I began to talk to myself and said, “No, no, it can’t be.  I am too tired to concentrate again and focus my mind to connect with Babaji’s exceptional high wavelength. Anyway, why would Babaji come to me of all the people? I have a very long way to go. And in case he has really come, then he must just tell me what he intends to say even though I cannot fix my mind very sharply at this moment and I can’t see him with my eyes open.”

Now, at this instance, I saw two bright bands of colour- bright orange and yellow in front of my shut eyes. Babaji spoke the same thing twice further, “I am standing at your threshold, can you not see me?” Now I was on the alert and ready to act at this moment as it was not my misapprehension anymore I realized. I answered, “It must be  true that you are standing there but I cannot see you although my extended right hand is sensing your presence and divine energy.   I guess you are standing at the threshold. Please hold my hand  Babaji, so that my arm absorbs your given message of your arrival and presence which I shall translate and interpret after I am fresh and energized. How can I ever lose this rarest opportunity? But I am too tired now.”

Once again he quipped, “Do you remember the instance of Yukteshwar on the Ganga’s  Rai ghat when I went to visit him in Srirampur after he completed  his book Holy Science?”  (Consult AOY chapter 36)

I could easily recollect the episode but I still could not fathom why all this was being reminded to me. I saw no connection at all. Finally he said, “You need more practice of concentration, fix your eyes on the central point between the eyebrows and remain like that as long as you can. You should concentrate at the third eye to control the wavering prana, the life force. Random thoughts keep pulling your mind from concentrating at one single point. To go higher up, one should be able to prolong the attention at kutastha, the spot between the two eyebrows which is the door to Heaven or the realms of Super Consciousness.

You cannot see me in my astral body because I am at a very high wave length of energy. To be able to commune with me for a longer duration, you should practice meditation in depth and duration. The Banyan Tree in Lumbini will teach you more how to have strong will power and to be absolutely selfless in nature. If you have a very dynamic will power, you shall be able to expand your consciousness with each passing day. So practice meditation with a dynamic will and desire.”

The role of ‘power of will’ in a seeker’s life-II

10.05.11

His holiness Mahavatar Babaji who has unlimited compassion and mercy on all  humans and every creature alike, responded to my prayers in no time during my meditation and telepathically transmitted this liberating education or Moksha Vidya on this fortunate day. He thus began with a question and gave answers in the form of cryptic solutions to the crippling ignorance of humanity-

“How did Arjun get spiritual knowledge?

Because of detachment, vairagya .

When there is detachment or vairagya in life, there is desire or will to know God. But before those situations which give you detachment come, concede and kindle a yearning and a will within you for liberating yourself so that your future is laden with bliss, happiness and absolute peace. It is you who has to develop this will after which I shall help you.

The power of will is a gift to us from God with which we accomplish all our undertakings and tasks. First comes the will to do something; God comes to our rescue later, he sends us help to accomplish all that we wish to attain. But prior to all this it is you who should have the initiative in your heart to do something grand, something new, something huge.

Similarly, only if and when the human being is ready to get rid of his dimness and unawareness, only after such a will is awakened in him, only after he possesses a will to liberate himself that such an  aim is accomplished at an appropriate time.”

Acquainting about himself, Shri Mahavatar Babaji disclosed,

“Before my present incarnation, I had a burning desire to help mankind, to salvage them from ignorance and do good to all in the world. So when I was born this time I was born with the same power. Therefore, the spot at which I was born still radiates powerful rays of my power of will. There is a yantra or geometrical figure at this spot which till this date radiates powerful rays of my power of will . You must benefit from it by focusing your mind on this spot in your meditations and the power of will be ignited in you and you shall be gratified.”

And about me he informed, “You were born with a burning desire to free yourself from the bondage of the fruit of your actions. Therefore when the right time arrived, I quickly sent you to Yogananda(YSS),  Nityananda and Shaligram (Ganeshpuri) and to The Mother (Pondicherry) for your spiritual education. They all are your gurus, Masters and I am your Param Guru, Highest Master. The will to cover up and complete your karmic obligations was so intense that you fulfilled it in the minimum time possible.

The time taken by any seeker or learner to accomplish and complete his spiritual duties and obligations is entirely dependent on the extent of will power possessed by him or the will generated by him within himself. It takes as much time as he decides to free himself. God is very merciful; God will not initiate or stop the help and cooperation that he sends through nature unless you want it. Therefore reduce that time and meditate on God and pray to Him right now.”

Why is peace so essential for a seeker?-III

10.08.11

All these days while I was thinking about what and how should I blog during such times of commotion and complete uncertainty, I waited all along and had complete faith in my param Guru Shri Mahavatar Babaji who has never failed me and he is the one who guides this blog. I maintained my calmness and was positive that I will publish my new post before midnight of 10th August.

Surely enough I woke up very fresh and energized today after I had a short dream in which I saw Babaji, who was in meditation as he sat under a massive Banyan Tree.  Incidently this time he did not sit at the trunk of the tree but between the pillar-like numerous thick roots of the tree.

I wondered about the symbolic meaning of this atypical view. Before I could even decipher it, He spoke to me in a very soft whisper, “I can see that you are mixing with all kinds of people and are suffering because you have to mix with people of very low mentality. This has caused depletion of energy yet you are firm and stable in your goal to enter a post without skipping the fixed date. The Banyan Tree here has already blessed you as you are serving me but since you had no time to devote to concentration, let me tell you that you will complete this assignment without any delay. Write another post on the importance of peace for a seeker because a seeker faces similar problems like any other person in the world but his approach to the problem is different.

A good seeker will maintain his peace of mind because he is certain that no matter what sort of difficulty he is facing, his guru will always be by his side, no matter what. Although in special cases and particular times, the guru will remain silent because he will set aside some time for you when the karmic pattern of the concerned person is such that he must suffer for the past misdeeds. The guru allows his disciple to suffer little bit because he is teaching him silently to learn from his past mistakes. As soon as the disciple accepts his mistakes and regrets his bad deeds, the guru will send you the message that from now onwards, lead a pious and peaceful life. That is what I do to my children when I have to teach them an important lesson but very silently! Having said that, please know that I never leave my children, no matter what sins they have committed. It is up to you how soon you want to realize and which next lesson you wish to take from me. Therefore, do not feel disappointed, wake up and get on the next important lesson. Do not give up hope and maintain your peace and calmness. My spiritual guidance and help will reach you through this blog, I speak to you and the readers can connect with me through the regular  entries here. All the answers will be received by them through this medium and they should hasten up their recovery and speed as fast as they can.

Now about the roots that you saw in your dream. Today in the early hours you saw me meditating under the numerous thick roots of a Banyan Tree. Roots hold the tree to the ground and supply food. Similarly, I am those strong roots by which you should hold tightly in order for me to nourish you.”

About me he said- “Increase your Kriya Shakti. You are undergoing states where you are swinging between two extreme mentalities- the highest and the lowest. Yet it is possible to cope up with the current state wherein you increase your working capacity by altering your food, holding on the lingering peace and maintaining silence for brief periods whenever possible.”

He continued, “Those of you who have firm faith in me will realize that permanent peace and sustainable bliss is only possible when we clear our past baggage of bad karmas. Once the cleaning process is over, you shall attain permanent peace and wondrous joy which permeates your Soul. Until then, stay connected to Sarika, tell her about your dilemmas she will answer to all your personal as well as family problems and help you to withstand the difficult period. Difficult times are good as they teach us the most and once you are clean and pure you shall find peace within. Endure and clear up whatever you have accumulated as karmic baggage and receive divine peace and bliss from me. I shall never let you down.

Once you reach the state of sustainable tranquility and peace you shall reach the state of bliss. Peace and bliss are in Atman. Our Atma has complete happiness, peace and bliss. Attempt to reach a state of divine communication where in you can access to these attributes at ease. My blessings are with one and all and I hear even the most faint whisper of my devotee; I send immediate respite to them. Receive me well with all your attention and I shall never dishearten you. Pray to God day and night to alleviate you from the sorrowful state to the state of enduring peace. Peace, peace, peace to all. Om Shanti Shanti Shanti!!”

Our lost rich heritage-II

20.11.11

After being in bliss some moments flew by and I began hearing these ragas played in flute like words in my inner ear as though there is someone who is talking to me mentally sitting far away. The mental transference began from the remotest cave in the Himalayas to the island city on the Arabian Sea here in Mumbai, the overcrowded commercial capital of India. I could see a silver string originating from Shri Mahavatar Babaji in that cave and running all along the way and terminating on me. A silver coloured string, which was actually a telecommunication  path, was seen between the two of us-me and His Holiness Shri Mahavatar Babaji. As soon as I comprehended that a communication channel has been established between both of us, I heard these gracious words coming to me from the caves near the mountainous region near river Alaknanda in the Himalayas-

“Whenever your mind is so impeccably united and connected with me, there is a bond, a telepathic conveyor, a telecommunication path built between us in the astral space. At this moment I am in deep meditation and I am speaking to you through mental communication or telepathy.”

I could again see Shri Mahavatar Babaji sitting in a perfect lotus posture with my inner vision.

“When two people have strong love and understanding for each other, this phenomenon occurs on the subtle astral plane. Just a few know and appreciate this means of communication.”

I was absorbing wholly what was being given to me with my heart so full of gratefulness.

“Now tell me, what is the cause of man’s pathetic living condition on this Earth today?” an unexpected question was thrown at me.

“Ignorance”, I replied to him without losing any time for thinking.

“Ignorance and lack of foresight,” he said. “Man has been living on this planet since millions of years. It has taken him millions of years to evolve and make this Earth fit for living. Many civilizations with their glorious cultures, race and heritage have risen and fallen back in dust. Awesome structures and cities were built and have been razed to the ground, so many men have come and so many have gone. They have left behind some of their essence, their essential core being behind for us to know how developed they were in terms of creativity, sculpture, literature, knowledge and realizations. The essence of man’s spiritual awakening as well as knowledge is embedded in the Holy Scriptures now.

However, because man lacks foresight, he has not been able to preserve the past inheritance and legacy so richly endowed with their experiences, knowledge and hindsight. Because of lack of foresight in humans, they do not acknowledge and preserve the inherent knowledge stored in scriptures, realized souls as well as in the illumined Masters. Sacred knowledge is passed on by the realized Masters to their chosen devoted disciples who have faith and devotion in their Masters and is in this way stored and preserved through ages, eras and civilizations.

Our past builds our future.

Those who wish to have the sacred knowledge must know their Spirit. The Spirit has the hindsight and all the knowledge is endowed in it. The Spirit has the foresight that will prevent you from regressing in your soul.

Practicing meditation alone will not help. One must plan his future, plan the coming events well, plan his life thoroughly and should have a vision, a sight for himself/herself.

To materialize those goals, one has to do karmas, actions accordingly. Correspondingly, your karmas have the ability to shape your future. They have the potential, the power, the shakti endowed in them. Unleash that energy that is stored in the karmas, unleash that power of manifestation that is stored in your karmas!”

Silence of the soul-I

10.12.11

About ten days ago, Shri Mahavatar Babaji advised me to do meditation on Om. He said, “Go inside. There is Om inside you, meditate on it.”

And then he once again repeated what he had told me earlier, “There was a time when there was nothing in this Universe –shunya. Only Brahma existed, it was only silence that existed. And then out of the shunya, came the  sankalpa  or thought of God. Out of this thought of God, in peace and silence the srishti,  the Brahmaand or the Universe was created. After the creation of the Universe, the very first sound that originated at that time in this Universe was Om.”……………………….

