A quick visit to ancient site of South India- Mahabalipuram, today’s Mammalapuram

#154

Dear friends, this is a surprise post!

I had taken a long round of pilgrimages to South India in the month of Dec’12 between 13th and 18th. Blogging did not stop in those days in spite of travelling.

I also went to Madurai and KanyaKumari between 26th and 29th Dec’12.

Photos were shared with you of Pondicherry, Thanjuvar and Kanya Kumari. However, after that a lot of activities of the blog have kept me preoccupied since then. Today I showcase some of my Mammalapuram pictures, which was visited on our way back to Chennai from Pondicherry.

Pictures of Madurai are still pending and shall be shared with you soon.

Mammalapuram was not our pilgrimage site, it was rather from the perspective of seeing India’s glorious past and appreciate its culture, architecture and art. It is a World Heritage Site.

This place falls in between Pondicherry and Chennai and can be seen with four to five hours in hand.  We had less time than this yet we managed to see 5 Rathas and Arjuna’s penance site. The other sites were left out. If only we knew beforehand that we could  manage the Shore Temple also, we would never have missed it. But the driver was panicking and hurried us and bundled us to the airport as soon as he could in haste!

Anyhow, whatever was seen was breathtaking and marvelous. The Dravidian architecture carved out of hard rocks and granite are worth at least one visit if we are near Chennai or Pondicherry. The Pallava dynasty built it around 5th century. Mahabalipuram as it was called earlier, was once a prominent port of South India and it still reflects very strongly the dignified and prosperous past of rich Dravidian history of Southern part of India.

One suggestion for the would be travellers to this place. Please keep in mind when you visit this place that Mammalapuram is very sunny and hot all the year round. In summer the heat is blistering and can take its toll. So it is better to see this wonderful place during winter times between November and February or else take all precautions to beat the heat.

Steps back into history…..

Mammalapuram is still the best place for stone idols and carvings. Temples from far and wide in the world place orders for idols in this city. Stones of mainly black or gray color are used for making idols. There are so many good shops that exhibit local fine sculpting artistic skills. We stepped in a shop only to appreciate the craftsmanship and please the shopkeeper. We soon discovered that all the items in the shop were made by the father of the shopkeeper. Out of respect for the unknown face, we bought some superbly carved things.

His girls came back running from school after it got over to be with their mother. It was a very sweet sight to see the younger one, who was brimming over with love and happiness for her mother as she came storming in the shop to embrace her tightly.

I was very happy to see this momentous event and felt good that the girls were being sent to school for education for their better lives in future. The younger one was  irresistible and deserves a place on my blog to show us what ecstasy is. Her smile was truly infectious….

The procedure and progression of knowing our soul-I

#153

003

Introduction

My dear readers and friends, you are welcome back.

This portion of my write up Part- A is unplanned and spontaneous. Part B came earlier than this. I decided to make two parts of this post like many before, nonetheless in the end both the parts will be interrelated regarding what is being advocated in both. Part A has my interface with Shri Mahavatar Babaji and his advice to me regarding the new post, while Part B is what Swami Nityananda preached us by giving us a lot of wisdom and sagacious advice to everybody here.

Even so, Shri Mahavatar Babaji has given us many good tips.  He has addressed all his devotees and disciples alike spread globally. He has urged me to tell the slow walkers of this good path to walk faster now. They should pick up quickly by this time. Those who have kept their pace at medium speed should investigate why they are not taking quicker steps. Where is their mind engaged and what is it that makes them tread at a comfortable pace? And those aspirants who are marching fast on this path should ensure that they keep their mind focused and introverted and maintain their swift pace continuously. They should not allow their mind to be diffused or disoriented. Apart from these tips of great advice, there was a lot more that was given to me. I had a lengthy conversation two days back with the Spiritual adviser and most humble Guide, my Holy Grand Master Shri Mahavatar Babaji. Moreover, it also becomes obligatory for me to transmit, narrate those important facts as it concerns each of us. This is what transpired and emerged between us one blessed evening currently.

Part A

I had to catch up with sleep on 28th Jan so I slept in the day and I woke up in the evening at 5 p.m. with a very pleasant feeling. Even before I woke up fully and with my eyes still shut, I began having a long conversation with Shri Mahavatar Babaji with God’s grace. He keeps a vigil over me all the time like a sweet Divine Father and he waited till I was fully rested and refreshed enough to resume my blogging activities. The last many days were engaged in familial duties and I tried to finish as much as possible so that I could return to my writing table. I was a very sleepy and tired person and so I put aside everything and decided to gain some energy and vitality and be back quickly. Just before I fell in deep sleep around 3 in the afternoon, my mind was delving intensely in the making of the approaching post. I was thinking what should be the content of our next lesson, where do we go from here and what should the devotees do to make progress and march ahead. While I was contemplating on this matter, I felt some calmness and relaxation and inadvertently I fell in deep sleep smoothly. I don’t even know when. All the disturbing noises in my area died out and I slept peacefully for continuous two hours in bounteous bliss.

My unending love for awakening and enlightenment and undying love for my Divine father Babaji, supersedes everything. This is the first thing that occurred no sooner had I regained my wakefulness. I woke up very fresh, Shri Babaji was waiting for me. In a deep meditative state when I was awake, he spoke so promptly, “Do you recall what God told you some months ago about me?”

I instantly murmured sweetly like a babe, “Yes, I do. It was said more than on one occasion.”

“Then begin your post with that first. I have given you the highest spiritual knowledge. Your blog is placed highest in the web-world and all those people who are surfing and have come here incidentally can find all their answers. Everything is here.  I am dispensing all the wisdom through it. You are my medium.”

The conversation lasted more than an hour and that supplementary energy coming straight from a powerful source of my Guru made me more invigorated, placid and tranquil apart from that of sleep. The tiredness vanished somewhere as if it wasn’t ever there in the first place. There was a lot that came as helpful advice for each one of us out of which whatever can be imparted in one single post shall be given to you.

My dear ones, what was Babaji referring to? What God told me on some days about Shri Mahavatar Babaji?

Extract from ‘How to know our soul?’

“During the concentrated moments, God told me that Shri Babaji is one of the rare, brilliant gems among mankind for the reason that he is so close to God. When I inquired God what must be his state of mind most of the times as it is my desire to peep into it out of genuine curiosity and aspiration. The reply was that he is in godly ecstasy most of the times since he is so near to God.”

Dear blessed readers and devotees, I take so much joy in revealing to you what God has told me on more than a few occasions. God has appeared to me as effulgent, beautiful, shimmery rays of Light on at least three or four occasions and in explicit words just to emphasize the fact that in this whole creation which God has created, Babaji stands near Him, God.  This means first comes God understandably. After which God’s highest realizations and attributes and all elements are reflected maximum in the personage of Shri Mahavatar Babaji in our living, physical world!

In fact, when I was writing my first article on the personal features of Shri Babaji in 2008, ‘The Light of the world Shri Mahavatar Babaji-I, one day completely bemused and mystified to the hilt, with pure innocence I asked him abruptly, “Who are you, Babaji?”

He chuckled and declared with a bemusing, very gentle, soft and clear voice, “I am the CEO of this world!” I loved it, it was to my heart’s desire.

In a spate of swift moments, I immediately comprehended that he has all the Godly powers entrusted on him to run this entire Universe which he does with utmost humility and fairness. It took me many days to let this revelation sink in. I felt extremely blessed to have got an opportunity to know him, to be able to come so close to him. A divine blessing for me, surely.

Again when I was in contact with our beloved God as narrated earlier in ‘How to know our soul?’, I was informed that as Shri Mahavatar Babaji is so near to God, he is our Divine Father too, he is everybody’s Divine Father.

My dear everyone, please know that it is at the behest of the wish of God that we have this knowledge at this point of time with us and therefore so much revelation, so much exposure and disclosure. And because our dearest Babaji does not speak anything to us unless he is guided and prompted by the will of God, we must listen to him very attentively. We must think and ponder what is the reason for this disclosure and rendering at this time and juncture of this blog.

If you look back I have written in the last post right in the beginning that it is the concluding post on the topic of soul but as you can see here this post has become an extension of the same title and subject matter in spite of deciding to wrap up the series. As you all are coming back again on this blog to search, know and learn, there is an equivalent force behind you that is working without your knowledge. The power and presence of God and the divine souls are at work continuously. They are attentive and aware of our improvement, progress, and also personal needs. Looking at all this and keeping everyone’s capacities and requirements in mind carefully, an astute and perceptive decision has been taken by the omnipresent God which reflects directly in the words spoken by the Masters. At an auspicious moment, it was decided by the Almighty that hence forth, a shift has to be taken on the blog to a new, greater height and pinnacle.

A surge to progress and direct contact and union with God should be undertaken on the blog and so all the readers have to be assured and informed well in advance so that they are  pretty well prepared in every sense. From now onward, more light and information, discussion will take place regarding God, the almighty Power and Force instead of Shri Mahavatar Babaji. To make this more clear let me tell you that if you see carefully, you will come to know that Segments I, II & III were about the stages  of an advancing yogi. In between, the middle section revealed about the personal side of Shri Mahavatar Babaji which was so much welcome by us because so little is either known or written about him in the literary and spiritual world. Posts which have contents related to Banyan Trees and some sages, they all resonate the same objective. They  tell us that they feel so blessed and honored to be serving in some way for Mahavatar Babaji; they all feel extremely happy if our dearest Babaji accepts something from them, more so if it is some sort of service to others.

