Part-A As some of you may have observed, we have come quite afar on our journey of awakening and higher realization on this blog since its commencement three years ago. The last many posts in the middle of this segment-C about raising our consciousness are of higher order and value as they have endowed us with intense spiritual knowledge.
I am extremely grateful to the Mahavatar, our Param Guru- Shri Mahavatar Babaji to have revealed abundantly about the secrets of a yogi’s concealed powers with which he transcends the average human consciousness and elevates himself to higher divine perceptions. Some of those powers are Ichcha shakti, Sankalpa shakti and Kriya Shakti, the power of will, thought and action respectively. I consider myself very blessed to have discovered this remote ancient wisdom from none other than the greatest yogi and mystic of our times- Shri Mahavatar Babaji during my meditation. In fact, we have been endowed so tremendously that it is hard for us even to assess and measure the worth of it as there is nothing in this world that comes any close to this priceless gift! Once again I offer my profuse obeisance to God and the great Himalayan mahasiddha, mahayogi Shri Mahavatr Babaji before I embark once again on this sacred path with this post as an offering at their feet!!
Part B- My dear readers, it is essential to get to the depth of the given wisdom as well as the maturity of those posts because they are packed with enriching spiritual knowledge. I think those precepts need to be elaborated and explained further at this stage in order to understand the buried wisdom fully. This particular post is an effort in that direction. Please also refer older posts now and again so that you maintain the continuing chain of all the articles. Although the main focus is on Kriya Shakti today, nonetheless we are going to touch upon once again the three crucial concepts that were mentioned earlier- Ichcha shakti, Sankalpa shakti and Kriya Shakti. Furthermore, I anticipate that these posts should pose a few questions in your mind so feel free to ask and I shall be gratified to explain them to you. We now begin.
The power and capability of doing more work than normal is directly dependent on our thought power- the sankalpa shakti. This implies that our working and performing capacity also termed Kriya Shakti, is directly related to our sankalpa shakti, the thought power. One’s power to be able to perform additional work, more than the normal capacity of a man actually originates from the mind, from our thinking.
The more superior and higher our thoughts, the more energy we have in our mind.
The longer the time we are able to stop our mind from drifting and roaming in the physical and sensory world, the more our mind will be consigned to the Force of God and we will possess more power to do beneficial actions.
The longer the time we are able to fix and revolve our thoughts, sankalpa around God, the more energy we have and the more actions we can perform. Consequently, the quality of our actions is also of high order.
To put it explicitly, we will possess extra ordinary working power if we secure our mind around the thoughts of God for longer duration of time. The state of our mind and subsequently our working capacity are co-related and interdependent. Hence we can say that- As the mind, so the actions -Jaisa mana vaise karma. In consequence to that, it is thus derived that out of power of thought sankalpa shakti is born the power of actions called kriya shakti.
The power of thought –Sankalpa shakti rises from the power of will – Ichcha shakti. Only if you have a will to do something that Cosmic energy will start flowing in you. Will creates energy in the mind and body. The flow of Pranic Energy, the vital energy is directly related to the power of will in a man. Extra prana in a human body enters and begins to flow only after the man’s will. The flow of prana has a relation to the power of will of a person. If you exert and initiate an act of will in you, the vital energy commences to infiltrate the body.
Positive thoughts of the Divine have Cosmic energy present in it. If we constantly think of God by being loyal to Him, we are automatically recharged with Cosmic energy time and time again.
Cosmic Light has Cosmic Energy in it. During deep meditation, if you are able to connect to the Cosmic Light, you will be recharged with very powerful vibrations of healing, nurturing as well as for performance of well-being acts in the world.
(Please refer these articles- The role of power of will in a seekers life I, II & III for comprehensive information on power of will)
So if you wish to serve, live and work for the Lord, if you wish to make your present life divine, if you wish for peace and happiness, then keep your mind (sankalpa) at all times on God in one way or the other. And by the Grace of God, if you are in tune with God most of the time, the life tribulations will be sorted out by the divine step by step and our life will become less complicated, blissful and sweet!
We perceive God in our mind manas.
When our mind strays or roams about aimlessly, when it becomes ungraceful and peace is lost, it slips down and we become perturbed and anxious. It is at this time that we face the real problem and botheration. It is the disturbed state of mind in which the individual tends to make erroneous decision and unsound steps.
Once the mind becomes steady with the senses in full control, immerse such an unblemished mind in the ocean of divine ecstasy and bliss. A firm, stable and peaceful mind can immerse in God!
Bhagwad Geeta ch 2 verse 58
Yada sanharte chayam kurmoanganiva sarvasha:I
Indrayaniindriyayartheabhyastaya pragya prathishthaII
Translation:
When like a tortoise, which draws in its limbs from all directions, the yogi withdraws his senses from the sense objects, his mind is stable.