Once this was achieved, I only heard nonstop Om first in my head and then in my whole body. There was not a speck or decibel of any sound inside me apart from Om and the continuity of this mystical sound was awesome and the phenomenon breathtaking. Nothing compares this experience to any experience of the world that we live in and I made sure that my mind is anchored firmly at one centre to be able to lengthen this magical experience. And just as I was able to get enough of it, I entered  shunya , the silence. Ah! At last the silence of my soul was touched. It was a thoughtless state where nothing happened, no sound and no thought-pure Brahma, the purest Brahma. It was as if at last I was able to lay a hand on the last level of the infinite ocean.

All along very gently I was reaffirming to myself that I am this, I am Om; this is what I am truly, this is my real identity.

Babaji again showed me the creation of Universe and presence of Brahma and the similarity of the two experiences- one now and here and the other at the point of eternity.

I envisioned after this a complete movie like vision in my inner eyes of our planet rotating continuously tilting at its axis after which the planet vanished and I saw nothing. This state of nothingness endured for a short while as I travelled back in eternity to fathom the state of affairs even before the Universe was created. Once I reached at that time, I experienced in me that there was only silence that existed before the planets were created and it is the same silence or shunya that I have just experienced now at this moment after I heard Om in my body. This goes to prove that the same Om which existed as the first sound in this Universe and the shunya or silence that existed before Om  are the same two things which still exist in this Universe and they are the same two things that are present in me too. In other words pure Brahma is in me and the sacred sound Om is present in me even now. It is the same thing and I just rediscovered them during those most auspicious moments of my life!!! Never before could I get so close to it!!

Pujya Babaji has told me that there was only nishabdi brahma  and silence before the earth was formed billions of years ago. Once the earth was created and formed, the first sound that was born and emanated was that of Om. The same sound still reverberates and is heard in the silence of nature, forests, oceans and seas even now.”

Silence of the soul-II

20.12.11

One day recently,  Babaji out of his own wish blessed me by cascading  more illuminating knowledge on me which is so essential for a growing yogi  on his path of self realization.

Mahavatar Babaji answered the following spontaneous questions raised by me when there was a connection between the two minds in meditation in the wee hours of 15.12.11

Me- “What is beyond shunya ?”

Him- Brahma. After silence of the soul you shall reach your Spirit.

First is peace, then joy, and then the soul arrives at silence. After prolonged continuity with the Spirit of the Guru, with his mere kripa if the disciple persists to do intense good karmas, the guru shows the disciple the omnipresent Universal Spirit, Brahma. Brahma is beyond silence.

One must meditate on Brahma, the Universal Spirit. In reinstating, the jeeva or soul of the individual does not return to the normal world of cause and effect, the unending cycle of birth, decay and dying. Rather, the soul lives each life and each day of every  life in dedication to Guru and complete surrender to God. In this way, there is no action that is initialized by his disciple and hence no undesirable effect of that karmas which in return give the highly developed yogi  stable peace of mind and joy. There is so much freedom in such a mind and that is what Bhagwan Buddha at that time was telling all in so many different ways  to free themselves from the impact and result of one’s own karmas and  consequently get rid of all the sufferings of mind, body and soul in innumerable lives. This is what is meant by liberation and moksha of one’s soul.”

Why was I sent to so many heritage sites by my Param Guru??

21.03.12

Since I returned from Khajuraho Mahavatar Babaji has given me many new spiritual lessons and insights, some of which can be shared with all of you. They are-

“Liberation or Moksha is a very long journey. It takes many lives to conclude the futility of one’s ego and desire and material clinginess. Just a few are successful in this long marathon full of births and deaths. Those who succeed are blessed by God as they nullify all their bad karmas and afterwards regenerate innumerable virtuous karmas because of which they never fall again in the web and maze of repeated life cycles.

The Maha Guru after enlightening you will again send you to those main landmarks in your soul journey so that you can recall how much hard you have strived to reach a stage of complete purity or nirvikaar, the stage of Brahma, a stage of perfection. The uppermost chakra called the Brahmarandra is the most difficult to open and recharge and happens only with the blessedness and grace of the gurus and God.”

I get a new life, a new Light in Badrinath-II

30.10.12

My silent conversation with Shri Mahavatar Babaji during meditation-

Shree Babaji-“Regarding the depth and duration of your meditation, the duration has increased but further depth needs to be acquired, go further inside.”

Me- “How?”

Shri Babaji-“By relenting  the thoughts that inhabit your persona or aura. Become aware of them. You are very serious inside but cheerful from outside. Your sensitive heart should not be allowed to harbour or cling to the anxieties or concerns of other people’s wrongful living. You should not feel sorry for them because they are misled by their own shortcomings. Clear this now in meditation and in future do not hold on to these wavelengths. Just do the right actions towards them all, do good to all and once the good acts are done, do not contemplate or brood over it. Do not think of them at all. Free yourself of those thoughts because they are from lower consciousness and your saatvik energies will drop. The removal of such thoughts will create some empty mental space. Fill that space with Brahma”

He initiated me by pronouncing, “Anahat tak jana hai jo shunya ke baad aata hai. Shunya ke bad naadghosh hota hai jahan par yogi  ke mana mei  akasmaat Om sunaee deta hai ya phir sundar ghantiyon ya ghanti ki awaaz. Shunya se pahele shanti aur ananda aata hai.

Mana jab shunya mei hota hai tab shabdaheen, vicharheen hota hai. Yah mana ki gaharaee se hota hai isliye kaha jata hai mana ko aur gahara le jao. Is awastha mei jitni der raha paogee, utna eeshwariya sukh milega. Yah guru kripa se milta hai. Jisko sansari aadmi kalpana yogya bhi nahin hai, yeh woh sukh hai. Isliye dhyan mei baithne ke liye merudand ko aur majboot banao jisse tum aur der tak sukhasana mei baith pao.

Aise samay mei apni aakhon mei dekho, tumhe prakash aata dikhaee dega. Woh mere mei se aa raha hai. Tumhara mana har tarah se  mujh mei doob chukka hai aur jab- jab tum mera smaran karogi, tumhe prakash dikhayee dega. Vah jyoti tumhe Brahma ka gyan degi jo ati durlabh hai. Vah anek janmo mei ekatrit punya uday hone par prapt hota hai.

Brahma prakash hai, Brahma gyan hai, Brahma chetna hai. Is chetna ko apne andar sada  jagay rakho. Brahma prakash punj hai, apne andar usey sada prajvalit rakho. Brahma sada tumhari raksha karta rahega. Brahma tumhari chetna ko prajvalit  karta rahe  is sandhya aisi manokamna karo….”

English translation.

“Go upto   Anahat  which comes after shunya. After shunya comes naadghosh , a state where the yogi suddenly hears the sounds of Om or of melodious bells or a bell. Before shunya comes peace shanti and bliss ananda .

When the mind is in void or shunya, it becomes speechless and thoughtless. This state comes with the depth of the meditative mind therefore it is advised that you take your mind further deep. The longer you prolong your stay in the deeper levels of your mind, the more you shall attain happiness originating from God. Such a state of mind is achieved with the blessing of Guru. That which is incomprehensible to the worldly man, it is that very joy and bliss. Therefore make your spinal cord stronger to enable you to sit for longer hours in meditation in sukhasana, a comfortable yogic pose.

During such times, look inside your eyes, you will see light. That light will come from me. Your mind is completely immersed in me in every sense and whenever you will remember me, you will see light. That light will give you the knowledge of Brahma which is very hard to achieve. The knowledge of Brahma is attained with the releasing of uncountable pious actions accumulated over many lives lived before this birth.

Brahma is Light. Brahma is spiritual wisdom. Brahma is Consciousness. Always keep the flame of that consciousness kindled in you. Brahma is a cluster of Light, Prakash Punj. Brahma will always protect you. May that Brahma always keep your consciousness ablaze, have such a yearning this evening….”

What is inside our soul-I

2.03.13

The soul’s penchant for re-connection with the Divine grew fonder but I not knowing what was happening exactly. The pull was strong enough that indeed many a times, I have gone to those spots again in holidays to revive those ecstatic times while at play. Whenever in youth I thought of good times, these memories would pop up several times again and soothed and appeased was my soul many times more when I reminisced about those green pastures to and fro. I thought it was the nature’s magic or just the childhood spectrum of naughty, playful activities.

“No, said the Grand Master. Not once was it ever a child’s play! It was an act of an advanced yogi who had experienced this exclusive interplay of magic and God’s display; not just in the childhood of this incarnation but prior to this stage and previous human plays. Go back to it again now and you will once again fall in deep ecstasy because the yogi gets this gift from God for the priceless deeds done in times of unselfish heart and mind’s performances. It was achieved before you were born now and got carried with you as your wealth of last days. Prior to this also, you have spent hours in isolation and solitude with nature and God and have asked for boons beyond palaces, rubies and gold. The yogin realized that nothing is permanent in this constantly changing world; what comes now must go. Why not go after something that would go with me as and where I go? So you have inside you glimpses of spiritual bliss earned in last incarnations and that which you were blessed with even at the tender age of four!”

I said, “Who knows if this was spiritual bliss or merely the magical play of the soothing elements in the surroundings that nature gifts as cool breeze over waters of a river or the plentiful drifting clouds and sky in blue?”
“If this was merely the tender heart’s fancy, you would not have fallen so easily into deep ecstasy so naturally at this ripening age too. The Master can only give you the environment but the soul must have the seed and the soil ready to bloom so beautifully! In many incarnations you have tried to bloom in soul. Many lives have gone in perfecting your soul but not in vain.”

I became a child again at the Holy Feet of my most beloved and graceful Divine Spiritual Master. The child’s curiosity again forced me to know from the All knowing Master’s Vast Ocean of memory during my exclusive moments with Him a few days ago at the sacred morning hour of four when the world was in deep drowse and I arose. I penetrated and looked deep inside me and wished to know.

“What is inside the soul?”  I asked
“Joy, pure sublime Joy! It possesses innocent, lingering and never ending pure Joy.

The garden is blooming and the soul is full of perfume of pristine joy and deep ecstasy. If you will share this with others, they shall get a glance of the soul that they possess if they will peep in.”

How to manifest our soul?-I

30.03.13

There are two places or spots which are most sacred, although the entire area is calm, peaceful and holy. More than 1800 years ago, Babaji came here from Kashi, India and meditated in a very dense forest where no one could even penetrate. Babaji was free of every particle of Maya, yet he did intense penance for others and our Earth. He meditated for many days under a Banyan Tree without food and water and wished not to be disturbed. Unfortunately, one wood cutter who was filled with the raging desire of cutting this very Banyan Tree could not be stopped by anyone and in spite of being warned repeatedly of the alarming dangers, he went ahead and cut the same tree under which Babaji had meditated intensely. After a few days, the woodcutter was so full of guilt and shame that he took away his own life by hanging from a tree.

The office bearer whom I met this morning, told me disappointedly that they have been trying to plant a Banyan Tree again at the same spot where there is a modest temple of Babaji today, but all their efforts have failed. The new Banyan Tree that they plant, die and do not survive. This piece of information intrigued me and I was very curious to know the reason behind the dying of the Banyan Trees at the holy spot where Babaji once did intense penance and meditation.