The truth is that some important aspects of Babaji’s personal life has been provided to me through some other agencies in nature also with the wish of God apart from my meditations. The reason is that Babaji does not like to talk too much about himself, in fact very little. On the contrary, he likes to speak through silence by which he provides us all the solutions and answers, although it may be a different matter that we are not yet so developed in mind to receive the intimations which are sent by him through his mind powers. He likes to meditate most of the time so that he can communicate with us in some method mentally like inspirations, telepathy, intuition or clairvoyance and clairaudience via the astral sky in the higher ranges of the atmosphere.

With the post -A foreword before we take a new turn into our future spiritual training on this website, if you remember we took a major shift by telling you formally that this blog is an internet class and is global in nature where spiritual lessons are imparted.

Please read again the very powerful post, ‘I get a new Life, a new Light in Badrinath-III’. I highlight this portion to emphasize that in Karna Prayag when I was meditating, Shri Mahavatar Babaji pronounced and propounded-

“God is an eternal force. That force is in you, recognize it. This Universe is his creation made of illusion, maya. Separate the maya from Ishwar God. God is infinite and so is his creation- endless. The supreme knowledge with which one knows God is also eternal shashwat. Attain that. Separate the perishable body with the eternal Brahma. You are Brahma. You are Eternal. Thou art That.”

This was preparing us for an elevation in future. Along with his and God’s words, we have been given tremendous amount of Force and Power to recharge ourselves to take a giant step from this particular post onward. And thereafter, we touched subtle topics of our Soul. All the columns and articles which were explaining the idea, concept or the fundamentals about our soul were delivered with some personal experiences and examples to make them easy to understand and believable. Those of you who have not read the previous portions need to peek into them soon to enable yourselves to grasp what we are heading for now onward.

From today another big Force has been added in this site by means of such dynamic revelations by God and Spiritual giants in the league of Shri Mahavatar Babaji and Shri Nityandanda Swami. My humble pranam and eternal gratitude to them. We will always be indebted to them in our lives to come.

After revealing who Babaji is in earlier so many posts, God does not want to reveal in excess about him. A lot has been disclosed about him on this medium called Spirit in life, and as most of his time is spent in relaying dynamic mental forces in meditative hours in day and night for world’s spiritual welfare, he prefers to remain in silence and seclusion.

As a result we now shift our focus from Babaji’s personal attributes to attributes of God. After having come to know so much about Shri Mahavatar Babaji, it should be easier to compare and be acquainted with the Highest Force which is often named God. As they both are so similar, we should not have a great difficulty in knowing the attributes of God that dwells everywhere- in us and in every particle in the Universe.

Dear friends, you will be delighted to know that some more messages have come to me in the blessed afternoon of 28th Jan while I rested to regain and gather my thoughts for this exquisite post, even if the post will get extended and drawn out.

Babaji whispered further, “Then begin your post with that first……Tell them that you are not a seeker anymore. You are a teacher here. In your spare time, you always tell me about all my disciples and the events on the blog. Not once have you felt that the achievements and success of your blog are yours. Your sense of surrender is very acute. You have been discussing the improvement, progress or regression of all the devotees and seekers who have come to you. You pray for them and ask for their deliverance. You have been taking all approvals from me and have acted upon only those ideas and programs which I have favoured because you rely wholly on my judicious actions and advice. I have given you telepathic powers so that the communication channel is firm and unbroken with God and me. Your deep sense of discipline, commitment and faith is what I expect from all the other aspiring devotees. If they too will keep their Master on top of everything, they too will surge ahead without any delay in their rapid spiritual development. If they can match the sterling quality of obedience which you possess, they will attain victory, glory and uncontainable joy in times to come.”

Part B

Swami Nityananda gave me darshan on 22nd Jan morning during meditation after a long hiatus. At the back of my mind, I was trying to solve something.  He gave me solutions to some of my personal matters and also blessed me with so much more divine knowledge of which he is so capable. I am of firm belief that it is to be shared with others on this platform for everybody’s use because it is my ‘prasad’.

Swami Nityananda threw a question at me so unexpectedly,

“What is the reason that it takes us so long to know our divinity and to unfold it, although it is already present since our inception?”

Translation, original words follow:

“Your weaknesses, flaws, frailties are the cause of your downfall. Flaws are deeds. Every deed has its consequences. The weight of the consequences has to be carried, and to do that time is needed. New births have to be taken in accordance to those deeds and in those new births, which is a capturing snare, the jeeva or individual soul falls into it.

The knowledge of Self releases us from our darkness. Darkness means vanishing of awareness, doing wrong actions and falling on the wrong path. Whenever we do actions of deceit, betrayal or selfishness, we are forbidden gradually from attaining the knowledge of our Spirit or Atma. This is because we have to bear the consequence of our own wrong actions and we bear them on our body and mind.

Those people, who in the name and guise of religion, dharma are not telling the whole Truth to others, will find their knowledge waning slowly.

And those people who are enjoying  good time in the name of religion or God is only because of some good deeds of earlier life. However, because of their wrong deeds of today, the previous lives’ good deeds will be washed away soon. And that’s why I too call Shri Mahavatar Babaji a Banyan Tree and the rest of today’s new age, modern Gurus are like changing weathers, withering seasonal flowers.

We should once and for all attain that knowledge which will annihilate all our ignorance so that we are able to understand a new world, a new life. Those who walk on the Right Path, God will sustain them and their path, and God will give all blessings and give full knowledge.

We must first attain wisdom, knowledge which is so difficult to attain, many lives are required to attain that knowledge. Just like with great efforts we make rose water with roses, so is the hard process of attaining the greatest wisdom.

Once we achieve the highest wisdom and knowledge, we must remain in that state and not err. We must live in that state for a few years after which we will stabilize in it and never come down.”

In his own words:

“Vikar girata hai. Vikar karam hota, karam ka phal hota hai. Karam phal bhogna padta hai, bhogne ke liye hame samay chahiye hota hai kyunki vaisa janam lena padega aur naye janam mei phir ek chakra chal padta hai.

Atma ka gyan humko hamare andhkar se chudata hai. Andhakar matlab chetna ka lupt hona, galat kaam karna and galat raah par padna. Jab jab hum dhokha, jhooth, daga karte hai, swaarth ke karma karte hai, tab tab hum apne aapko Atma gyan se dheere dheere  nishkasit kar dete hai kyunki jo humne vikar, galat kaam kiye hai uska phal hume bhogna padta hai aur use hum shareer aur mana se bhogte hai.

Jo log dharam ke naam par, uski dhal par logon ko pura sach nahi batate, unka gyan dheere  dheere lupt ho jata hai.

Aur jo woh  ab khushi,  aish paa rahe hai woh pichle janam ke achche karam hai, so mila hai. Lekin aajke galat kaam unki sari kamai ko saaf kardenge. Is liye maine Babaji ko Bargad ka Ped kaha aur aaj ke baki sadhuoko,  guruo ko, dharmik guruo ko passing show, aati jaati bahar kaha hai. Woh ek mausam ke phool hai.

Hume ek baar gyan aisa lena chahiye jo hamesha ke liye sari tabahi khatam kar de, nayi duniya, naya jeevan  ko samjhane ke liye. Jo nek raha par chalega, uske raaste ko, aur usko bhagwan banaye rakhega, usko bhagwan poora gyan dega, khoob ashish dega.

Pehle vivek, gyan prapta karna hai jo ke bahut kathin hai, isme bahut janam lagte hai. Jaise desi gulab mei se bahut mehnat se Gulab ka jal banta hai, aise hi kadi mehnat se gyan prarpt hota hai.

Gyan milene ke baad usmei bahut kaal tak rahena hai, koi galti nahi karni hai. Kuch saal usi avastha mei rahena hai, uske baad hum sthir ho jayenge aur kabhi bhi neeche nahi ayenge……..”

Om Guru Narayan Narayan Hari Hari; Guru Narayan Narayan Hari Hari; Guru Narayan Narayan Hari Hari…….

How to know our soul?

#152

This is the concluding post on the topic and theme about our soul. There were earlier posts which were connected with issues of why it is important to know our soul, and that our real identity is that of a soul and hence we should believe in that identity. But before I begin to go in the details of the next obvious question of how to know our soul, I will have to tell you one of the random, beautiful spiritual experiences that I had in the last fortnight.  I just noted it down for the sake of it in my diary because it was so wonderful. I think it will be useful here to tell you about it because it has a lot of grave information encompassed in it. The information provided here is not an ordinary one and it comes to us only as a grace of God sometimes if we are considered by God in some blessed moments. It is a knowledge that we should possesses so that we know who we are and also how we should be careful in what we are creating now in terms of actions that we perform day and night.  We will also understand that we are living in a Universe in which there is a Supreme Power and also there are  many unseen  crucial guidelines laid by it about which we have never known and do not get any opportunity to discover them anyhow. And as this is the wish of Shri Mahavatar Babaji that I should reveal those Truths, I am making it open for you to also know about them and in this way benefit your personal as well as spiritual life after realizing those Truths in your soulful moments.