Tani sarvani samyamya yukta aaseet matpara:I
Vashe hi yasyeindrayani tasya pragya prathishtha II (61)
Therefore, having controlled them all and collected his mind one should sit for meditation, devoting one’s heart and soul to Me. For he, whose senses are mastered is known to have a stable mind.
Om Shri Keshvaya Namaha:
(To be concluded)
A peek into next post- Karmas are of two types-gross and subtle. Managing, controlling and riveting the subtle thoughts on one point or at a centre is a subtle act or karma which ultimately increases our working power- the Kriya Shakti.
Dear Sarika Aunty,
I returned back to read your blog after a very long time. It was more than a year back you had suggested me to write more on my experiences in life on my blog. I had felt really glad to receive your suggestion but got so engrossed in the everyday grind that I lost the zeal to reflect and write something. I realised one thing lately – how much valuable time we spend (or waste) on Facebook. And over the time I am going through another tough patch of life when the mind gets restless and anxious. In such moments I turn to your blog, for the reason I took the web from Mandira.
I really appreciate the amount of patience and inspiration you preserve to write such wonderful posts without actually expecting anything in returns, yet you diligently write the posts.
As you mention in your posts to submit our mind to the God to attain peace and serenity, I try doing the same for few days, but after sometime I get either bored or baffled to see things not happening as we expect it to be that I cease being even a bit spiritual. It’s a sinusoidal wave of troughs and crests in the belief and faith. Don’t we see people around not following the spiritual path, taking a bit of non-righteous or more practical one and yet remaining extremely satisfied and successful in their endeavours just because they remain headstrong? Probably the verdict is to be only headstrong to attain success. Then why the necessity to follow the way of God, to chant the Gayatri Mantra, to read the shlokas and sacred scriptures?
It would be great if you could throw some light on such a dilemma.
Regards,
Deepanjan
Welcome home my child! Glad to hear from you after a long lull. Will answer one by one to every question. No matter how long you stayed away, you are back richer with some useful experience, so no loss there. Yes, Face book bites into a lot of our time which can be utilized for inner growth and progress.
I am grateful to God that this blog has been a source of inspiration and strength in tough times for you. The purpose is being served because we as humans face common problems and everyone goes through good as well as bad times. The mind becomes uneasy and uncontrolled during troubled times so even if you spend just ten minutes twice daily to bring down peace from Above, the impact will be lessened.
It is not common to find people who are expending their time and energy in changing the direction and current of the untamed mind, just a few will be doing this. So let people do what they feel is right for them to do- non righteous, head strong in achieving success…..Remember every act of ours is going to reap a similar reaction in future. Let people follow the unspiritual path or way of life, but you create a pure & divine life for yourself. Efforts in the beginning in this direction may not procure you quick results but after some time your life will be peaceful, joyous, guiltless and sinless. So do not allow your mind to be fickle in pursuing a path which is so enriching as well as rewarding in future. Every tiny effort that you are going to invest on this path will endow you with tranquility, happiness and real success. Where as success in professional life can be very elusive. In Bhagwad Geeta, Bhagwan Krishna says that if you follow even a fraction of Dharma, you will be absolved of fear and death.
And those people who are not following the right path have a sorrowful ending- looming fear of death, sickness, depression, lack of mental and material prosperity, loneliness, guilt etc.
So follow the right path, do right actions and have faith in God and his justice. Wish and long for God’s love, care and protection and remain in His shelter, your mind will be restful.
Hope now you have clarity of vision. Or else write again, I am always there for you Deepanjan.
With many God’s blessings and his unconditional love.
Sarika aunty
Dear Sarika Aunty,
So much thanks to you for the quick reply. What you wrote really meant a lot to me. I subconsciously took effort to remain a bit calm and patient and I realised the benefits of them. And life is not just filled with problems and rough times, it co-exists with memorable moments, whether a complete stranger smiles at you for no reason or some very close friend calls you up after a long time. In life I have noticed, most of the challenges I have faced in my studies and career. Probably they are signals from God to become stronger and more mature.
There are lot many things I would like to discuss with you. But today I want to ask you something. Over the past few years (especially since 2008) I have noticed God has listened to me in the very tough times, almost granted me what I had wished for in my career. What surprises me is the way the things have shaped up over the years. I was working in Mumbai, loved the city and the people but I always had missed Delhi where I grew up and always longed to be with my parents. And one fine day when I had really yearned for it while driving to office , it was announced by my team leader I will be shifted to Delhi within the same organisation. I was really pleasantly surprised.