During my meditation a while ago, our dearest Babaji told me, “The wood cutter was already cursed even before he cut my Banyan Tree and the curse lingered. The curse was because of his acts of deep ignorance. But there is another Peepal tree or Bodhi Tree in this precinct where I had also meditated which is alive with my energies today. I used to meditate under it after the Banyan Tree was cut. You have already written about it (The state of Super Consciousness-I) that it has tremendous Sankalp Shakti and therefore you have come to this holy spot again to make an intense and strong resolution and to meditate with that resolution under the Bodhi Tree. It shall be fulfilled.

Seekers who have unconditional love, complete faith in their Holy Master, shall be blessed with more courage and physical and mental strength to pursue further learning by dynamic meditations. So utilize this time and go very deep inside until you know the inner most depth of your soul. Inhale my presence in this holy place through your mind and breath. Instil peace and calmness that will not break continuity of your mind with me. Distribute this Divine knowledge to those who surrender to you and who please me. Do not extend help to those who are densely ignorant and covered with mud of darkness because the sacred knowledge of the Divine is given at the mercy and the will of God to those who have surrendered their individual self at the lotus feet of their holy Gurus. Invoke love and gratitude in those hearts that are willing to serve others and refrain from those actions in which you lose your precious time.

I bless all of you if you will make special efforts to go deep within yourself and contemplate. Remove all the remaining portions of your ignorance by doing daily meditations, praying and maintaining silence. These actions will purify you and make you peaceful. The manifestation of soul is due to prolonged peace of mind. Manifest your soul with the lingering peace of the Divine within you. Om Shanti, Shanti, Shanti Om.”

Why does it take a prolonged time for our soul to manifest?-II

10.05.13

Dear readers, we were discussing the reason why does it take the human soul to manifest so exceedingly late before the description of the exclusive experience was narrated. Why does it take so, so long to manifest our soul?
One of the main reasons what Shri Mahavatar Babaji explained to me was that we human beings are drowned in our ignorance and do not have the realizations of the eternal Truths. We do not know that there is God’s presence on this Earth, around us and even inside us. We do not surrender to that all pervading Force and we go on doing endless, erring karmas which are detrimental and harmful to us. If we once understand that our life is sacred, temporarily given by God to only manifest that divinity in us, we shall be blessed.
There is a certain order, a definite mechanism governed by God which we are unable to see because of the dark covering of our weaknesses of evil thoughts, greed, immorality, falsehood, lust, anger and many other human shortcomings and flaws. The aim of pursuing spirituality should be living each day and each moment surrendering to the sweet will of God, the Supreme. If we are not driven by our weaknesses, we can slowly bit by bit uncover the pure, joyous incredible soul in us. Living with the brightness and beauty of our soul shall remove all our miseries, illness, misfortunes, ill luck, unhappiness and mental depression. Divine Will or the initiative of God is not known to humans and we begin to live by our own ideas and egocentric habits.
Today lack of morality, no faith in God and greed to consume has forced the humanity to come to a point of no return and create a sick society.
The entire world worships Lord Krishna in various glorious forms of life roles that he had donned when he was alive. Krishna means Universal Spirit. But who meditates with Krishna’s Presence inside to get AtmaSakshatkar?
So learn to meditate to stop the disturbed, agitated and avaricious mind to anchor to the divine presence in you. The Divine is present in us but we cannot access it because we are already preoccupied with incessant senseless direction of our life because of desires, egocentric activities and engrossed in worthless possessions. You will know God’s will if you meditate with pious intentions with a sincere and earnest mind. Bring yourself more closer to God in times of God communication and say your prayers with all your love and devotion.

Maam Ekam Sharnam Vraj…….
Sarvadharmaanparityajaya mamekam sharanam vraj I
Aham tyaam sarvapapebhyo mokshyishyami ma shuch II

Resigning all your duties to Me, the all powerful and all pervading Lord, take refuge in Me alone. I shall absolve you of all sins, worry not.
From Bhagwad Gita chapter 18, verse 66.

What is Truth?-III

30.06.13

My mental dialogue in my meditations with the Jagadguru Maharaj Shri Mahavatar Babaji coincides with the relevance of today’s topic. It was held sometime during my quiet moments with him in May end and sometime later in early June. My thirst to learn from Him about the eternal Truths remains unquenched. It is again offered at the Holy Lotus Feet of the Great Himalayan Master as a small offering of obeisance and love from me to Him-

Dialogue

S-Mana sundar kab hota hai?

MB-Sundar! Wah sundar tab banta hai jab usmei Eeshwar jaagta hai.

S-Bhagwan mujhse kya chahta hai?

MB-Bhagwan chahta hai tumhare se prakash failey, Satya ka prakash, woh prakash jo sada se hamare andar hai. Eeshwar chahata hai ki hum unko jane kyunki saaransh sari maya ka Brahma mei hi hai. Brahma ko janane ke bad humko kuch janne ke liye hoga hi nahi.

S- Satya ko janana itna kathin kyun hai?

MB-Apne karmo evam sanskaron ke kaaran. Jeeva ko sanskar ulti disha mei udakar le jaten  hai, Maya mei. Iske banispat, Eeshwar ko janne ke liye humey ek jagrit Atma ki avashakta padti hai jisse hum swayam ko jane. Hamari Atma mei satya hai. Usme gyan hai, bodh hai. Woh gyan sada raheta hai chahe din ho ki raat, jagrit ya nidra, swasthya ho ya rog, harsh ya shok. Satya ka viprit hota hai andhkaar.

S- Satya kya hai?

MB-Eeshwar, Brahma, Satya ek hi hai. Woh sada se hamare paas tha, humko uska saath nahi mila kyonki maya daayan jaisi humko pahele lubhati hai, phir bhulati hai phir rulati hai. Is Satya ko samjho aur jaano. Sansara nashwar hai. Prakriti mei vinash aur rachana dono hote rahete hai hamesha.

Mana ki maya shanti bhang karti hai. Mana ki gehri maun mei Satya ko jaano. Param shanti Brahma mei hai, usey mahsoos karo apne mana ke andar. Usko dhyan se payo, man mei tatolo, wahin us tahey ke andar, Satya ka nivas hota hai.

Eeshwar ko prem se mana ke andar pukaro, avahan karo, woh prem ki bhasha bahut jaldi samajhta hai. Usey sab bodh hai, usey mana ki bhasha sabki saralta se samajh aati hai. Yadi mana ke andar Eeshwar ke liye prem nirmal ho, to tumhare andar Eeshwar tumhare saamne aajeayega, tum usey pyaar se pukaro apna samajh kar. Mana ko dheela chod kar pure aaram mei aakar Eeshwar ka avahan karo, wo avashya tumhari mana ki sachchi baat ko pura karega.

S- Samadhi kya hai?

MB- Shaant antarman se phuta hua Eeshwariya ananda, ya Eeshwar se gahera avirodh yoga ke akasmaat avsar, jismei kewal Satya ka anubhav ho. Yah mana ki ati shaant awastha hoti hai. Kabhi kabhar shwas Atma ki gaheri shanti mei parivartit ho jati hai. Sadhak ko is awastha ke liye ghor prayatna karna chahiye, usey apne kalyan ke liye samay nikalna hoga.

Samadhi hamari sahaj awastha hai. Is awastha mei sansara ka beej lupt ho jata hai. Isliye paripakva saadhak ko sansari baton se mana ko door rakhna chahiye and mana ke aakhri taheh tak jana hoga apni Atma ko choone ke liye. Samadhi Atma ki swabhik awastaha hai.”

Translation

S-“When is the mind beautiful?”

MB-“Beautiful! It becomes beautiful when God awakens in it.”

S-“What does God want from me?”

MB-“God wants you to spread Light, the Light of the Truth. That Light which is in us since the beginning. God wants us to know Him because the essence of all Maya, the delusion is embedded in it. After we know Brahma, there will be nothing left for us to know.”

S- “Why is it very hard and difficult to know the Truth?”

MB-“Because of our own karmas, and the sanskaras.”

The embedded sanskaras (hidden tendencies) take the ‘jeeva’ (soul) in Maya in the opposite direction altogether. While to know our self, we need a direct contact with a Divine soul who is already awakened. The soul in us is the Truth. It has knowledge, a sense of knowing irrespective of day or night, sleep or wakefulness, sickness or health, joy or gloom. The opposite of Truth is darkness.”

S-“What is Truth?”

MB-“God, Brahma, Truth is all the same. It was with us throughout but we could not associate with it because of the enchantress Maya. It initially bewitches us, and then makes us deluded and forgetful and later makes us cry. Understand this Truth and know this Truth. This world is impermanent. Creation and destruction both go on in Nature all the time.

The delusion or Maya spoils the peace of your mind. Know the Truth in the silence of the mind. The ultimate peace is in Brahma, feel that in your heart. Attain that deep peace with meditation; search inside, after that deep layer beyond the mind you will find Brahma.

Invoke God with love in your heart, call Him, He understands the language of love very swiftly. He comprehends everything; He understands every one’s language of the heart effortlessly. If you have pure  love for God inside, God will appear inside you, in front of you; invoke Him as your own beloved. Relax your mind and call upon God; He will truly respond to your sincere calling.”

S-“What is Samadhi?”

MB- “The spell of raptures of euphoria, Divine’s pure bliss, or spells of direct uninterrupted deep connection and union with the Universal Divine Spirit where only Truth exists is samadhi. It is a state of very profound silence. Sometimes breath concludes into silence of the Spirit. It is our natural state and should be pursued by the seeker when he spares time for his own good and welfare.

Samadhi is our natural state. It is a state of lack of worldly thoughts born out of the bubble of the mind’s samsara. So the layers of worldly tendencies should be curbed by the senior advancing sadhak  and attempts to touch the base of the Spirit touched to gain Divine’s Truth. Samadhi is Atma’s most natural state of being.”

Why is it important to know our soul?-II

Introduction

Spiritinlife blog is for those who are desirous of gaining right spiritual knowledge and seeking moksha or liberation in modern age from the bondage and slavery of the results of past deeds and actions effected in many past lives by one’s soul.

The source and origination of the sacred liberating knowledge has to be from an erudite and wise soul who has himself/herself experienced all the metaphysical aspects related to the whole process of the liberation of the bonded soul. It takes years and innumerable lives to perfect the soul. Until the knotted and tangled soul untangles itself from its own catching and web mire , it is never possible to experience the Truth about God!

The background

From ‘Thanjuvar, panorama of Brihadeeshwar temple’.

“This much for the back ground of the temple. However, there had to be a larger cause to visit this extraordinary place, one of the oldest Shiva temples in India. Shri Mahavatar Babaji tells me that as a special gesture and out of kind-heartedness towards his devotee, he sent me to this holy place so that the sins of our lineage would be cleansed and peace would return to some of our forefathers who are in a turmoil even now in some other world because of their past misgivings…..I am speechless at the volume and intensity of graciousness showered at us by the holiest and most sacred Guru, Shri Babaji. I prostrate before him humbly and thank him abundantly for being so kind to our past generations whom I don’t even know, yet have made a contact in my meditations and in return earned their profuse blessings……. This one is dedicated to Lord Shiva for relieving the pain of so many unknown faces and giving them deep peace after ages of turmoil……! May God give all of us peace and more lasting peace, where ever we are”…….!!

The Question “Thanks for blessing us all with photos of one of the oldest Shiva temples of India. And it is so wonderful to know our beloved Babaji’s purpose to send you there! How kind, caring and loving he is! And how sacred that temple is! Can u please tell in detail, how the divine vibes of such place works for our forefathers in cleansing their sins and getting peace?”