And if you read the  paragraphs below, you will surely feel that discovering these Truths is so imperative and essential. There is nobody but the Divine Masters who have mercy on us and help us salvage our poor lives in order to make them enriched and most useful. The progression of our soul which is so hidden from us, from buried and sunken to the stage of its manifestation is carried out with the helping hand of the Divine Masters.

Part- A

Reflections

On 02.01.13 I was trying to be acquainted with the importance of Palani, my latest pilgrimage, in relation to my spiritual growth and how I am impacted by my recent visits to the places that I just toured. In the evening I fell into deep meditation unpredictably and during the concentrated moments, God told me that Shri Babaji is one of the very rare, brilliant gems amongst mankind for the reason that he is so close to God, extremely near. When I enquired God what must be his state of mind most of the times as it is my desire to peep into it out of genuine curiosity and aspiration. The reply was that he is in godly ecstasy most of the times since he is so near to God. As God was still speaking to me, I put up a spontaneous question.  And the question was-“At this moment God, you are speaking to me. Is it that you spoke to Babaji in the same manner as you are speaking to me just now, in a gentle, soft murmur? Is this how you connect  and come  to    us? You had said to Babaji long time ago in Badrinath, “Give me this body……..” as mentioned in ‘The state of Super Consiousness-II’ And has Babaji been living such a long life of penance and service to mankind since then, after listening to your very gentle, satin like Voice erupting from his heart, his soul? Did he make this critical decision relying on this Voice only?

Quoting from that post again to bring home the point.

Babaji again went back to tell me more about himself. He divulged about his tapas and intense spiritual practices done. “After the initiation of the highest level of Kriya, my body became unconquerable and invincible. My senses became extremely acute and I could no longer bear to hear the sound of clatter and any noisy words. Therefore I decided to meditate in a place where there would be no disturbing sounds and I headed for the Himalayas on foot. I found a cave in a place where there was no human soul and I meditated in freezing climate without any cloth over me to test my abilities. Once assured, I offered all my accomplishments to God and asked him to now let me exit the world at the age of just fourteen! God’s answer was, “Give me this body; I shall use it for a purpose that no one has done before. I shall accomplish with it that no one has accomplished before.” I only bowed in front of that Divine Light and uttered, “It is yours.”….

Returning to my reflections.

I  paused quickly at this point to think and wondered how such a faint Voice that erupts from within our soul is so crucial and life altering. How powerful this phenomenon is! Based on this Voice and trusting it blindly, Babaji had yielded everything wholeheartedly and has been living a life of a hermit reclusively in anonymity since eighteen centuries!! This goes on to say and proves that I should also appreciate the power of my soul’s Voice and depend on it without thinking twice. It is a reliable source of dependence and hence should be trusted fully.

After my interpretations and knowing, I have understood that the Voice of my soul  is extremely powerful and I should depend on it instinctively because it shows me the way and tells me what to do. It gives me clarity, wisdom to understand things rightly and after knowing everything without any doubt, I also act judiciously.

My assumptions go on to show that this silent Voice that is in me appears unannounced and converses with me when it wishes to do so. It comes with a definite purpose and vanishes amusingly back to its source as it had emerged impromptu.  At its arrival, it opens the gates of the vast secrets of the unknown sacred cosmic principles!! I am ecstatic and I pour out my passion, secretly hidden emotions and all my unending curiosity at its altar humbly and thankfully!! I want to know and know more. More so because I can tap my resilient source of infinite information and wisdom that explores the concealed and shrouded laws for humanity laid down by God Himself. When the Cosmic Father replies to my queries and irrepressible search for Truth, I am humbled, satiated as well as immensely gratified.

Knowing the Truth with the Divine Father is a very wonderful experience, it is extraordinary…… It is explosive because it fires my imagination and I begin to soar higher. I ascend to the higher realms where the saints and sages rest in interim periods between two lives. I wish and long to stay there as long as I can do. However, the truth remains that the stay is quite short yet the results dynamic and that is why I just said that knowing the Truth is explosive. Even if the stay in the celestial world could be a very short one, the results are going to be very dynamic. Knowing the Truth is an overwhelming experience in itself   and it should be tried sincerely by all of us. It should be taken up seriously!

Part-B

How to know our soul?

We can only know our soul when we have already accumulated and earned an extremely large numbers of virtuous and pious karmas which take many lives. Some of the actions in this large reservoir would be what you do out of your own good intentions and good nature  naturally and the rest would be as per the guided instructions of the Divine Master given by mere grace from time to time.

What should we not do to know our soul?

Secondly my soul also got to know during my reflections that there are-

Four very serious prohibited karmas. They are-

  • Betrayal by children towards their parents and likewise by  parents towards their children
  • Abandoning of sick persons, more so of our father and mother
  • Misusing Dharma and Spirituality for selfish ends
  • Deceiving our spouse

What should we do to know our soul?

  • Sadhana – they are the daily spirtual practices that an aspirant does in order to make his life more spiritual and pure and pious.
  • Tapasya- done by advanced yogis at the behest of their gurus to attain higher goals. It is decided and depends on the yogi’s  destiny, the capacity of the yogi, and the  guru’s will.
  • Meditation- to cleanse our mind. Concentration of mind to dissuade it from losing its focus and purity of intention.

Knowing the soul stops us from doing prohibited karmas and hence the illumination of the soul is the guideline with which we attain the pure spiritual state of mind. After knowing the soul, the jeeva or individual soul liberates itself from falling in the web of unending suffering caused by itself by performing those unwanted actions.

(Because of shortage of time, I have not been able to do full justice to this post. In the coming days, some additions will be made if necessary)

Why is it important to know our soul?-II

Introduction

Spirit In Life blog is for those who are desirous of gaining right spiritual knowledge and seeking moksha or liberation in modern age from the bondage and slavery of the results of past deeds and actions effected in many past lives by one’s soul.

The source and origination of the sacred liberating knowledge has to be from an erudite and wise soul who has himself/herself experienced all the metaphysical aspects related to the whole process of the liberation of the bonded soul. It takes years and innumerable lives to perfect the soul. Until the knotted and tangled soul untangles itself from its own catching and web mire , it is never possible to experience the Truth about God!

The background

From ‘Thanjuvar, panorama of Brihadeeshwar temple’.

“This much for the back ground of the temple. However, there had to be a larger cause to visit this extraordinary place, one of the oldest Shiva temples in India. Shri Mahavatar Babaji tells me that as a special gesture and out of kind-heartedness towards his devotee, he sent me to this holy place so that the sins of our lineage would be cleansed and peace would return to some of our forefathers who are in a turmoil even now in some other world because of their past misgivings”…..I am speechless at the volume and intensity of graciousness showered at us by the holiest and most sacred Guru, Shri Babaji. I prostrate before him humbly and thank him abundantly for being so kind to our past generations whom I don’t even know, yet have made a contact in my meditations and in return earned their profuse blessings……. This one is dedicated to Lord Shiva for relieving the pain of so many unknown faces and giving them deep peace after ages of turmoil……! May God give all of us peace and more lasting peace, where ever we are”…….!!

The Question “Thanks for blessing us all with photos of one of the oldest Shiva temples of India. And it is so wonderful to know our beloved Babaji’s purpose to send you there! How kind, caring and loving he is! And how sacred that temple is! Can u please tell in detail, how the divine vibes of such place works for our forefathers in cleansing their sins and getting peace?”

The explanation  Our mind, manas  perceives God.

On the other hand, when this mind gets attracted and induced in the illusion, Maya of God, the soul remains enmeshed in that attraction for many, many lives. It is for this reason that the mind cannot perceive God. With holy company, concentration, meditation and one- pointedness, the mind has to be brought back in focus and made concentrated. The objective of the sadhana or spiritual efforts is this very reason. And to attain success in this endeavour is involved many lives, only after which the mind becomes perfectly ready for God realization. God is perceived and seen in the temple of the  mind.

However, prior to this stage, the mind drifts pointlessly to the extent of being senseless and performs serious misgivings and wrongdoings. The net result is that the forthcoming lives are hard, harsh, filled with all types of sorrows and problems. Happiness eludes and peace dodges the man all the time. Real happiness is never easy to attain.

To attain Moksha or liberation means that we should perform noble, glorious and sacred deeds consciously now and the leftover negative deeds should be nullified with grace, patience and being sombre. This amounts to suggest that we shall allow the leftover deeds or sanchit karmas to manifest and appear with consent, endurance and grace. We are good at facing the positive responses of the positive past deeds but tackling unsavoury and disagreeable ones is not everyone’s cup of tea! And it is during such times, most of the people are prone to recreate some more erroneous, sweet and sour actions, whatever type they may be. But we must not do this. We should anyhow clear our past baggage and debt with practical wisdom, grace and patience.