Such experiences and several others, which I will share with you sometime, somehow has strengthened my belief in God. Yet when I reflect at times, I realise I have shown impatience, have succumbed to anger or selfishness, not to the extent of remotely harming someone but just to keep the faith in my self being. Are these things natural?
Another thing I wish to ask , have you had Out-Of-Body-Experiences. Would you recommend the same to gain control on mind? I need your views on the phenomenon or you could write a post on the same.
Take Care and Lots of Regards,
Deepanjan
Dear Deepanjan,
You have already embarked on a new journey. Before I answer on the present comment, know that this sansara or maya has a magical pull, attraction power but like quick sand, everybody gets entangled and perishes in it eventually. One does not have the restrain power. So we have to be in this world but not of this world. Go to the seashore, dabble and splash your hands and feet, enjoy the tides but don’t go so far that you get drowned in the sea!! This was in reference to your last comment. Hope this philosphy gives you a deeper insight, contemplate on it.
Next, yes God is very merciful and can hear and see us all the time, no matter whether you are awake or asleep. Its presence is omni and all pervading because it resides right within you!! So whatever you have yearned for earnestly and what is fair and reasonable God grants them to us.
Yes, every opportunity every experience is there to teach us so learn your lessons fast and get ready for the next one. You will become more balanced, insightful, calm and mature.
“Yet when I reflect at times, I realise I have shown impatience, have succumbed to anger or selfishness, not to the extent of remotely harming someone but just to keep the faith in my self being. Are these things natural?”
The answer to your this Q is that we have lived in surroundings where this is so common so it looks natural. Anger and selfishness emerges out of lack of wisdom. So instead of anger practice patience and calmness and instead of selfishness practice gratitude and generosity,, you will get over your shortcomings. Also do charity, reach out to deprived people and then you will realize how much God has given you!!!
Out of body experience is not reqd to gain control of mind. As our ignorance which comprises of greed, anger, ego, desire and vasanas is wiped out with gyan, knowledge of Divine, the mind finds peace and tranquility on its own. A pure mind is calm by nature as it has no where to wander!!!. It is anchored to the peace, love, joy and knowledge of God hence it becomes peaceful.
And when one reaches a transcedental stage, one is already disconnected or detached with the realm of physical body. The mind, when connects and stabilizes in Superconsciousness, the awareness of body is not there. Go back to older posts where Consciousness, Superconsciousness has been discussed. Also read Thought power or sankalpa shakti.
What I have related to you is serious, think about it and also realize as much as you can.
Write back to me but as I am going out of town I shall be able to reply only after Monday. Till then read the previous posts.
I am extremely happy to get feedback from you all. Always welcome!!
With blessings
Sarika Aunty
Thank you so much once more for clearing my doubts…I am reading the other posts in your blog…

Deepanjan
Like this para ” So if you wish to serve, live and work for the Lord, if you wish to make your present life, if you wish for peace and happiness, then keep your mind( sankalp) at all times on God in one way or the other. And by the Grace of God, if you are in tune with God most of the time,
the life tribulations will be sorted out by the divine step by step and our

Also what you have replied to Deepanjan is worth pondering over , ” Know that this sansara or maya has a magical pull, attraction power but like quick sand, everybody gets entangled and perishes in it eventually. One does not have the restrain power. So we have to be in this world but not of this world. Go to the seashore, dabble and splash your hands and feet, enjoy the tides but don’t go so far that you get drowned in the sea!! ”
How wonderful it would be to see such positive and wise quotes from your blog in the Daily Newspapers around the world.
Shahid you have an enriched mind. You are extracting older posts’ portions and highlighting them and everyone is benefitting in this exercise. So thank you very much. We need to go back to older posts again many times because of the gravity in them. Also I suggest that whatever you are highlighting or like the most should be stored in a separate folder in order to use them in some other form in future.
Regarding the attraction power of the sansara, very few people can get a hang of this attribute of Maya although they may advice others or give sermons to the followers. A yogi is like a turtle as said in Bhagwad Gita who folds its limbs in case of danger……
the rest you delve into further, you will understand very well what I am saying. To be in this world but not be of it.
Have a blessed day.
Om Shri Keshvaya Namaha,
“As the mind, so the actions -Jaisa mana vaise karma”
My lord, always want to be with you, do not want to go behind the material pleasure,
may able to use my will power for you, to good thoughts, to good karmas,
may lord bless all of us for our journey,
thanking you ma,
“The man who sees me in everything
and everything within me
will not be lost to me, nor
will I ever be lost to him.
He who is rooted in oneness
realizes that I am
in every being; wherever
he goes, he remains in me.
When he sees all being as equal
in suffering or in joy
because they are like himself,
that man has grown perfect in yoga.”
– Bhagavad Gita.
With love,
Midhun