The explanation  Our mind, manas  perceives God.

On the other hand, when this mind gets attracted and induced in the illusion, Maya of God, the soul remains enmeshed in that attraction for many, many lives. It is for this reason that the mind cannot perceive God. With holy company, concentration, meditation and one- pointedness, the mind has to be brought back in focus and made concentrated. The objective of the sadhana or spiritual efforts is this very reason. And to attain success in this endeavour is involved many lives, only after which the mind becomes perfectly ready for God realization. God is perceived and seen in the temple of the  mind.

However, prior to this stage, the mind drifts pointlessly to the extent of being senseless and performs serious misgivings and wrongdoings. The net result is that the forthcoming lives are hard, harsh, filled with all types of sorrows and problems. Happiness eludes and peace dodges the man all the time. Real happiness is never easy to attain.

To attain Moksha or liberation means that we should perform noble, glorious and sacred deeds consciously now and the leftover negative deeds should be nullified with grace, patience and being sombre. This amounts to suggest that we shall allow the leftover deeds or sanchit karmas to manifest and appear with consent, endurance and grace. We are good at facing the positive responses of the positive past deeds but tackling unsavoury and disagreeable ones is not everyone’s cup of tea! And it is during such times, most of the people are prone to recreate some more erroneous, sweet and sour actions, whatever type they may be. But we must not do this. We should anyhow clear our past baggage and debt with practical wisdom, grace and patience.

In some specific life when we have acute realizations, we wish to start all over again and we begin afresh. For this we require spiritual guidance which only a realized Master can provide since he is the one who can look into your past and present lives both. The Master  will impart divine instructions as per your devotion and dedication from time to time, which you must follow sincerely. When you do this, the old script is erased and gradually a new script is inscribed and emblazoned. This demands your extreme patience and testing endurance. At its completion as a final point, we get repose and peacefulness. We also obtain great moments of divine ecstasy and resounding peace. God rewards us and blesses us with his own wonderful secrets’ insights! That is why it is important to know our soul.

Conclusion If we do not turn our lives and steer it in a new direction, the soul wanders and strays in various places by reincarnating in those places and connects with sometimes good and sometimes bad souls.   In this process, the soul wanders off and lives indiscriminately for thousands and multiple of thousand years. To stop this senseless meandering and long-winded journey, it is quintessential to know our soul.

Now let’s return to the question why I was sent to Thanjuvar by Shri Babaji as asked by one reader of lately.

Part-I  The reply is that when you clear all your old and long-drawn-out debts called the sanchit karmas with patience and endurance, in the end what remains inside you is only love, compassion and mercy. Your prayers express and ask for only salvation and peace for everybody. God listens to your invocations and you do those deeds by which the people around you are relieved of their miseries, agonies and woes. Sometimes, there are chronic family and personal problems which refuse to extinguish and the problems overwhelm you. Not only this, the chronic problems stand as hindrances and the cause is unknown. In such a peculiar situation, what happens is that this shadow which is cast over your life has its source in the other world where our forefathers are residing temporarily. If they had exploited others or inflicted people or  subjugated the weaker sections or any such serious negatives when they were alive, they are at this time suffering mentally in the next world as a punishment from God. They are in a prison. Their collective karmas affect you even now, more so if the living generations are not living a life of Dharma or righteousness. Just a few have an inclination out of so many to lead a moral and righteous life; most of the people in all families live an average or very mundane life. We are influenced by the collective karmas of the present family and the generations of the past even now, to a large extent although we may be unaware.

If the negative strength coming from that source  is quite awesome, the Guru intervenes mercifully in some rare cases. To protect his disciple from the negative effects of the previous negative deeds of their generations gone by, the dark shadow is removed masterfully.  The Master wants his subdued disciples to earn more good karmas as a prize and reward for their unselfishness and boundless love for their own Guru in order to make their future more happy and prosperous. The Guru also has compassion for the dead, crying souls and makes sure their agonies are relieved and therefore the disciple is asked to perform highly meritorious deeds in some specific places. With those good intentions, if the pilgrimage is made, the results are far more than one can imagine. Not only is the disciple blessed by the previous generations and the hindrances removed, the dead souls in this whole process are absolved of many sins because the noble deeds of the disciple bring them a sense of freedom, restfulness and redemption. The disciple thereafter has more smoothness, calmness and abundance in every sphere of life. And all this is only possible when the Teacher and the student both are totally one with the will of God!

Part II of the question

Can u please tell in detail, how the divine vibes of such place works for our forefathers in cleansing their sins and getting peace?

There are many holy places on this Earth, more so in India for being so ancient in age that were built with the will of God. They all have a purpose of which we are not aware. People go to temples if they have a problem or  if they wish for a child or want a lot of  wealth and even power. But God has a different theory in establishing holy places. Many holy places in India were built with specific role to play in our lives. Mostly Shiva temples were made to dissolve the evil karmas or sins of mankind as Shiva is the destroyer. The Shiva Linga is the pyramid in which divine energies keep entering from time to time from the sacred source of God.

When we go in the inner sanctums, the work of purification begins at the holy site. The  bad energy from our bodies and minds are burnt, dissolves and rises up to the shikhar or the dome of the holy structure. From there the burnt energies are disseminated in the atmosphere and erazed. We also absorb some good energies which turn into good thoughts and later into good karmas at some stage in the exchange. Hence we have the potential of doing good things some time in future.

The silent work of God is always on in this manner in the subtle world so as to free us from the negative influences generated by us at some point of time. If this is not done, the Earth will be overloaded with so much negativity that we will not be able to live here. Our materialistic wishes that we believe are fulfilled in the temples occur and materialize only if some pending good karmas in us are due to materialize! But as God is very charitable and generous, He still obligates our desires so that we have faith in God and one day will turn to God and say that I have had enough of your small gifts and toys, now I want You! After this the aim of going to temples and other holy places is for a higher, sometime very high purposes. They are meant for only spiritual obligations and holy intentions.

The divine vibrations emanating at this Shiva temple burnt the looming depression, mental torture and affliction in the astral world where the souls of those dead people are at present residing. They in turn got rid of their sad mental state because the Master and the disciple with the consent of God, carried out some specific deeds that would fulfil those aims- that of mass healing of the collective karmas of those people belonging to our previous generations. Such is the power of the worshipped places which were made by the wish and consent of God!

My dear ones, hope you have now understood the reason for  which the recent pilgrimage was made. I am sure you will be delighted to understand the  theory of the  unknown science behind the rituals of our religion performed at holy places. Behind every religious ritual is a sacred science about which the ancient man had knowledge and today we follow blindly for the sake of material goals!!

The state of Super Consciousness-II. This article is partly on pitra dosha or the ill effects on our current lives caused by the forefathers. It is important to remove the unknown negative effects and thus hastening our spiritual progress in a seeker’s life.

So what should we do? Remember God. Recall God. By remembering God the mind becomes pure.

How? The mind is a spark of God or Parmatma  in us. It is covered  with unseen  darkness and ambiguity which comes from the absence of knowledge of God’s presence in us. In fact, every living being in this Universe has a spark of God embedded in it. We do not know this yet.

When we remember God with pure devotion with or without any spiritual technique, the spark in us gets connected with the limitless white Light of the Omnipresence Power and we begin to see things in the right Light as it should be. By doing so, we are at peace and in calmess. Karmas or deeds originating from such a state of Consciousness lead us to do noble acts which are in favour of all. As the soul is devoid of any negative qualities and full of compassion and selfless love, the fruits of such acts are abundantly rewarded as per the laws of the Universal Spirit. The soul experiences freedom, unalloyed joy and no slavery of any type. Good actions bring with them true happiness, ananda and unexplored and limitless love from God to us!! This is liberation or Moksha in real sense!

Evidence

Our soul is omnipresent. It is connected with other souls in the Universe by our mind, which is a streak of God.

When I was heading towards Kanya Kumari from Madurai on 28.12.12 afternoon, on a highway I caught a fleeting sight which grabbed my attention. For the first time I saw a Banyan Tree without any obstructions covering it in a vast agriculture field. I have been in search for a clear photo of a Banyan tree for a very long time for  future reference for the purpose of using it in a book when the blog will be published.

Nobody knew about  this undisclosed thought. So when we were returning to Madurai on 29.12.12 morning, I requested the driver to stop at the same place where I had spotted this catchy tree. The driver slowed down the car in anticipation for it to be visible quite early to avoid missing it. As we slowed down, I heard my soul’s voice in between the search activity. It told me that Shri Mahavatar Babaji knew it for a long time that  I have been persistently searching and finding a Banyan tree which would be totally free from any other structure or other trees overcasting it.   I wanted to take its pictures. Shri Babaji informed the soul of this tree well in advance that I would be coming to Kanya Kumari one day and that  I should be given its pictures for my future needs.

The Banyan Tree told me  that similarly he too was waiting for me to arrive at that spot  and it was his privilege to serve Shri Mahavatar Babaji. His was a soul of a rishi or sage who wanted to serve God and mankind by becoming a Banyan Tree which is blessed with longevity. The more the duration of its life span, the longer it would be able to serve God. I believed in him because Shri Mahavatar Babaji is very capable of working on the Super Consciousness level through his mind power and this time I was not at all surprised. Rather, I quickly got down from the car, walked in the field half way and took some good shots of my favourite Banyan Tree for my blog and blog-book in spite of limited time available.

I end this post at this blessed and sacred moment by dedicating it to this phenomenal Banyan Tree whose soul is so kind and gracious and has been serving Mother Earth and God anonymously for more than 200 years. My humble prostrations to Shri Mahavatar Babaji and the Banyan Tree for its co-operation and also imparting us such useful insights of  unseen and unknown deeper realms of our Universe.

Expand your Consciousness-II

February 10, 2011

As we trudge along our long journey, the posts are getting more and more advanced and engrossing. This post will touch upon three time periods- ancient, contemporary and the new age. We will talk about souls who are very ancient and primitive and are showing us Light through their knowledge and wisdom which they acquired millenniums of years ago. They are still around but in far-flung skies, on the uppermost planes and skies and preparing the modern age or Kaliyug to tilt towards Satya Yug by changing the quality of thoughts of masses from narrow to higher, from disillusion to Light, from selfish interests to selfless and philanthropic acts and in this way purifying the planet in a very slow but definite manner. Such highly evolved souls are very much concerned about rapid erosion of our green forests and extinction of animals, putrefaction of water and pollution of our environment. They want the planet green, cool and pure. This post is not aimed at ‘Green Drive’ but religion and spirituality both teach us that everything created by God is sacred and pious and therefore we must respect Nature. It is the impure thoughts and deeds of greedy and selfish people in political and social circles that are degrading our mother Earth at an alarming pace. If we realize that every thought thrown in the environment has an impact on us and our planet simultaneously, we shall be able to contribute in making the planet more peaceful, beautiful, clean and worth living.

I was startled when I heard about these inspiring views from none other than Maharishi Agastya and an ancient Banyan Tree in the Himalayas in the morning meditation on 22nd Jan’ 11. So far I have seen Mahavatar Babaji on a crusade to save our planet from its quick deterioration. But recently Maharishi Agastya also endorsed these valuable and sane views so that we can live in a greener, cooler and purer world. But more of that later.