In some specific life when we have acute realizations, we wish to start all over again and we begin afresh. For this we require spiritual guidance which only a realized Master can provide since he is the one who can look into your past and present lives both. The Master  will impart divine instructions as per your devotion and dedication from time to time, which you must follow sincerely. When you do this, the old script is erased and gradually a new script is inscribed and emblazoned. This demands your extreme patience and testing endurance. At its completion as a final point, we get repose and peacefulness. We also obtain great moments of divine ecstasy and resounding peace. God rewards us and blesses us with his own wonderful secrets’ insights! That is why it is important to know our soul.

Conclusion If we do not turn our lives and steer it in a new direction, the soul wanders and strays in various places by reincarnating in those places and connects with sometimes good and sometimes bad souls.   In this process, the soul wanders off and lives indiscriminately for thousands and multiple of thousand years. To stop this senseless meandering and long-winded journey, it is quintessential to know our soul.

Now let’s return to the question why I was sent to Thanjuvar by Shri Babaji as asked by one reader of lately.

Part-I  The reply is that when you clear all your old and long-drawn-out debts called the sanchit karmas with patience and endurance, in the end what remains inside you is only love, compassion and mercy. Your prayers express and ask for only salvation and peace for everybody. God listens to your invocations and you do those deeds by which the people around you are relieved of their miseries, agonies and woes. Sometimes, there are chronic family and personal problems which refuse to extinguish and the problems overwhelm you. Not only this, the chronic problems stand as hindrances and the cause is unknown. In such a peculiar situation, what happens is that this shadow which is cast over your life has its source in the other world where our forefathers are residing temporarily. If they had exploited others or inflicted people or  subjugated the weaker sections or any such serious negatives when they were alive, they are at this time suffering mentally in the next world as a punishment from God. They are in a prison. Their collective karmas affect you even now, more so if the living generations are not living a life of Dharma or righteousness. Just a few have an inclination out of so many to lead a moral and righteous life; most of the people in all families live an average or very mundane life. We are influenced by the collective karmas of the present family and the generations of the past even now, to a large extent although we may be unaware.

If the negative strength coming from that source  is quite awesome, the Guru intervenes mercifully in some rare cases. To protect his disciple from the negative effects of the previous negative deeds of their generations gone by, the dark shadow is removed masterfully.  The Master wants his subdued disciples to earn more good karmas as a prize and reward for their unselfishness and boundless love for their own Guru in order to make their future more happy and prosperous. The Guru also has compassion for the dead, crying souls and makes sure their agonies are relieved and therefore the disciple is asked to perform highly meritorious deeds in some specific places. With those good intentions, if the pilgrimage is made, the results are far more than one can imagine. Not only is the disciple blessed by the previous generations and the hindrances removed, the dead souls in this whole process are absolved of many sins because the noble deeds of the disciple bring them a sense of freedom, restfulness and redemption. The disciple thereafter has more smoothness, calmness and abundance in every sphere of life. And all this is only possible when the Teacher and the student both are totally one with the will of God!

Part II of the question

Can you please tell in detail, how the divine vibes of such place works for our forefathers in cleansing their sins and getting peace?

There are many holy places on this Earth, more so in India for being so ancient in age that were built with the will of God. They all have a purpose of which we are not aware. People go to temples if they have a problem or if they wish for a child or want a lot of  wealth and even power. But God has a different theory in establishing holy places. Many holy places in India were built with specific role to play in our lives. Mostly Shiva temples were made to dissolve the evil karmas or sins of mankind as Shiva is the destroyer. The Shiva Linga is the pyramid in which divine energies keep entering from time to time from the sacred source of God.

When we go in the inner sanctums, the work of purification begins at the holy site. The  bad energy from our bodies and minds are burnt, dissolves and rises up to the shikhar or the dome of the holy structure. From there the burnt energies are disseminated in the atmosphere and erazed. We also absorb some good energies which turn into good thoughts and later into good karmas at some stage in the exchange. Hence we have the potential of doing good things some time in future.

The silent work of God is always on in this manner in the subtle world so as to free us from the negative influences generated by us at some point of time. If this is not done, the Earth will be overloaded with so much negativity that we will not be able to live here. Our materialistic wishes that we believe are fulfilled in the temples occur and materialize only if some pending good karmas in us are due to materialize! But as God is very charitable and generous, He still obligates our desires so that we have faith in God and one day will turn to God and say that I have had enough of your small gifts and toys, now I want You! After this the aim of going to temples and other holy places is for a higher, sometime very high purposes. They are meant for only spiritual obligations and holy intentions.

The divine vibrations emanating at this Shiva temple burnt the looming depression, mental torture and affliction in the astral world where the souls of those dead people are at present residing. They in turn got rid of their sad mental state because the Master and the disciple with the consent of God, carried out some specific deeds that would fulfill those aims- that of mass healing of the collective karmas of those people belonging to our previous generations. Such is the power of the worshipped places which were made by the wish and consent of God!

My dear ones, hope you have now understood the reason for  which the recent pilgrimage was made. I am sure you will be delighted to understand the  theory of the  unknown science behind the rituals of our religion performed at holy places. Behind every religious ritual is a sacred science about which the ancient man had knowledge and today we follow blindly for the sake of material goals!!

The state of Super Consciousness-II. This article is partly on pitra dosha or the ill effects on our current lives caused by the forefathers. It is important to remove the unknown negative effects and thus hastening our spiritual progress in a seeker’s life.

So what should we do? Remember God. Recall God. By remembering God the mind becomes pure.

How? The mind is a spark of God or Parmatma  in us. It is covered  with unseen  darkness and ambiguity which comes from the absence of knowledge of God’s presence in us. In fact, every living being in this Universe has a spark of God embedded in it. We do not know this yet.

When we remember God with pure devotion with or without any spiritual technique, the spark in us gets connected with the limitless white Light of the Omnipresence Power and we begin to see things in the right Light as it should be. By doing so, we are at peace and in calmness. Karmas or deeds originating from such a state of Consciousness lead us to do noble acts which are in favour of all. As the soul is devoid of any negative qualities and full of compassion and selfless love, the fruits of such acts are abundantly rewarded as per the laws of the Universal Spirit. The soul experiences freedom, unalloyed joy and no slavery of any type. Good actions bring with them true happiness, ananda and unexplored and limitless love from God to us!! This is liberation or Moksha in real sense!

Evidence

Our soul is omnipresent. It is connected with other souls in the Universe by our mind, which is a streak of God.

When I was heading towards Kanya Kumari from Madurai on 28.12.12 afternoon, on a highway I caught a fleeting sight which grabbed my attention. For the first time I saw a Banyan Tree without any obstructions covering it in a vast agriculture field. I have been in search for a clear photo of a Banyan tree for a very long time for  future reference for the purpose of using it in a book when the blog will be published.

Nobody knew about  this undisclosed thought. So when we were returning to Madurai on 29.12.12 morning, I requested the driver to stop at the same place where I had spotted this catchy tree. The driver slowed down the car in anticipation for it to be visible quite early to avoid missing it. As we slowed down, I heard my soul’s voice in between the search activity. It told me that Shri Mahavatar Babaji knew it for a long time that  I have been persistently searching and finding a Banyan tree which would be totally free from any other structure or other trees overcasting it.   I wanted to take its pictures. Shri Babaji informed the soul of this tree well in advance that I would be coming to Kanya Kumari one day and that  I should be given its pictures for my future needs.

The Banyan Tree told me  that similarly he too was waiting for me to arrive at that spot  and it was his privilege to serve Shri Mahavatar Babaji. His was a soul of a rishi or sage who wanted to serve God and mankind by becoming a Banyan Tree which is blessed with longevity. The more the duration of its life span, the longer it would be able to serve God. I believed in him because Shri Mahavatar Babaji is very capable of working on the Super Consciousness level through his mind power and this time I was not at all surprised. Rather, I quickly got down from the car, walked in the field half way and took some good shots of my favourite Banyan Tree for my blog and blog-book in spite of limited time available.

I end this post at this blessed and sacred moment by dedicating it to this phenomenal Banyan Tree whose soul is so kind and gracious and has been serving Mother Earth and God anonymously for more than 200 years. My humble prostrations to Shri Mahavatar Babaji and the Banyan Tree for its co-operation and also imparting us such useful insights of  unseen and unknown deeper realms of our Universe.

Excerpts from a Fb post of 20.05.20 given below. The is Maharishi Loma.

(1)

You will dazzle the world with your unique write-ups based on unknown Seers of ancient times like me and others who have shunned the world because there is infinite inner peace.

Your mind is impeccable, your stability incredible, focus steely, honesty brutal, compassion infinite, search for knowledge incalculable, energy inexhaustible, love for God unheard.

Therefore, God chose you as our messenger in modern times to revive the foremost spiritual path of God Realization made for man by God named ‘Jyoti Marg’, the Path of God’s Light.

You will be remembered in the world as a woman who crossed all boundaries of worldly, physical, emotional, mental and spiritual frontiers to reach out the furthest residing Sages.

You have earned the blessings of all the primitive, long forgotten Sages who lived in India and did intense penance to find God in pursuit of Self Realization of the highest order.

You must tell the world about us, about our lives, our penance, our fortes, our hard-found knowledge of God’s hidden laws and great performances.

