30th Jan is approaching and it is the date when I enter a new post each month. The last few waves of external turbulence are ebbing and in spite of extra active and multitasking life, it is possible to think, compose and prepare an article in between my social commitments and another travel schedule to South of India.
Ruminating on these thoughts, I took some time off to rest and meditate in the afternoon of 24th Jan as morning meditation was not happening. It does not matter what time I meditate but the necessity to connect to my God and the Holy Masters is imperative. I just cannot function without them. Without staying in connection with them, life seems futile and aimless. I cannot move ahead at all without the spiritual guidance and wisdom given to me by the divine gurus since I have taken refuge in them some years ago. The normal vision of any layman is like walking in a dark cave without any sight! How can he see God?
However, if the Guru gives you the knowledge of what is right and what is not right, then you have Light to see inside with clarity and precision!
With these enlightening thoughts, I moved into deeper level of meditation. The realizations at that soulful time were giving me a sense of comfort and mental rest. I was also recalling some wondrous realization that I recently had about which you must have read in the last post of 20th Jan- The soul speaks to you- II. At that time there were many sealed subtle thoughts floating inside me which were unwrapped in my meditation just a few days ago. And they were about the power of our thoughts, our sankalpas. I recapitulated and reaffirmed about it and I cancelled a few thoughts that arose by seeing some people’s low learning capacity and consequently their low performance. One under performing person was testing my patience since morning and while I was telling that person to act with attentiveness and yield better quality of work, nonetheless I started giving myself an important lesson alongside.
I said to myself,” Sarika, if you want to do great work in future, if you want to yield great performance, then understand one thing very well today and learn it very fast, right away. And that is- all great work ever done in this world has been produced by those people who were surrounded by and were dealing with low performers. And in spite of so many people producing low quality work around them, they were able to produce a stupendous volume of great quality work without being affected. So know that people will not perform their jobs with efficiency and responsibility, instead focus your mind sharply on the goals that you have set for yourself and move a little closer everyday towards them at a quick pace. Do not frustrate yourself and ruin your day.”
As these thoughts emerged in me I felt extremely energized and the external situation seemed to no longer affect me. I meticulously planned my day by rearranging my schedule and created a slot for myself to do my writing in the brim-full day.
So to be back on the main thought. My revelations of 24th afternoon meditation were very propitious and encouraging. As I moved into further realms of meditation, I saw my consciousness being raised higher. I felt myself inwardly going up and rising and becoming lighter in body and mind. A sense of expansion took over me and just then re-connection with my soul took place. Our soul speaks to us you know. It speaks to us when we really want it desperately. It speaks to us when all the inane and pointless thoughts are thrown out like the trash of the house! The soul speaks to us when we do all actions right and noble in spite of people behaving with us with abhorrence, grievance, maliciousness, non co-operation or plain indifference. Our soul is a silent spectator of all our karmas. Our soul speaks to us when we love everyone as children of one God in spite of knowing that these same people are blind to God and everything else and hence they don’t act rightly and as a punishment or penalty from God, they do not possess high quality nervous system and they under perform.
Since morning I have harboured these realizations and when the Grace of God fell on me during 24th afternoon, the Soul- God in me broke the silence and spoke to me, “People are ineffective and show low performance not in one life but in progressive lives because they do not learn to concentrate. It all starts with concentration of mind. To concentrate is an act, an action in itself. Waves of distraction are always coming from all sides but one’s mind should be trained everyday to become stronger by not allowing it to banish and disperse.
Another important thing that people do not know is that mind’s concentration improves exorbitantly if one is constantly engaged in some kind of action and aliveness called karmas. Performing many kinds of activities enhances our brain power and multi tasking at varied levels is the real test. So do not shy away from doing multi skilled actions at multi levels to nurture and refine your brain. A high-powered brain shall develop with concentration and meditation both.”
As for me God said, “Concentration on God is not only during meditation but throughout the day as well as night. Today in spite of your engrossing in mundane activities, your thought was fixed on me. All throughout you were thinking inside while performing those actions- what will God teach me next? I have learnt that there is more power in our thoughts than food and sleep put together. You have also cancelled the futile thoughts arising out of external life situations. And you have decided to finish your daily lessons and then fulfil the social engagements.
Continued and persisting anchoring of mind on God gives a person very high level of knowledge and people who have high level of spiritual knowledge excel and perform multi tasks at multiple levels. This is because while their mind is enduring and engaged in some way to God, they have no inclination or time in hand to interact with low quality minds. Even if they interact with low quality minds and average people, their sankalpa or thought is always powerful and profound. Their sankalpa gives them more power to do great karmas in future and subsequently they have no time to squander or fritter away in unproductive actions!
Doing unselfish karmas, doing karmas for the welfare and benefit of the society and the planet, helping people silently by praying shall generate highest grade of results thus giving you a very pious, peaceful and divine life.”
Conclusion of the last three posts
- Our soul speaks to us.
- Real power comes from our mind
- That mind power is unleashed when we do noble acts for the society and the planet and when we practice concentration and meditation.
Foot note-Sorry for the blurred image of Padmapani in caves. The place was very crowded hence it was not possible to do a good job. However, I am inserting a good image for all to see and appreciate a classic piece of art.

Thank you dear Maa, once again for the wonderful and important lessons from Your personal journey. The painting of Padmapani is truly full of compassion, as You have given us the Knowledge of the true story behind it.
With lots of Love and Gratitude to God, Holy Masters and Maa,
Pranaam.