It has been decided by me that from now onward, the following posts will be more like my personal diary, a journal in which I will have my selected spiritual experiences recorded. The diary is going to be my Guide; whenever I wish to recall and review my insights which I gained during my meditations, they will be available. And once in a while I will address you so that you know that we are at an important juncture during the narration. I recommend that you  please review the last post  where I had mentioned about an ancient Banyan Tree living since the past eight thousand plus years in the Himalayas. Get a larger picture by reading and connecting the previous posts with each other. The first timers please refer posts on Ichcha Shakti, sankalp shakti…in  The state of Super Consciousness-I.

Part A

On one fine morning, before I was about to wake up, I had a vivid dream which I remember and recall accurately even today. Some dreams are hazy while some just wipe out even before we re-wind them to interpret their meaning. It so happened that a few years ago, we had to undertake some hard decisions to solve some of our problems when we were sailing in difficult waters. In that year 2003, on 16th Feb, I had a dream early morning which makes a lot of sense to me today. During those days, I was completely focused in learning some meditation techniques and was attempting the techniques devised by YSS guru, Paramhansa Yogananda. I was a learner then and found everything quite difficult because I had to orient and rotate my whole day accordingly in order to perform my spiritual aspirations.

I was gratified one morning when in a dream I saw that there was a State Transport bus in which there was a seat for three persons. On the window side was sitting Guruji, Paramhansa Yogananda, in the middle was Swami Shri Yukteshwarji and on the aisle seat I was seated. The bus was moving at a reasonable speed and we were driving on a breezy road which was spacious and had Palm trees on the divider. The road was quite long and we were about to reach a certain point. The scene changed at this juncture and the next part of the dream was that I was driving alone on a two wheeler on the same road and as I got little further ahead, I decide to a take a U- turn instead of going straight. As I take a complete about turn, I see an open ground where Swami Shri Yukteshwarji is teaching a game, something like a volley ball game to a large group of boys. I make up my mind and stop my vehicle and go to Swamiji. I bow to him, say something after which he enrolls me in his class  and I join the boys and begin to play with them.

I presumed at that time, that since I have come to YSS I am having a glimpse of the Swamis but I could never understand at that point the related significance and subsequently the consequences of the vision affecting my life in future.

Had I not taken those hard decisions during my time of severe trials, my life would have been a different story.  I would never have been blogging and telling you about prominent experiences of my spiritual journey undertaken so far. Had I not gone to YSS and learnt to meditate, I would not have been able to masterfully solve my complex problems and could  have never sorted out my life. The U turn in the dream has significance. We all have to take some hard decisions, more so in difficult times, if we have to change our life from what it is to what we want it to be. But just learning the technique is not enough, I discovered soon during my learning process. There are some more conditions applied in creating a new life divine. I put my hundred percent and was faithful to my daily practices and left the result of my sincerity and regularity as an offering to God.

I went to Vrindavan and Mathura, the birth place of Lord Krishna in May 2003 with my daughter after her graduation.  I had little time but had planned to see as much as possible in the available time. On the first day before we started our rounds to the main temple and spots linked to Krishna’s life, I sat down to meditate in the hotel room for just ten minutes. I used to find it difficult to follow my daily schedule in those days and was wondering if I was doing meditation correctly.  As I was talking to myself during meditation, I saw Paramhansa Yogananda’s very pleasant face as though he was really standing there and has heard me. He smiled at me thus making me comfortable and instructed  me what to do next. He retorted categorically and gave a specific instruction, “Increase the depth and duration of your meditation”. What he said to me years ago I have not forgotten. Rather, on the contrary his one line has made me ponder repeatedly and I am still trying to increase the depth and duration of my meditations as each day passes. Although I tried to obey those lines, there were many road blocks and other physical inabilities which I tried to overcome. In fact, I used to get so serious about making that line a reality that on many occasions I was also told by the Masters that I should not be tensed or worried about it as it takes quite some time to master the mind and make it behave properly! The mind’s wandering and agitation of the senses takes quite some time to diminish and be brought under control.

The problem is that in any case a lot of our time just flies away doing our normal survival activities.  Some of you may probably have the same dilemma because meditation is one such activity in which results are not in our hands and also one can’t evaluate oneself. It is only the guru who can assess and judge us. So do not give up hope and stay in your spiritual practices with dedication and patience. One day, the positive results shall blossom in incredible ways!!

In previous post, dated 30th Jan, 2011, https://spiritinlife.blog/2011/01/30/expand-your-consciousness/ there is one line in the very beginning in Part B section where I had mentioned that my meditation was dynamic on that day. I called it dynamic because something so very unusual happened during its course. As God was explaining to me the 1st verse of Bhagwad Geeta chapter 15, I was completely immersed in it and was drinking every drop of the celestial nectar of timeless wisdom. As the long meditation just got over on that unusual day, I wanted to take some rest to assimilate the wisdom; I was still reeling under its colossal impact. Hence, I rested on my bed on my right side with my right arm stretching out of the bed and my face facing the door. To have rest, I was relaxing my body when I heard him say inwardly, “Can you not see that I have come to you?” I did not still believe myself and presumed that because I have been so engaged with Babaji and the making of the post, that it must just be figment of my imagination.

But I am too tired now because I have barely finished my last postand intense meditations.”

Ignoring my words, once again he quipped, “Do you remember the instance of Yukteshwar on the Ganga’s  Rai ghat when I went to visit him in Srirampur after he completed his book Holy Science?”  (Consult AOY chapter 36)

I could easily recollect the episode but I still could not fathom why all this was being reminded to me. I saw no connection at all. Finally he lay all my doubts at rest when he said, “You need more practice of concentration, fix your eyes on the central point between the eyebrows and remain like that as long as you can.

Next to the banyan tree at Rai ghat, Srirampur near Kolkatta where Mahavatar Babaji met Swami Sri Yukteshwaji

You cannot see me in my astral body because I am at a very high wave length of energy. To be able to commune with me for a longer duration, you should practice meditation in depth and duration.” I got my answer. He went on,

“The Banyan Tree in Lumbini will teach you more how to have strong will power and to be absolutely selfless in nature. If you have a very dynamic will power, you shall be able to expand your consciousness with each passing day. So practice meditation with a dynamic will and desire.”

At this time, I again saw a spectrum of colours- orange and yellow. Later, I came to know that on top of orange was a white band which I was unable to see. The significance of the spectrum was clarified by Maharishi Agastya after just a few days.mYou will find the interpretation of this spectrum of colours in the following text.

Part B

On 2nd Feb 2011, after a while as I sat to meditate in the morning, I saw Rudra Prayag in the Himalayan Mountains and a small cave. It was here where we had halted twice on our forward and backward journey to Shri Badrinath on Char Dham Yatra in 2009 with a large group of pilgrims. The hotel where we were put up was very close to Agastya Muni temple and I was quite  interested to go there but it didn’t come to pass as the schedule was too tight. Nevertheless, I was very fascinated to discover that Agastya Muni perhaps came up till here probably to do penance. The same image emerged in meditation on that day of the the Agastya  temple from outside. And I had a glimpse of Agastya Muni. Though I could understand that Maharishi Agastya’s soul is close by but it was a puzzling state because normally I begin my meditation with a short prayer or words and thoughts of gratitude and I had not yet done that but  the revelations began so hastily. To tell you the truth, I was least prepared for his auspicious arrival.

I was incredibly baffled at his unexpected arrival. As if this was not enough, he came and sat next to me on the floor. When I felt the warmth and very faint sensation of his auric energy, I began to thank my good luck and good karmas for an occurrence like this.

Draupadi had full faith in Lord Krishna and he salvaged her honour and rescued her out of love. Bhagwan Rama came up till here and then crossed over the ocean to Lanka. I helped him in his penance and in winning the battle with the asura Ravana. Ramayan is not a myth but it is all true. Faithless people doubt in God’s presence. After you go from here, continue your sadhana without a break with full devotion and faith in God, you will succeed.”

This is one incident and…

About less than a year ago in Mumbai, I went to my sister’s house to pick her up as we had to go somewhere. She was in her room and asked me to wait in the sitting room as she was not ready yet. As I sat on the sofa with no one else in the house, I had nothing particular in my mind. I was only waiting to leave that place and complete my work. While I sat there, my mind was calm and there was no stirring what so ever.  On the sofa in front of me I had a quaint sight. I saw a dark complexioned, very small built Brahmin with knotted hair sitting in front of me quietly. He did not move or say anything to me. I immediately recognized him as Agastya Muni and  his demeanor was calm and quiet. I looked at him with awe and before anything happened, he vanished in thin air. I was quite surprised at this unusual sight and purposely kept quiet about it and in my heart I decided at that moment that I will revisit my unusual day and my astral meeting with a great sage of primitive India only once I reach my house!

Just then my sister came out of her room and sat on the side sofa and asked me,

“You know X is conducting hypnosis and past life regression in large groups these days. Yesterday he came to my house and he has told me that the energies of my house have changed from good to inferior and I should do something about it. And that Agastya Muni was my guru in one of my previous lives. Now who is this Agastya Muni? Have you heard about him?” All I said to her was that “He is a prominent rishi of the South and when I go to South India I see his photo many times. He is the same rishi who has predicted our future on palm leaves thousands of years back through nadi shastra, and you have visited one such astrologer many times.”

She was actually quite clueless and confused and we left it at that!

Very fluently and losing no time, he began to converse with me telepathically,

“I am Maharishi Agastya.

They are of the people who are either thinking of you or talking about you somewhere; discard them, they are absolutely unimportant.

Depth in meditation raises the level of Consciousness and duration widens the Consciousness.

Stone idol of Maharishi Agastya in the temple of Babaji at Peraingaipettai

The guru comes in our life to open the door of the cage so that we can escape the cringe and constriction of the imprisoned soul. The limit and boundary till we fly in the sky is decided by us. We can fly to either low, medium or the highest skies. All that depends on your Ichcha Shakti, your will to aspire and attain. Your vision with Babaji narrated in the preceding section denotes this.

This is the huge religious Banyan Tree in Lumbini * with whom I connected on the same day after Maharishi Agastya illumined me.

After I realized God I meditated and thought why did I not ask anything for others with the clout of my tapas? I wish I had asked something for others instead of myself !

As God is very quick in listening to sincere and unselfish prayers, I was  heard  instantly and God said to me with his caressing words, “Hey Munivar, I accept your heartfelt and sincere prayer. After about 7,000 years a very pious soul is going to incarnate on the Earth for the salvation of people. An extremely sacred place is required for deep realizations for this exclusive and extremely pious soul. Think and tell me about one such appropriate place which will be befitting for that soul. Where ever there is penance done should be appropriate.”*

I told God, “Kindly give me such a later life so that I can serve that pure and pious soul.”

With my will so very strong and the desire so uncompromising to do intense penance because of which I chose to be born as a Banyan Tree since it is only the Banyan Tree whose longevity is thousands of years!

I lived a long life of 100 years as a rishi and when the environment was conducive, my spirit entered a banyan tree in Lumbini. I waited for a very long time for Bhagwan Buddha to arrive. I made my long wait and hiatus my tapasya and sadhana. When Bhagwan Buddha was born, there was bright light on the land and I understood that my tapasya will soon yield result. One day I saw Gautam Buddha, he had a divine insight. While walking here, he himself came and sat under the banyan tree. When God’s dazzling Light fell on him, some of it fell on me too by which I got the consideration and returns of my intense tapas.