I bless you my dear child for doing the penance in this wicked world and sacrificing everything that you have to spread our words of ancient, untainted wisdom for deserving people.”

Thanjavur, panoroma of Brihadeeshwar temple…….

#150

When I went to Pondicherry, God also fulfilled my wish to go to Thanjavur. I had wanted to go earlier and tried also but there was no right opportunity that came my way. This time, I had included it in my circuit and we started early in the day on 17.12.12 so that we could return around dusk.

My experience at Thanjuvar Shiva temple was far more than I had ever imagined. The temple’s grandeour was unbelievable. It stands unparalleled  in size and splendour and is visible from any side of Thanjuvar. And the mere size of the temple astonished me. The courtyard has sprawling open space and the wide sky is so clearly visible from all sides. We stand on the earth and we are in direct contact with the sky, there is nothing in between. The parapet has small bulls representing  Nandi,  all facing the same directions and look very pretty, although many are now falling unfortunately.

How could the people of India build such collosal temples without machines one thousand years ago?  Their engineering skills and knowledge of geometry must have been examplary or else how can we build such magnificent religious structures with the most basic tools? And unlike other temples, this one stands out because it is made of hard granite to avoid  fast deterioration and hence the king’s idea was to preserve it as long as it is possible for many generations.

The magnificent temple of Brihadeeshwar was made by the Chola king Raja Raja Chola. He wanted to build such a temple that was never built before by anyone. He had a vision in a dream of its inception and he invited the temple experts to design a temple that would have the tallest tower, almost touching the sky!!

And so Brihadeeshwar temple has the tallest  temple tower in the world. The kalash or the top bulbous structure is carved out of a single stone. Even the Nandi bull sitting in front of the Shiva temple is cut out of a single black stone. The entire temple is made of yellow granite. It rests on the bank of a river and has a moat and fortified walls around it. It is believed that the fortified walls were made by the later kings to ward off enemies.

The main temple houses a very large Shiv Lingam in the inner sanctum and the ceilings have rare paintings or frescoes of Shiva and Parvati, possibly from Shiva Purana. This one thousand old monument is still standing tall and is the main attraction of Thanjuvar.

This much for the back ground of the temple. However, there had to be a larger cause to visit this extraordinary place, one of the oldest Shiva temples in India. Shri Mahavatar Babaji tells me that as a special gesture and out of kindheartedness towards his devotee, he sent me to this holy place so that the sins of our lineage would be cleansed and peace would return to some of  our forefathers who are in a turmoil even now in some other world because of their past misgivings…..I am speechless at the volume and intensity of graciousness showered at us by the holiest and most sacred Guru, Shri Babaji. May God give all of us peace and more lasting peace, where ever we are…….!!

Pondicherry revisited….. photo gallery

#149

Pondicherry, a place of awakening and rising

Dear ones, Pondicherry is an ancient place in South India where the sages and ascetics have done penance, meditated, done research on metaphysical topics and the rishis had their gurukuls or spiritual schools. On such a kind of place, with the divine will was the Aurobindo Ashram made by Shri Aurobindo and The Mother. The Ashram, it is popularly called, is a place of Force to reckon with. Immense peace pervades this place. Seekers who are stuck with obstructions or require more force to push their way up in their spiritual journey should make the effort to visit the samadhi of Shri Aurobindo and the Mother to seek their blessings for success. They will be assisted with love and compassion. Positive difference in one’s level is fast to see and will be very much appreciated by them.

I took a break from my work and visited Pondicherry with a friend of mine with these intentions between 13th and 18th of Deccember’12. There was no plan of showcasing many photos in this segment, but the people’s thoughts have reached the Omnipresent Universal Mind of Shri Mahavatar Babaji. It is the wish of many devotees that they see the place visually on the net since many can’t go there, it is quite far and in one corner of South India. Keeping the wishes of all of you who have interest in their spiritual development, I have weaved a theme around my pictures and you can also read my thoughts which were behind my mind while I took them. They all tell a story, a story of human evolution…..of awakening, of our blooming and rising.

The awakening….

The last picture also has a story to tell. It has a white plain building where out of concrete structure, a red hibuscus flower dares to face the Sun and smile at it beautifully!! It pushes as though, all the obstructions trying to stop it and it rises up to tower its presence and look directly at the bright Sun.

I took that picture after the sunrise while we were strolling on the pavement of a promenade. There is more symbolism in this  picture as I perceive. The red blooming  flower shouted for my attention and said, ” Look at my background, it is all white and I am red in color. In Pondicherry in the ashram, the samadhi of The Mother beams dynamic Force for which I represent here. The red colour is for Shakti or Force. And Shri Aurobindo’s samadhi beams immense peace and tranquility. My white background portrays that. So Pondicherry is a centre of Force and Peace…..

IMG_0554

I thought it would be a nice idea to share a few inspiring lines from ‘The Prophet’ Khalil Gibran where according to me, Love spoken here is about the penance of the seeker and the reward is the Love of God in return……

‘Then said Almitra, Speak to us of Love.

And he raised his head and looked upon the people, and there fell a stillness upon them. And with a great voice he said:

When love beckons to you, follow him,

Though his ways are hard and steep.

And when his wings enfold you yield to him,

Though the sword hidden among his pinions may wound you.

And when he speaks to you believe in him

Though his voice may shatter your dreams as the north wind lays waste the garden.

For even as love crowns you so shall he crucify you.

Even as he is for your growth so is he for your pruning.

Even as he ascends to your height and caresses your tenderest branches that quiver in the sun,

So shall he descend to your roots and shake them in their clinging to the earth.

Like sheaves of corn he gathers you unto himself.

He thrashes you to make you naked.

He sifts you to free you from your husks.

He grinds you to whiteness.

He kneads you until you are pliant:

And then he assigns you to his sacred fire, that you may become sacred bread for God’s sacred feast.’

Much love

Sarika

Why is it important to know our soul?-I

#148

Part-I

The series of ‘Who are you?’ posts was wrapped up beautifully and the results rewarding. In the process  of its completion which lasted for more than three weeks, I too have been floating in benign sublime thoughts because it pertained to issues such as our beautiful Divine Soul.

The theme of this new segment is about our Soul and how to find it; it is critical. We began with who we are in this new segment and it will gradually lead us to how to find our soul. However, in between these two themes, we take a halt and will focus on an important issue-Why is it important to know our soul?

The next subject matter of why it is so  important to know our soul is a very gentle one. This will demand our sensitivity to understand the sublime ideas and require enough mental strength to hold on to those sublime thoughts long enough.  And by doing so when we are successful in these attempts, it will enable us to catch hold of the unseen, our secret Self, our own Soul.

About two weeks ago, when I returned from Pondicherry, I randomly turned the leaves and  read a few beautiful lines from the epic Savitri by Sri Aurobindo. It is Sri Aurobindo’s major literary work inspired by a narrative in Mahabharat. It is based on the mythological story of Savitri and Satyavan where Savitri brings back her dead husband from the clutches of Yama, the lord of death in a forest. The return of Satyavan to life  was possible only because of her austerity, nobility, penance, purity, devotion and strength of character.

Through the story as a backdrop, the poet conveys how the soul degenerates and falls because of covering of the Supreme Truth. The degeneration is caused because of darkness produced by ignorance. But with the arrival of Supreme knowledge, the darkness disintegrates slowly progressively and the Soul ascends towards the bright Sun or the Truth of God.

Quoting just two lines for you as each word is enough to convey the theme.

The Absolute, the Perfect, the Immune,

One who is in us as our secret Self-the Absolute .

Part-B

Dear friends, I leave this post at this point only to finish it in the next one as I have just returned home a few hours ago. I visited a place that is connected to Shri Mahavatar Babaji’s spiritual life called Palani in Tamil Nadu near Madurai. It is the resting place or samadhi of Shri Boganathar. The mountain top in Palani has a big temple of Murugan Swami as well in the same place. Shri Boganathar was the disciple of Swami Murugan and he has installed the idol of Swami Murugan there and had worshipped him. Shri Mahavatar Babaji took deeksha from these two great spiritual luminaries during his early years. I meditated for only a short while in the cave of Shri Boganathar since there was a big population visiting the temple from neighbouring states.

I have visited Kanya Kumari as well, it is one of the char dhams or places of liberation and mukti of India. Kanya Kumari has an ancient rock temple of Goddess Parvati as a young girl or kanya called the Kanyakumari temple. I visited the Vivekananda Memorial Rock and the nearby rock where Goddess Parvati did penance  to get Yogeshwar, the Lord of Yoga, Lord Shiva as her husband- oh my God! what a dynamic place  this is in spite of  countless visitors thronging everyday!!!

I am unable to write more than this today, nonetheless  I would like to  share with you some pictures of Kanya Kumari only. Photography was prohibited in Palani and other temples. I can show the full moon- light pictures of Kanya Kumari and hazy sunrise as well as Swami Vivekananda’s Rock Memorial too- please enjoy them, they were mesmerizing moments! We woke up very early to catch the phenomenon of the rising Sun in the Indian Ocean.

Silvery waters, dancing boats and effulgent rays of the moon falling on the singing sea- surely a very mystic night.