Gautam Buddha lived a long life of 93 years. He suffered a lot in mind and body so that even if not many, but just a few could be awakened in Spirit. There are only a handful people who truly love God. Typically, people come to God only to mitigate their sorrows and meet their needs and then they return to their lives and homes.

Mahavatar Babaji is also working selflessly and serving the humans so that their progress in Spirit is possible.

The evolution of human race is at an extremely slow pace.

This extraordinary spiritual experience made me very calm and totally satisfied and I was immersed in the enlightening words for the next few days that followed. My heart was inundated with gratitude for God because He has been so kind and merciful in revealing the hidden mysteries and laws of Spirit to us.

Stone idol of Mahavatar Babaji in the temple of his birth place depicting Babaji doing penance under a banyan tree in Katargama, Sri Lanka as a young lad.

**”Light comes to us in the form of wisdom and knowledge.

My existence since my first birth and origin is some lakh years old. Hence my wisdom and spiritual knowledge is Prabhutva gyan which means extremely intense or blazing knowledge. Prabhutva gyan is rarest of rare and is attained with lakhs of years of tapas and is extremely exclusive.”

After this explanation, I was able to finally understand the meaning of the spectrum which I saw. It had yellow colour for Teevra gyan, orange colour  for Prachand gyan and white colour which was invisible to my eyes for Prabhutva gyan. As I could not see the white band Mahavatar Babaji therefore advised me to practice concentration and meditation even more now for increasing its depth and duration.

Snapshots

  •  The trials of life should be treated as tapasya, penance.
  • Do tapasya and offer the results to God.
  • Increase the depth and duration of your meditation
  • Depth in meditation raises the level of Consciousness and duration widens the Consciousness.

Conclusion Knowledge coming from such ancient and timeless Seers and souls is proven and tested. Their ties with God is unbreakable because they have practiced the communion over thousands of years and hence their knowledge is flawless, reliable and worth trying and emulating. The other supposed mentors, saviors and saints are newly born ‘modern souls’ whose vasanas to earthly ties and enjoying the earthly pleasures are satisfied in the garb of spirituality. If you are a true seeker, then differentiate between real and imitation and focus only on your salvation, freedom and emancipation with the support and help from an immortal, timeless and eternal Spirit that resides in Shri Mahavatar Babaji. He knows the innermost feeling of every devotee and fulfills them on time. Since the time I came in contact with Babaji, I have been mesmerized by his personage and wondered time and time again as to how could a human being bring about such massive transformations in himself while living on earth? The very thought was mind boggling that someone has been living for almost two millennium just to serve others? Why would anyone do this I was baffled, and I used to think that if I could connect my mind with his Super Mind by Yoga, then all the riddles of metaphysical matters would be solved. I have considered this many a times in solitude and today with God’s immense grace and love for his children, some mysteries have been solved which were embedded in  my subconscious mind since several years.

With so much Light given to us, I now realize that  that there is no force anywhere in this universe that can dampen our spirits or stop our progression and ascent in unfolding our limitless hidden powers and realizations. The helping hand is always available, it is we who have to comprise the blazing desire to metamorphose and expand our mortal consciousness to Consciousness Supreme.

My dear friends, let’s pledge today that may we all contribute in our own ways  to help the great seers and enlightened Spirits in their  world wide mission of making our Universe more peaceful, holy and prosperous.

It was much later when I was writing my autobiography in the month of May of 2018 that I knew the real meaning of the dream that I had with Swami Yukteshwarji. I learnt from Maharishi Markandey that it was Swami Sri Yukteshwar who put me under rigorous training and discipline the way he did to his foremost disciple Paramhansa Yogananda, but astrally.

On such spots sparkling with pious energies, God someday inspires someone to make a temple of great importance.” Kashyap Maharishi

Expand your Consciousness-I

January 30, 2011

Part A

Dear readers, this post on expanding our consciousness is an extension of the last series of three posts on Super Consciousness. Apart from raising our levels, we must also try to expand our consciousness to wider horizons. If you recall, so far we have discussed the progression of a soul from throat chakra, vishuddha chakra to the crown chakra, the center of Super Consciousness, our Atma. Now we are going to discuss broadly the remaining chakras, our energy centres thus completing the whole cycle.

On the night of 22nd Jan, I was endowed with a life altering experience during meditation. The meditation was dynamic, elucidating and it increased my  awareness and widened my consciousness to a great extent.  Prior to this unexpected experience, I was desperate and was trying to sleep on time so that I could be energized in the morning and make a sketch of my next post. So I quickly sat down to meditate in my room thus bringing an end to my normal day.  As I was even preparing, I saw that I was overflowing with abundant love and peace and was unable to contain myself. As I was soaked in peace and complete relaxation of mind and body, I could hardly keep my eyes open by then.  I saw myself covered by a blanket of godly love on a pleasant and chilly night. Impatient to connect to my inner source, I immediately began my meditation by saying a prayer. The power of love and peace in me was so excruciating that no time was lost and I began to connect and then…

Sublime thoughts and feelings were coming in my mind and I saw myself praying for the salvation and upliftment of those souls who have faith in God and have a desire to evolve themselves. I prayed to God that His children who are making an effort sincerely should be blessed with triumph and success. I requested God to give them his love and peace and that they too realize Him and become free from all shackles of bondage. May his children also do tapasya, penance and search out and see God in the form they desire as God appears in any form depending on the kind of devotion and faith placed in him. I became somber at this point when a spontaneous request flowed from my heart in that hour of devotion, “God, please give them what you have given me; dear God please bless them with your divine presence in their hearts.”

With peace falling gently all over me and touching every pore of my being, I retired in bed longing for a quick transition from the state of wakefulness to restful peace in the form of sleep. I was certain that sleep will not evade me tonight and I shall wake up at the crack of the day when the first bird greets me near my window. As soon as I closed my eyes to sleep, almost instantly my body became very loose and I disconnected with the chord that attaches the soul with the physical body and I reached a different plane instead. I happened to see a galore of white light in full beam  before my closed eyes. It was milky white in colour and it felt so light then, so very pure in its divine presence. I was enclosed and fully covered by this white light and was absolutely dazzled by its brightness and luminosity. Prior to this time, I had not seen such a bright dazzling light during meditation or otherwise too. I was seeing only this white light present around me and nothing else for a few fleeting moments. And then the sight of light quickly vanished when light transformed into divine visions.

The vision that I had was this…

Before my inner eye, I saw myself walking upward on a path with Param Pujya, His Holiness Mahavatar Babaji. We were marching ahead  with very quick steps. I was not holding his hand as we stood there. It felt as though now I was  like a child who in enthusiasm and sheer joy wishes to walk all by himself. I saw Babaji keeping an eye over me standing in a corner while I took strides and was almost running up with great anticipation. Later, Babaji began to walk but ahead of me and I was trying to walk up fast to keep pace with him. On our way, there was a cluster of white clouds, but we walked past them. We did not stop and were walking upwards until we reached the regions of ether and space in the celestial skies.  I observed that there were no gross particles around us, therefore the movements were rapid. Everything was so light, very, very  light. We both were as though flying in the upper space till we reached the skies and  my thoughts were crystal clear during this time. We reached the uppermost levels of the sky very quickly. And all that I am describing here was awesome and truly incredible!

The place that we reached now was filled with bright golden light. The tremendous rays were looking exactly like the rays of the Sun but were golden in colour, they were brilliant. They were present in every space possible and were immensely dazzling. A few of these golden rays started falling over my face and then entered my eyes,  in the corners, below the eyelids, around the eye ball and behind the eyeballs…. I saw them reaching in the right eye and I felt the warm sensation and tingling. They were tender and very soothing. Somehow the brightness of the Light was so glaring that I contracted and squished my eyes since I had never seen so much light before, and that too of this intensity and luminosity. I turned to Babaji who was standing on my left side and told him, “Even if I burn off or die here, I will not go down again. I will never ever again go on the earth and I will stay here forever.” As I was speaking these words, I was simultaneously exerting  all my force into my legs so that I could stand there firmly and not budge under the Light of many Suns!!

Babaji gave me an enigmatic smile.  I repeated myself by reiterating that I will not go down now from this level. Even while I was saying this, like a spike plunging downwards, I went down but instantly bounced back with full force and stood firmly on my legs once again. I looked upto Babaji for his reaction and waited anxiously. We both stood there for a few fleeting moments in the same state when all of a sudden he notified me, “Na, na, we cannot stay here any longer. You are not permitted. You have only this much punyas, good karmas and you cannot stay here any longer.” So we quickly rushed down and as we came just a level below this celestial sky,  we came to the sky of the deities, the sixth sky. The light at this level was was not very intense and it was very pale blue in colour, almost white in colour. I saw a few rays of light scattering around in that place and it is here that I saw a huge black Shivlinga which aroused feelings of devotion in me. At this juncture, Babaji questioned me, “Do you remember this?” I answered in the negative. “You have seen it, try to recall,” he prompted. I tried my best but could not recall when I saw the black Shivlinga. As my memory did not respond, therefore Babaji stimulated my memory as he opened an utterly unknown page of my past. Now this was quite startling as well intriguing as things began to unfold one by one.

With great composure and serenity in his eyes, he began telling me, “When you were one and a half years old, one day when you were in your mother’s lap, you had the same vision of a black Shivlinga to which you made a heart filled prayer and pleaded, “God, may I never again sleep in the lap of ignorance”.

IMG_8941

With Babaji’s limitless grace and boundless mercy, I could recall this incident quite vividly during the latter part of my meditation. I recollected that it was afternoon time and we were then living in a joint family and I was lying in my mother’s lap and she was putting me to sleep. Along with putting me to sleep, she was also talking to some  members of the family after completing her morning chores. I could also recollect how noisy it was then and what I was hearing was complete cacophony to my ears.  Instead of that, I wished to hear something nice and words that could raise my consciousness. I felt much suffocated living in an environment that was so grim and dark. All along I was refraining and I resisted the waves of ignorance being bombarded at me in early childhood.  I could that day see all this clearly when I regressed into my childhood.

If a soul defends strongly even when it is very young in age and resists accepting the ignorance of people around him or her, then he overcomes it  by rejecting it mentally. Some souls who are in a dream state, they initially resist and after a few attempts give up because the ignorance of all the people around them is overwhelming and too powerful to combat. From here on,  such souls  begin to accept and absorb the darkness  which is so prevalent in this world. The layers of darkness keep piling one after the other in our mind in this way if we do not reject it out rightly.

Now for the sadhak,  to remove the ignorance of many incarnations, first of all the earthly desires embedded in the muladhar chakra, the base chakra and swadhisthan chakra should be purified of past karmas. This area is  the seat of earthly ties and survival instincts. The passage between the lowermost chakra the muladhar chakra uptil navel is the place of earthly attachments. Majority of people live below the navel, in lower consciousness. By nature, the human being does not assess himself, instead he judges others harshly. But when he begins self assessment, he begins to rise and reaches the point of navel from the centres lying at the base. As mentioned in earlier posts, Manipur or solar plexus is the seat of aspiration, the seat of fire as well as power. If we move up gradually in our consciousness and reach this center, we begin to aspire and  raise ourselves from  lower consciousness to higher awareness.

The navel is the cross point in the body. Once the Kundalini Shakti is awakened, glimpses of lost memory of divinity is  awakened and a new journey starts from this point. Please refer articles on Kundalini Shakti, where explaination about smriti and vismriti  is given.

Heart Chakra or Anahat Chakra is the seat of love, forgiveness, compassion and mercy.  As the seeker progresses and moves up, his heart chakra opens. First of all, he learns forgiveness. Refined feelings of love, gratitude, mercy, compassion develop thereafter. After forgiving all the people of this as well as other lives, pure love originates in the heart. Forgiveness comes only after we realize our own mistakes and the harm caused to others voluntarily or involuntarily. Empathy generates forgiveness. The sadhak now lives and operates from this level of Consciousness if he keeps progressing by adopting various spiritual practices. Sadly, people mostly live on very basic level of existence and do not make efforts or strive hard to raise their consciousness from very gross to spiritual.

Part B

On the next day after the last post was published, I was taking some time off to rest and was going  through the post  mentally once more in order to absorb  it. The last series of three posts on Super Consciousness have been a phenomenal effort because so much of energy and time has gone in its conception, conceptualization and arranging them in a definite order. It is  sometimes difficult for me to say certain things or explain to others my spiritual experiences because words often fail me. Many a times, the inner experience is so wonderful that one would not like to dilute it by translating them in words.

Well, at that time I was also wondering do I have to tell so much about my experiences to others? Is it not enough? Why should I not write a post that is about other saints and great illumined souls instead? Why me? As I was brooding over this, I again fell in a trance that afternoon and got disconnected with the physical body. In the transcendental stage, I saw a thick forest and a big river was flowing in a zigzag manner with a gush and a roar.

I replied, “No, I don’t know Ma.” She answered, “That’s because my water does not flow freely from there on, it becomes stagnant.”

Inside the room was a big white idol of Lord Vishnu holding the conch shell, shankh and a mace in one hand and in another sudarshan chakra wearing a garland of white lilies and a few red roses.

I tried to connect these two visions occurring one after the other quickly but could not gather anything. A kind of snapshot ran through my mind and I instantly got a glimpse of the next post.

It takes a lot for them to accept that humility is superior to monk hood and that accepting other people and their views is a virtue. He himself had been arrogant and harsh when he was living in the normal world and with great difficulty has accepted his mistakes. Mahavatar Babaji’s supple guidance and unconditional love has changed him forever and he has realized the importance of unconditional love for all beings. “Those who are practicing Yoga, Pranayam or Kriya must try to look deeper inside themselves and seek Guru’s guidance in scraping off hidden subtle ego lurking inside them,” said he. I must admit that I am lucky  for this timely advice from an  ascetic sitting miles away whose advice I shall always remember and follow.

Today is 30.01.11,  5.00 pm.

Posting the last and the most important part of this article. Just got up from another dynamic meditation a while ago. I was waiting impatiently for the translation and explanation of Bhagwad Geeta’s verse 1 chapter 15 to come to me in meditation since a reader has asked me to explain it some days back. Well, just very few hours ago, I was praying unremittingly for the interpretation of this particular verse as indeed it is complicated and the meaning is difficult to understand. I requested God to explain the verse as different people interpret it differently and one gets to understand  just a part of the shloka and not the full thing.

As I was praying I had a vision of Lake Mansarovar and sacred Mountain Kailash and I saw its highest tip. Mt. Kailash heard my prayer, acknowledging that I was waiting for God’s response to write this post. It began to communicate with me and said that I am a blessed soul because God has heard my prayer. I should now raise my consciousness further up, from the tip of the Kailash Mountain and connect to the Highest skies and highest source- God. I also saw a Shree Yantra, a pyramid which I have and is a perfect representative and replica of Mount Kailash. One should meditate with this yantra if  possible. Today I meditated keeping this yantra with me as I was having  difficulty in concentrating. But eventually I was  able to connect and all of a sudden the answers to all my inquiry began to flow unrestrained! I only had to contain and absorb it.

The cells in the body have memory ingrained in them called smriti.

Urdhva mulam adhah shakhamashwatham prahuravyayam I

Chandasi yasya parnani yastam veda sa vedavit II

In the end, God asked me,” Do you know that there is a Banyan Tree which is more than eight thousand years old? Have you seen it?” I thought for a moment and looked around every where mentally and thought of a few places. Actually I did not know that a tree can live up to eight thousand years, leave alone know one! God enlightened me, “There is one such Banyan Tree, the Boddhi tree in Lumbini under which Gautam Buddha attained prachand prakash intense light. It is the only tree which is so ancient. It is now 8,056.5 years old. Mahavatar Babaji can be compared to this Bodhi tree- so eternal, so timeless and so ancient. Such trees are never uprooted even in the strongest of wind, earthquakes or storms and are always strongly grounded. You are a very blessed soul because you are writing all this about him. Pay your homage and tribute to an ageless, timeless, immortal soul who has been living for more than 1,8oo years to serve my children.”

My dear friends, with my ceaseless gratefulness and boundless gratitude and devotion, I wrap up this post with a poem and offer both of them at the lotus feet of our beloved Mahavatar Babaji.

Babaji’s Lotus feet at his birth place, Peraingaipettai, Tamil Nadu

May his fragrance of wisdom, love and knowledge reach every human soul living on this earth!!

Apne andar ki kitab kholo,

Khud ko jano, apne ko pahchano

Kisliye yahan aaye they, kya kar rahe ho?

Dukh kyon sahate ho jab swayam sukh ki khaan ho?

Andar ke taale tumhe jakadte hai,

Unhe guru se chabi lekar kholo,

Ganthe  swayam khulti jayaengi

Jab samarpan karte hai

Samarpan woh sachcha jisme

Bhavnaye sachchi ho

Man mei tarang sundar uthe to

Ishwar usey sweekar lete hai.

Mai bhi tumhara haath pakad loonga

Yadi tum chahoge

Pakadkar phir kabhi na chodunga

Jab tak dhyeya pura na saadh lo

Ek bar chu kar dekho

Andar kaun hai?

Kya kabhi mahsoos hota hai

Tumse pahele koi mojud hai?

Translation-

Water flows, life flows but man stagnates.

Open the book which is inside you

Know thyself, recognize your true self

Why did you come here, what are you doing?

Why do you suffer when you are a treasure of  happiness?

The shackles inside arrest you

Release these chains with the key from the Master

The knots shall open on their own

When we surrender our self

Surrender that has sincere feelings

Is real and true,  and feelings which are true

Are hurriedly accepted by God.

I shall hold your hand

If you so wish

Once I hold, I shall never leave you

Until the goal is met.

For once, glance inside , touch and see

Who is inside you?

Have you ever once felt that

There is already someone present even before  you?

The state of Super Consciousness-II

January 10, 2011

I have spent a few days in Delhi lately. There was a lot of greenery around and the house that I stayed in wore a deserted look once everyone living nearby went out to work.  There were no disturbing sounds in neighborhood as such and it was quiet during most of the day.  Moreover, there was a feeling of wellness and harmony in the atmosphere. On those days, my mind was very introverted and more often than not, I wished to either meditate or sit in solitude.

I completed the everyday work around a house on 18th Dec morning and sat down to meditate. Before long, I began to hear Buddhist chants in my inner ear. The pitch and tone of the chants were so nice and sacred to hear, very soothing and captivating to my heart.  I calmly listened to these chants and could visualize a monastery in the Himalayas in which some dedicated Buddhists monks with multiple beads in their necks were repeating the mantras feverishly before a lit lamp and fragrant incense sticks. As I listened attentively to the Buddhist mantras for a few minutes, the sound of Om began to reverberate in my ears and the chanting of mantras was leaving away. Soon after, the mantras stopped ringing and I heard the recurrence of the sacred sound of Om ringing continuously. The sound of Om made me very peaceful and it silenced my mind completely. The interminable thoughts became completely still in no time and I plunged in deep tranquility and peace. I sat in this state for quite some time when…

I called upon God to pray and I implored, “My sweet God, may I never lose sight of you, may I forever worship you, may I never lose your memory in me, and may I never stop praying to you. May my heart always bind with you and may I never get too entangled in this external world and please bless me God so that I forever think of you. May I always do natmastak, bow profoundly to you all the time, even while I am asleep.”

God quickly responded by murmuring these words of disclosure and good counsel, “Babaji is very humble like Gurla Mandhata. Do you recall the mountain Gurla Mandhata, standing majestically opposite sacred mountain Kailash on your pilgrimage?  It is always bowing at Kailash although it is bigger and taller than it. Mahavatar Babaji is like Gurla Mandhata- tall and majestic yet always so humble. Be like him. The spiritual horizon and the perceptions that you have experienced during the preceding days here is from agya chakra or third eye level. You have had experiences of Super Consciousness sometimes but you must stabilize in it. If you wish to go higher, then Babaji’s compassionate Grace will take you to the level of Gurla Mandhata or to the State of Super consciousness and perfect humility.”

Mt. Gurla Mandhata

I recalled my Kailash Mansarovar yatra when I saw Gurla Mandhata mountain. It is positioned right opposite Mt. Kailash and amusingly when I saw the mountain many times, I discovered that it had many moods and changing faces. We were informed by our group leader that the mythological story is that this mountain is a devotee of Mt. Kailash and that it is its desire to always prostrate humbly to holy Mt.Kailash, the holiest of all the mountains.

After knowing this, I prayed to Mahavatar Babaji- “Babaji, it is my most earnest and sincere pray to you in this sacred moment. Hey Prabho! Destroy all my sins and mistakes of all my past lives. May I never ever err, may I always only serve Ishwara, the Holy Lord! May I serve you all my life and in all coming lives too. May I spread your words and teachings. Remove my darkness, all my darkness for forever and forever!!

Shri Mahavatar Babaji’s merciful nature acknowledged and accepted my prayers in no time. A series of beautiful visions began to emerge before my eyes like an appeasing movie as I kept my eyes closed and sat comfortably for the time that flowed. What I saw was so benevolent, so magnificent that I feel I should share with all his devotees, followers and other readers too.

All the flowers from his arms were in mine by now and in utter amazement, I looked at the collection of heavenly lotuses piled up and was absolutely numb because events were occurring  at such rapid and unexpected ways.

From now onward, more and more people will read and receive these gifts of God from you.

I chanted and thanked God throughout the days that followed for this wonderful blessing and love.

                                 Om Namo Bhagwate Vasudevaya

                                 Om Namo Bhagwate Vasudevaya

                                 Om Namo Bhagwate Vasudevaya…

Since I have discovered Babaji, I have always wanted to know something about his personal life. It is because whatever little information that is available to public now through Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramhansa Yogananda or other books, the focus has always been on Babaji’s interaction with his devotees. Random communications, his counsel, advice to devotees are present in the books. Nothing is documented about his birth, birthplace or early child hood, personal life etc. Everything is mysterious about him because he leads a very secluded life and is extremely reclusive by nature. Ever since Babaji has come in my life, it has been my lingering desire to get to know him personally and to have an intimate bond and connection with him internally. I have longed to know what was his state of mind when he was born, what did he perceive as a child, what was his state and stage of enlightenment, how could he acquire the highest state in such a tender age and similar things. My compelling desire has made me visit Shri Badrinath temple many times and I have also visited a few places associated with Babaji’s life out of mere devotion and unshakeable faith in him. So many times, he has told me to visit some special place without my fully understanding its meaning and significance affecting my life-both personal and spiritual. It is only now that all the pilgrimages and visits to holy places undertaken in the past few years are bearing fruit and I can see a clear picture with his kind grace emerging out of all that.