Significance about Kanya Kumari temple and Vivekananda Memorial Rock.

My tryst with Maharishi Markandey-I

The Sage came closer and invited me with a gesture.  I took his hand and we both instantly reached a bed of a very, very quiet, rather soundless ocean. In the water bubbles were erupting from below the many big rocks and boulders. Inside the water, I saw an opening which resembled the mouth of a cave. Indeed, it was a cave and the next moment I saw this Sage sitting in deep Samadhi unaware of anything around him. His eyes were closed and his contour was made of pure, white Light and his countenance was radiating unseen peacefulness. I went on looking at the towering figure first then his very serene face and found his presence extremely captivating.

I was quick to understand that it was an encounter with an advanced Sage but beyond that my capacity to understand lapsed.

He only told me, “I come here to meditate, this is a cave under an ocean.”

It is the same place, Kanya Kumari at Indian Ocean.

Who are you?-III

#147

Thank you dear friends, for the warmth, love and confidence that you have exuded through your comments and mails after the last post was out. Subsequently, after receiving your responses, one is likely to understand that you are now being prepared for the next step in your journey.

IMG_0381

Some of you are already showing signs of sparks and brilliance while others are on the threshold of spiritual awakening. Whatever the case may be, I am certain that most of you are progressing fast on the path that you have chosen with the constant grace, supervision and assistance of our beloved holy Param Guru Shri Mahavatar Babaji and others. Our weblog Spiritinlife is now  a garden of holy companionship, mutual support and sharing intense knowledge. The beautiful flowers are blossoming here. My sincere prayers to the Almighty God to help us all in our future endeavours and efforts in order to achieve what we had set out to do- to know who we are; to know our souls.

I have just returned from a short pilgrimage to South India and I am still reeling under the dizzying impacts of the Divine Forces present in those sites. After a considerable gap of more than four years, I visited Mahavatar Babaji’s birthplace in Parangipettai and Shri Aurobindo Ashram, Pondicherry.  They both are situated close to each other. My purpose was to revive myself and renew my enthusiasm for further higher spiritual developments. We would be really fortunate to be visiting these places because one does not have to try hard as the huge Forces emanating from these two sites do their work on us automatically. A massive work is done on us when the inertia that we accumulate over the time is driven out by the Divine Forces of these places.

IMG_0648

Not much is known about Babaji’s birthplace and it is so cut off from the world. It is in a very small, obscure village in Tamil Nadu on the sea side. Nevertheless, Parangipettai is very close to my heart! I like to visit it whenever I can. I visualize how Babaji must have lived here as a child and how he must have greatly influenced others even at that tender age before he renounced the world.

Babaji’s birthplace is so simple, minimal and devoid of any decorations yet the very powerful spiritual radiations that are still beaming out brilliantly is something one has to experience himself to believe this. The power of Ichcha Shakti or will is very prominent there.

IMG_0599

(A yantra, a geometrical grid is made on the spot where Shri Mahavatar Babaji was born)

Even if we go there many times, it takes quite a long time for somebody to do acute in-depth analysis and thus draw the conclusion regarding the similarities that I always notice between God and Babaji’s birthplace. I each time have a feeling when I visit this place that Babaji’s birthplace is so humble and simple just like him. As I was meditating there in the very calm environment, I really thought seriously  that  Babaji asks nothing from us, he says nothing  to us, does not demand anything, he is so calm and quiet and yet he is so, so influential. His divine energies are influencing the whole of world ever since he was born almost two thousand years ago!

IMG_0614

Likewise, God is also so reclusive, so away from the madness of this world yet it is all powerful, controlling this entire Universe. God is also never exhibiting any signs of being ostentatious.

They both are concealed and hidden away from the vision of the world; silent and hushed, yet powerful, very powerful. God is so wonderful, so simple, so powerful and without any outer adornments and any propaganda. The silent energies should be felt by us if we can visit that place and  more commonalities will emerge if one concentrates on that holy place.

These thoughts inspire me a lot every time I visit the birth place and I begin to get these ideas that we should also aspire to be like God and the birthplace of Babaji- so lovely, so quiet, so powerful, so great, yet shying away from the world and never craving for any propaganda to prove their worth to the world! They are quiet, peaceful, reclusive, resourceful, and yet very great.

Also these are divine traits, our Soul qualities and must be acquired to make our lives simple, happy and modest, great and noble…..

These were my reflections at that holy spot.

Conclusion- These three posts on ‘Who are you?’ should prove to be  very beneficial for all the seekers whether they are already practicing their sadhana or if they have just begun. After recognizing that we are a Soul and not a perishable body, we should pursue our goal of experiencing it and should follow these three D’s in our everyday lives to reach our ultimate goal of God realization.

A. Determination

Seek with determination. What you wish to know and realize, seek with determination. Do whatever is required to know God, but do not give up your goal of Self-Realization. The influence of Maya will dissuade you from the desired goal, but do not give up your resolve. Only those who are determined in life till the end achieve great things in life.

B. Discipline

The great mission of awakening and illumination requires two types of discipline. They are physical discipline and mental discipline. To achieve something phenomenal, one should aspire to have a great body and a great mind.

A fit and healthy body is a must to pursue the noble cause of awakening and living a divine life. The senses can be controlled with ease if the body is disciplined daily through various forms of health disciplines and exercises. A disciplined body will be in control of the seeker and thus make his triumphs easy to achieve.

The senses likewise, should be trained in such a way that the yogi should not suffer because of their senseless actions and undertakings. Mental sadhana  is controlling of senses and mind.

If you wish to know yourself, go within, touch your inner silent depths, remain quiet mentally, maintain silence for sometime in the day, meditate deeply and remain in the God given bliss……

C. Daily prayers and meditations

Daily prayers and meditation will help you to go within. They are the tools of God contact. A peaceful mind is able to have a longer duration of God communion, while a shallow and agitated mind will remain on the surface only. A few verses or shlokas  from the holy scripture reinforces these thoughts once again.

In Bhagwat Geeta, Arjuna faces a similar dilemma when he tells Lord Krishna in chapter 6 verses 34 and 35.

Chanchalam hi mana Krishna pramathi balvadhadham I

Tasyaham nighraham manye vayoriv sudushkaram II

For Krishna, the mind is very unsteady, turbulent, tenacious and powerful; therefore I consider it as difficult to control as the wind.

Shri Bhagwanuvach

Asanshayam mahabaho mano durnighrham chalam I

Abhyasen tu kaunteya vairagyen ch grihate II

Shri Bhagwan said: The mind is restless no doubt and difficult to curb, Arjuna; but it can be brought under control by repeated practice of meditation and by the exercise of dispassion, O son of Kunti.

IMG_0499

Modesty, humility and simplicity are the qualities of the Soul, inculcate them. Invoke God with love and simplicity. Meditate daily with all your devotion and consecrate your whole being in moments of prayers and meditations…….

Hari Om Tatsat, Hari Om Tatsat, Hari Om Tatsat!

Who are you?-II

#146

Welcome back dear friends,.  If you remember  on 30th Nov,  Shri Mahavatar Babaji had asked us many questions which are reflecting  in the last post Who are you?-I. I suggest it will be good for us if you go back to the previous post to recall what the main theme was in case you can’t get it right away. In any case, it is advised that once you read this post and absorb it well, some time later you should read both posts in line so that there is a continuity in thought and we can hold the philosphy of Vedas firmly in our minds.

We continue from there and will try to bridge the following text with the significance  of previous questions.  Hope you must have contemplated on those grave issues during this period. I agree the questions were tough and getting their complete answers tougher. Many must have abandoned those questions in their minds in the first place because of ambiguity about this deep philosphy. And some may have attempted but may have not been able to crack and untangle the hard questions if they are already familiar with this knowledge.

One blog reader showed interest in self enquiry and had commented on previous post that he has probed within himself to know who he was and what was his purpose here. Yet he was not able to know about himself. My reply was that his query could be the question of a few other good seekers at  present or in future and therefore the reply would come as a new post instead as a reply to his comment. Indeed every sincere thinker, philospher and spiritualist has arrived at a certain stage sometime during his/her journey when these questions boggle him/her. I have tried to satisfy those baffling questions as I too had similar inquiry after I read the story of Nachiketa in Kathopanishada. It was in 1999, that I had got very fascinated by Upanishadas when Nachiketa’s story came up in Swami Viviekananda’s book pertaining to Oriental knowledge. After reading Swami Vivekananda’s reference, I read the summaries of a few Upanishadas by a local author and it was later when I read Yoga Vashishitha again in 1999 that I spent hours trying to analyse my personality and identity with self-examination in afternoons.

This subject is vast, deep and very vital. Yet I am attempting it as it is the wish of God. I  have also tried to make a prècis of what was given to me by my Great Master two days ago. The reason why they are concise is because the posts here are not for our intellectualizing attempts but rather for just self enquiry. So after reading  the post, go over it a few more times, think about it and if there is anything that needs clarification and elaboration, we shall discuss it in this forum. Everybody is welcome to express themselves freely. There can be some shortcomings in describing this post  from  my side because it is a difficult and very subtle  topic. If something is missed out or not discussed in detail, we will carry it forward in the next post.