Dear friends, today is 9th January and it is late evening. I have not yet compiled my article completely. I have been anxious in the last three to four days wondering about how the post should turn out to be, how should I wrap up since I only had the narration of my vision with me which you have just read. As the date of my submission of this post was nearing and I was completely blank, throughout the day I have prayed to God to tell me what should I write about Mahavatar Babaji.  It is not easy to discover or know much about him as he is very humble, shy and reclusive. I surrendered to God absolutely.  I meditated, prayed and pleaded. I sat on the sofa just below Babaji’s photo some time back and closed my eyes and remembered him with intensity and I expressed my desire, “Babaji, you are playing hide and seek with me. Until you relent, how can I tell the world who you were, where you were born, why did you incarnate and what was your mission in life at that time? My very dearest, my beloved Master, reveal thyself, reveal thyself, please reveal thyself… It is my very humble request to you please tell me something about your past and present lives so that my life’s mission is accomplished. If I am able to bring your devotees and your dear ones closer to you; if I can tell this world that there exists a great soul like you hidden from the public gaze and if I can help you in some minuscule measure in your worldwide mission of uplifting the humanity at large, then the purpose of my life is met. I wish for nothing, I want to know just about you.”

As I said these words, my body did not move or stir a bit. There were a few fleeting moments of absolute quietude. There was complete silence after I prayed to God and waited till Babaji responded to my earnest request. As I was sitting still, I saw an image of my own body in a meditative lotus posture in front of my shut eyes.  I saw a big white lotus flower with a yellow centre. The lotus flower was placed at the spot between my eyebrows and its white petals were in full bloom and spreading over my entire upper head. Its stem was placed on my spinal cord and coincided with it. Staring at the lotus flower I became all the more still and I immediately became peaceful like never before.

I gazed at this flower for a short while and basked in exclusive peaceful times. I don’t know how much time had lapsed but after that I perceived a medium-sized pink lotus placed on my heart chakra. The flower was open and I could feel my heart throbbing faintly as it remained there. By now I could see myself explicitly sitting in a perfect lotus posture with the white lotus on my head and the pink one on my heart. Two words flashed before me and I uttered, “Love and peace, I love divinity, I love God.”

A little later, the image and sound of Babaji’s divine words resonated when he made a prophesy, “In 2053, I will no longer remain in seclusion and shall come out in public in a world forum.” Lifting a book in his right arm he said, “This book will be a proof for the world to see what I tell you now.”

In an instant, the face of Shri Mahavatar Babaji emerged in me and he thus began to speak to me, “I was always born in India and in future also I shall take birth in India. It is a sacred and pious land. Since thousands of years, the sages and saints have done tapasya here whose positive rays are still imbued in the atmosphere. My last birth was one thousand, eight hundred and fifty-seven years ago.

I was born of a humble Brahmin priest in India in a fishermen’s village in today’s Tamilnadu’s coastal area. I was born in an enlightened state and I came for a specific purpose and mission. I brought along with me ** yoga, tapa, dharma, satya- unity with God, spiritual penance, righteousness and truth respectively.   You should also follow these virtues.

My father was a learned man and I heard the Vedic mantras being chanted when I was in my mother’s womb. I knew most of them by heart and wished to revive their lost meaning once I was born soon. The noise and clutter emanating out of the spiritual ignorance of people disturbed me and I had vowed in my mother’s womb that I shall try to eradicate that and awake people from deep slumber. I was aware of my time and place of birth and I had already chalked out my future plans to work for God. So I started very early and was already meditating in the womb! I was born with prayers on my lips and a mission as big as the earth in my mind. Therefore, I maintained silence all the time and hardly ever spoke!! Words are very confusing and create so much trouble. Speech is only good if used with humility and kindness. I hated wars because they create more problems than before and if peace is lost on earth, the proof of God as peace and love is lost. All human problems can be solved only through peace and love. Hatred culminates in ignorant hearts and should be shunned at all costs.

As it was not destined that I lead a life of a householder, I was kidnapped by a man from Kabul and sold for a pittance thus separating from my mother and father. The trader to whom I was sold in Kalkatta was a kindhearted man and he freed me. God directed me on a path that would forever change my life thenceforth. I saw a band of monks travelling and I discreetly joined them. As I was observing maun or silence even at the age of six, they did not think it fit to ask me any questions. I joined the band and reached Kashi, today’s Banaras. I visited Bodh Gaya and Lumbini during my very short stay there. As I was so attuned to the Vedic hyms and chants, I did not have to memorize them. Instead I saved a lot of time and used it for contemplation. Soon I began to give sermons and people came from far and wide to listen to me at a very young age of ten. One night, I decided to leave the place quietly as giving sermons to people was never my goal.

I took a boat from the shores of Kanya Kumari and reached Sri Lanka. The forests were very thick and the number of people much less then. I wanted to maintain uninterrupted silence for a few years so I hid myself in the thick forests of Katargama in Sri Lanka away from the noise and found an old Banyan Tree. I sat under it to meditate and did not move for days. Swami Kartikeyan blessed me. I sat near his place of samadhi and tapas.

Rishi Boganathar saw me in tapasya and gave me initiation in Sudarshan Kriya. The Sudarshan Kriya practiced now a days is a very simplified form of the original. Earlier Kriya was not practiced by the homemakers as its sanctity cannot be maintained by them. By practicing Kriya uninterruptedly, the need for food for the body became unnecessary. I mastered the art of living without food, sunshine, air and water for incessant days. The glory of divinity and victory over nature shone in the glow that was emanating out of me. The radiance and glow was many kilometers wide and could be seen by the rishis and munis in that area and those sitting in meditation in caves and hills. Maharishi Agastya was sent to me on the behest of God to give me more powers and siddhis as my workload in future would require me to use them as my tools in my endeavours to do the service of God.

Mahavatar Babaji meditating under a Banyan tree in Katargama. Behind him is Swami Kartikeyan.

I attained the highest state of acute enlightenment after mastering the highest kriya which I learnt from rishi Boganathar and Maharishi Agastya and since then I am engaged in carrying out the work of God. Though my body has become immortal, I shall shed it once my mission is accomplished.

With yogatapa, penance done with yoga, I have made my body incorruptible so that there are no hurdles of sickness and decay. The body degenerates in normal circumstances and as my mission is the spiritual evolution of humans and the progress in humans is very slow, I have accomplished a state where the body cannot decay or degenerate. All this was possible because of my intense Ichcha shakti.

Those people who are devoted to me, who pray to me with keen interest in serving others, to uplift themselves, I grant them boons. Their hurdles and struggles in life steadily vain, the family life becomes congenial, their health improves drastically and their mind begins to engage and gets occupied in spiritual practices and yoga with much interest. It is only and only the one with devotion who can attain me. Mei keval aur keval, keval sharaddha se prapt hota hun!!

Babaji began to explain to me in detail at this juncture about the pitfalls during evolution and progress of a human soul. He simplified and said- Poorva gyan  and vartmaan gyan.  When translated it means -Previous knowledge and Present Knowledge.

When born, every individual brings with him wisdom acquired by him from his previous lives. That is Previous knowledge or Purva Gyan. And Present knowledge or Vartaman gyan is the wisdom that we are acquiring in our present life.

The wisdom that we have carried forward in this life gets corrupted in the company of worldly, unwise, evil and lethargic people. By coming in constant companionship and interaction, we imbibe obtuseness, vices and impurities. So keep away from evil, vicious, greedy and immoral people. Benefit from the company of learned and wise. Enjoy silence and solitude.

Divulging about my soul he informed me – “When you were not born, you made such intense and compassionate prayers to God to free you from the bondage of your karmas from past life that God heard you after all, although it was not at all possible to even out or burn the effects of your humongous karmas in just one life. Because of your very intense Ichcha shakti to free yourself, there was so much power in your prayers that God gave you one chance to liberate yourself in this life. Although there were innumerable troubles, hardships and problems in the guise of hurdles, you did not relent and you overcame them. To be able to overcome so many hurdles, one must have strong sankalpa shakti and kriya shakti both. The force of the sanchit karmas is so much that it is comparable to the gushing and flooding of dam water. We must possess enough inner powers of ichcha shakti, sankalp shakti and kriya shakti to contain and cancel the force of our sanchit karmas. You have an irresistible desire to make use of your present life to serve others and therefore I have given you the seva or service of seekers and aspirants through  this weblog.

When all the sanchit karmas are exhausted and burnt, then one attains the state of Super Consciousness or Atma. It is the state of Brahma, the eternal truth, peace, harmony and bliss. Most of the sages and saints of today have themselves not reached the stage of third eye or agya chakra and they are advocating and teaching yoga to their disciples. But that is also alright, we must try to learn from everyone and move on.

Gurus who do not teach you dhyana,  dharana,  meditation and concentration respectively, they can never be able to take you to the state of samadhi and permanent bliss. Seekers who wish to reach and attain the highest must have a Param Gyani Guru or great master who shall liberate you from the consequences of karmas of all your past lives lived so far. And who has the potential of giving you a new lease of life full of happiness and serenity and a life of knowledge of Supreme Truth so that you never again create karmas of ignorance. Therefore, give up all unproductive activities and perform only valuable and positive activities, do not waste your time and make your life worthy and commendable. Add value to your life.”

Babaji again went back to tell me more about himself. He divulged about his tapas and intense spiritual practices done. “After the initiation of the highest level of Kriya, my body became unconquerable and invincible. My senses became extremely acute and I could no longer bear to hear the sound of clatter and any noisy words. Therefore, I decided to meditate in a place where there would be no disturbing sounds and I headed for the Himalayas on foot. I found a cave in a place where there was no human soul and I meditated in freezing climate without any cloth over me to test my abilities. Once assured, I offered all my accomplishments to God and asked him to now let me exit the world at the age of just fourteen! God’s answer was, “Give me this body; I shall use it for a purpose that no one has done before. I shall accomplish with it that no one has accomplished before.” I only bowed in front of that Divine Light and uttered, “It is yours.”

The samadhi state that I am in today is continuing for years and I shall relinquish this body once the cycle or kaal chakra of the kalyug changes to sat yuga- from the present age of machines to the age of truth and peace.

My dear child, you have never questioned me and have followed all my instructions and requests with full conviction and faith. I have sent you to many places about which you knew nothing but you took my words as words of God. I have sent you to my birth place and the places where I have meditated. The yantra made at my birth place is very sacred and you have seen it. It is the spot where I was born and the spot still emits great vibrations of ichcha shakti or the power of will. I had a very persistent and strong desire to help and salvage human beings. If you can concentrate on that spot, you will develop that same power within you.

And the two huge Banyan trees that you saw on the edge of the compound wall , they possess very great powers of sankalp shakti. To emancipate your soul, you must inculcate these special powers or else tamas or darkness envelops us and we bury ourselves in sunken depths of spiritual ignorance.”

Dear friends, Shri Mahavatar Babaji has inspired and encouraged all of us by saying these memorable words of eternal wisdom which I leave in the end, “So my dear children, awake, have mercy on yourself and enlighten yourself with the help of those souls who are never reluctant to salvage you and redeem your Spirits in Truth and eternity.   Hari Om Tatsat !

                    Hari Om  Tatsat!

                     Hari Om Tatsat!!”…

Forever in reverent thankfulness and gratitude for this blessed gift.  I gently bow once again with reverence to God, Shri Mahavatar Babaji and all my gurus for their kindness, compassion and love bestowed on me and you on this very sacred day.

Please note-This blog is structured as and stands on 4 pillars-** Yoga, Tapa, Dharma and Satya.