Please know that the posts that are coming up at this time are going to have minimal embellishments. The Great Master will create  his magic by his mere words!! Master in his elements again is unstoppable and will seek our attention with this high philosphy meant to release souls from their long, long slavery from mental and physical confinements! So meditate and release yourself from the suffering that you have encountered over the years.

The next posts will be brief, grave, investigative and ruminative in nature. So get prepared for more of thinking and side by side many new things will unfold in you automatically.  I anticipate many new horizons  being  touched and many  new insights will be arrived at after groping and speculation by you. Deep learning comes only with churning and thinking.

Unlike earlier posts, the new posts will be instructive in nature and will have some steps to follow apart from self enquiry and investigation within. Therefore,  bring your focus on yourself once again and get started.  Should we start please?  We need some preparation before we read the prepared text. We need to do this…….Relax…. Get light.

Take a few deep breaths and fill your mind with some fresh air.

Please calm your mind completely, relax your body by loosening it. The more you relax, the lighter you shall be. And if you are completely calm by now; if your mind dissolves wholly and becomes one with the void sky, then you have to listen to this. Once you have become as light as the sky akashvat, only then you should start listening to what I have to say.

Today introduce yourself to your own self! Know yourself very well today.

And before we begin our enquiry, we should  be taking the blessings of His Holiness Shri Mahavatar Babaji.  And by touching the holy feet of all the other blessed saints, sages and holy souls, we will begin a new chapter and a new lesson whose title will be, who am I?

So here we begin…..

When the cool and light breeze caresses your face, have you ever asked yourself, who likes it? Is it your skin or your mind?

It is your mana or mind.

So are you the mind?

You are able to observe your mind when you are unhappy or unsettled. This means that the mind has no power of itself; there is some other power above it that can watch it. Who is the observer of this duality of joy and grief?  Who is it?  Know that.

You are not this body; it is perishable. The body is composed of five elements*and is acquired as per our destiny. Therefore do not love your body more than you should or else your mind will also become inert. The body is inert and the mind conscious; but then you are unaware of the controlling power that rules both- the body and the mind. What is the controlling power?

Your physical body has five senses**, five karma-indriyas** * or the organs of actions and also five gyan indriyas**** or the senses of knowledge.  You are not the senses or the sense organs.

The food that you intake also has five elements that are present in the Universe-water, earth, space, fire and air. Because  the physical body is made up of food, the five elements are also present in your body because of the food that you eat. Obviously you are not the five elements.

So after knowing all this, you must have by now understood that you are the seer and non-doer of these five elements. All the five elements on their own work outside and inside you. Our job is to balance these elements which are inside our body and outside in the Universe by eating right foods and striking a balance by leading a regulated life.

Therefore your mana or mind is above the five elements, five senses and five sense organs.

The intelligence in humans help them to decide, judge or reason. So many times, the intelligence in humans fails or lacks full strength because it is covered by his ego, lust or desire.

But there is a force that governs the intelligence and illumines us. Which force is that? With which force does man’s vast intelligence gets sharper and brighter? Reflect on this.

Are you the ego? No, surely not. Then what are you?

The mind is a fragment or a part of God’s Light which is present in humans and other living beings.

Ripples are formed in the mind; from ripples are born currents or waves and with  those currents, thoughts are formed. Thoughts make up the mind.

The mind does not possess the power to control itself. In the beginning, it needs the power of the Guru and the power of God to stop its senseless running and rampaging. When for a very long duration, the mind’s consciousness goes on aligning and fraternizing with the divine consciousness, it then forsakes its old nature and become one with the Almighty Universal God. Example-when the iron rod is thrown in the hot furnace, it melts completely and becomes one with fire. In the end there is only fire and no iron as it melts fully.

The aim and purpose of Yoga becomes to calm and liquefy the mind. This goes to prove that you are not the mind but you possess the mind. If you possess the mind and are not the mind then who are you?

You are bright Light. You are everlasting ananda, joy. You are the utmost peace. You are an indestructible element. You are the ever present power which the Vedas have called Atma. You are that. Only remove the dust that covers your mind over many lives. You are that blazing Light which permeates everywhere but is silent. The calm and silent Force that governs the universe is present inside you. All we have to do is to acquire that…..

 Glossary

*Five elements -water, earth, fire, sky and space

**Five senses – *** speech, smell, taste, sight, hearing and touch

***Karma-indriyas– hands, legs, mouth or tongue and the organs of reproduction and excretion

****Gyan- indriyas or sense organs– eyes, ears, nose, tongue and skin

A note-

As I have been engaged in the last two days with the formation of this enlightening post, a beautiful chant has been playing non stop at the back of my mind on its own. It is Chidananda rupah, Shivoham Shivoham…. by Adi Shankaracharya. When I  first accidently heard this soulful rendition  by Purushottam Jalota in 1984 or so, I liked it immensely. The voice  of the singer made a deep impact and much, much deeper impact was made by the words of those verses.  It has never me left me ever since; it is so powerful. What Shri Mahavatar Babaji has taught us in a precise form today has been described at length by Adi Shankaracharya in Shivoham Chant called Atma Shatakam or Nirvana Shatakam.  The great Adi Shankaracharya of eighth century summarized the Advaita philosphy in six stanzas. When he was wandering in the Himalayas as a boy of only eight years in search of a guru, he encountered a wise sage who asked him, “Who are you?”. The young boy answered in those six stanzas which are called Atma Shatakam or Nirvana Shatakama. The sage was Swami Govindapada Acharya.

In his introduction, Adi Shankaracharya repeatedly says that he is eternal non- dying Consciousness which is bliss and not mind, body or senses. He is not even the five elements or five sheaths of bodies or five types of air that are present in one’s body. He is not even the five vices.  Neither will he  ever die as he was never born. He is Chidananda, he is bliss,  he is  mere pure Consciousness, pure Consciousness……..

This post is dedicted to Adi Shankaracharya from my side and I seek his blessings for all of us so that who ever reads this post is helped by him in pursuing self enquiry leading to self realization. I can mentally visualize his  grace and kindness helping us in our tough endeavours; so compassionate are the realized Masters.

An after thought

I just heard the shlokas of Chidananda rupah again just now. It was so calming and soothing. I travelled back in my past and began to cry out of gratitude. How far Babaji has got me! Today I understand these words and can identify with them, earlier they were just very close to my heart and I only dreamt of understanding them; if only I could understand them one day I thought…..As I heard the soulful words, I prayed to Babaji to kindly hide me and  instead he should come in front in the world because I am too small and young in soul in comparison to him. He is the best person to give us Advait knowledge. Why did he ask me to even attempt what Adi Shankaracharya has said at the age of eight? Imagine how aplogetic I feel when in the presence of these spiritual giants, Mahavatar Babaji asks me to write on who are you? Imagine who am I to write about Atma or Parmatma? How can we ever describe God in words? Or for that matter a state of Divine Consciousness of a very highly realized Guru or Jagadguru? These tears are my flowers of devotion, my offering for my Holy Shri Mahavatar Babaji, who was even Adi Shankaracharya’s master in the Himalayas.  I offer my  flowers of devotion along with all these words at his most sacred feet, my most humble Jagadguru, Jagat pita with all the gratitude that I have…….

Om shanti, shanti, shanti, Om.

Who are you?-I

#145

What could be a better day than this to blog free spiritedly? Though this is the last entry for the month of November and soon the year will end with three more entries, yet I wish that all of you must not overlook this date-30th Nov. This was the day when Shri Mahavatar Babaji was born more than one thousand eight hundred years ago in Parangipettai, Tamil Nadu. It is an auspiscious day today for the reason that it is the birth anniversary of Swami Shri Nityananda of Ganeshpuri also. I get a feeling just now that this is an auspicious time of the day and I must speak to everyone right now.

Since I could not take out time earlier to compose the new post, this one is impromptu and unpremeditated; words are just flowing out of me as I remember these two great saints of India. The very fact that in spite of sleeping quite late last night, I woke up in the morning at 5.45 am sharp as fresh as a morning dew drop on a grass blade, I knew that today is going to be a day full of tranquillity, auspiciousness and  laden with blessedness. Seeking their blessings and offering my purest gratitude, I begin to speak to you with my words on this blog.

I can right now apprehend Shri Mahavatarji’s blessed figure in front of me so full of love and sacredness. He can be seen right now with his gentle arms unfolded and stretched outwardly like a divine father to embrace all of us although we have committed some transgressions and misconducts earlier. Yet today he has forgiven us and wishes that we should make a new beginning, a fresh start with an attitude of humility, thoughtfulness and an offering. We should offer ourselves, our whole selves at his feet and seek his guidance to make a fresh start. We should be bold enough to etch out a new life for ourselves by walking on that new path. I take a pledge at this moment to rededicate myself by offering my whole life, my whole being by prostrating down in his refuge absolutely with all my love, gratitude and humbleness.

He asks us a few questions which we must listen carefully and address them with attention, “Who  are you? What for have you come in this world? What are your goals? What do you want to become? How will you achieve those goals? Who is your guidance?

This life is not for amassing and accumulating tons of gold and other wealth. This life is not for fulfilling your earthly desires. This life is not for fulfilling your pride and satisfying small, irrelevant goals. This life is not given to us for settling scores of many past lives either. Neither is this life meant for pursing conflicts and battles and waging wars on others. We just have to sit calmly in our homes with lot of fresh air and open sky and abundant light to realise that we have come on this Earth with a much, much bigger purpose and meaningful missions. We have come here to know ourselves. We should be able to go deep down inside with the help of regular satsangas, holy company and holy talk and meditation. Contemplation is the outcome of meditation. Wisdom comes with contemplation and practise of yoga of meditation.”

He has requested all of you to henceforth ask questions with plentiful humility and unpretentiousness and seek your answers here. The foremost quality of a seeker is humility after which comes gratitude. Those who are not humble cannot win the heart of the Guru. From Guru comes gyan or wisdom. Wisdom will liberate you……Om shanti, shanti, shanti Om……

A foreword before we take a new turn into our future spiritual training on this website…

#144

Part A

All my dear  readers, hope you had a good festival time with your family and friends and are by now well settled in your normal day life. My overdue warm greetings, good luck and good wishes to each one of you. I did not wish anyone personally because this time I preferred to celebrate Diwali by spending a lot of time in teaching my daughter, who was lagging behind because of time crunch as she was working in the office overtime since many days. Nonetheless, it was managed quite well and I foresee that whenever she cannot devote enough time in her spiritual pursuits, she will catch up from time to time. No matter what we are pursuing in our lives at this moment, it is imperative that we should also devote sufficient time in our spiritual development side by side so that we lead a holistic, wholesome, pure and joyous life.

It has been a long journey since the inception of Spiritinlife weblog in May’2008. This blog was basically intended to please my daughter and was a birthday gift and it was intended to last for a year only. But then, it has continued and subsisted only because it had the blessings of all my holy Masters. The first year was naive and suave as I was grappling with my own reservations about susceptibility to opinions of people about my spiritual experiences, more so from various spiritual organizations and other known establishments. To my pleasant surprise, none of those uncertainties came to be true. Whatever I wrote was straight from my heart and I think that touched and built the cord between me and the readers.

Blogging in second year, helped me to shatter my doubts and hesitations and scratched open my hidden mine of exceptional spiritual experiences known only to my family. I found my feet firm by now and I saw that I had the innate ability to write and pursue my dream of expressing my thoughts pretty well. My personal experiences of my struggle to break my own limitations gave me enough substance to publish one post in every ten days. While I was sharing my past travels and personal experiences, I also realized that I was indeed a blessed soul as I was able to break through my mental hindrances and blockages. So I began to try harder than before without knowing what would become of all this at the end of it. It also helped me to understand the importance of making efforts from the seeker’s end and I obeyed every small instruction or command given to me in my meditations by my Gurus. The instructions have come also while I was sleeping or awake or in the middle of something crucial. But each word was sacred, every line my holy mantra and each command God’s will.  I have only uttered, “Theek hai ji”  “Fine, it shall be done.”

Third year brought me so much closer to my Param guru Shri Mahavatar Babaji,  who was so kind enough to let me peep into his personal life, early childhood, his feelings and reactions on behaviour meted out by his people and how he perceived the world with his own eyes and insight. My favourite posts are the ones which are related to our Consciousness and Shri Babaji’s biography Expand your consciousness-II. And they have all come without my demanding, as sheer grace!

By the time fourth year ended, I was a confident writer and an experienced extra sensory preceptor. Travelling far and wide in India opened my eyes to not only my own past lives but also what modern India is and the sensibilities of the people living in those places . And at the peak, after I visited Badrinath area the third time in a gap of five months between May and  September 2012, I grew into a new person as I found a new light on my spiritual heights. I reached the pinnacle of incessant holy experiences given to me as a grace from God and my own Guru Shri Mahavatar Babaji and I understood the true meaning of self-surrender and grace of God in spite of unfavourable external conditions meted out to me. You must have read those posts where I have described in detail about all this in posts which have the word Badrinath as one of the words in the title…..My last posts ‘New Light, New Life‘ and  ‘I get a new life, a new light in Badrinath-I, II & III’ are a testimony to what I have just stated.

These four plus years are a canvas on which a whole spiritual journey of a yogi or an aspirant has been etched out. It portrays the struggles, questions, answers, insights, relationship of a teacher disciple, their love and aspirations, the hard toil of the guru on his/her devotee and finally the culmination of all the sweat and grind on both the sides. About a year back or so, on one sunny morning, Shri Babaji commented to me, “Tujhe banate banate mera dum nikal gaya” which means that it has taken a toll on me while I have been making you. You can now get an idea as to how much hard work and persistence goes in the making of a perfect disciple and the bearing of its fruits; of all the penance and spiritual practices undertaken by the seeker and the constant, untiring supervision and guidance of the Spiritual Master, all included.

Until now this blog was projecting the journey of a seeker in her pursuit of direct communion with God. It reflects her frustration with her failures in loving this world as it is and yet finding a meaning to her existence, a purpose to live her life meaningfully and to find the Master Planner, the executer of this whole Universe one day.  Her own struggles to balance her outer life with inner divine life and to bring all three useful effects into her daily life-gyan, bhakti and karma– spiritual knowledge, devotion for God and love for all others and having the judgement to choose and pick the right actions have created some very original, matter of fact and useful write-ups which will help thousands of other aspirants in future. And this was the main aim of Shri Babaji in helping me to choose the right topics and their substance so that he could tell the world one day that yes it is possible- it is possible for you and several others to achieve great success in your own spiritual pursuits.

A brand new path has been chalked out through Spiritinlife, the clean path has no adulterations and if you are ready to walk on this path, you shall succeed. Provided, Shri Mahavatar Babaji says that-

  • You are always obedient towards him and your mentor.
  • You will keep your mind in control by practising yoga of meditation or dhyan yoga daily without fail for a very long period of time
  • Have enough patience till you see positive results
  • A part of your income to be shared and given for suitable charitable causes
  • Occasional mental and physical isolation to facilitate and retain new learnings. Spiritual tours to pilgrimages required to boost the positive energies

Today’s sadhana according to Babaji, is something that can be done at home but we need to give ourselves in whatever ways to restore the environment that has been deteriorating at a very rapid pace in modern times. We have to add to our sadhana, which we will be doing at home,  the seva or serving the Mother Earth. This is new age sadhana as per his vision and if we care to follow this ideology, then we should get very quick results in our endeavours.

A foundation will be made in future which will have the name Nav Jeevan Jyoti Foundation, NJJF. It means New life New light Foundation. This word has been coined by Babaji himself because through this blog and its Foundation, he wishes to communicate with his millions of followers and well-wishers. He wishes to spread spiritual light and wisdom and give new life to this planet by involving as many people as possible with the help of these two mediums. There would be mainly five objectives of NJJF-

  • To spread awareness about the grave necessity of restoration of our Earth planet
  • To spread divine knowledge in India and far off lands
  • To dispense ancient spiritual wisdom through modern tools and technology through internet to cover as many people as possible in the world.
  • To involve people’s participation in greening the Earth
  • To preserve the Himalayan Mountains and the rivers; more so the sacred place where Mahavatar Babaji lives near Badrinath. The recent spate and trend of landslides and flash floods in the Himalayas in the month of August and September are an indication that all is not well in that environment. And to enable and allow Babaji to live in his cave in Satopanth and other winter abode, that environment should be protected. In future, tie ups with other working agencies and NGO’s in the mountains shall be welcomed and solicited in this regard. It is indeed a mammoth task and mission.

Dear readers, Spiritinlife blog is now taking a new turn for the suitability of all its readers at this stage. So far, it was the story of one aspirant who was seeking alone randomly without any obvious and visible help yet did not give up until she got what she had set out to become. And this is an assurance to all future seekers who arrive here, either through their tryst of destinies or are suggested by others that please have patience, endure and you shall succeed. From this point onwards, the posts are going to be directed towards you and not me. Hence the next topic would be “Who are you?” and not ‘Who are we? So please keep that in mind and begin a new journey, a journey that has just begun for you. It is Babaji’s mission to enlighten as many people as possible and this blog has begun a world wide open school with headquarters in Badrinath and a regional school in Mumbai!! You can reach out to me at spiritinlife@gmail.com and also write your comments right here on the blog. Those desirous of having a first class degree need to put in extra time and hours. Those who wish to postpone their plans, can do it at their own snail pace and those who have thought or are thinking that they can do it alone because they do not need the help of a mentor or even a Guru, are welcome to have their opinions intact. But they will not be assured of any grace or tutelage if they are stubborn and not obeying the instructions, sometimes given so repeatedly and  not respected at all. We all have come here out of our own will and we shall reach wherever we can because of our own understanding, devotion and efforts because God and Guru are very fair and unbiased. It is our sole discretion and choice! So walk on everybody with a fiery passion, a new zeal and a new light!!

For the sake of convenience, I wish to review this blog once again and let you know that it divided into three levels-I, II & III.

Segment A, which was named Celebrate Life is of level I and belongs to intense knowledge or Teerva Gyan. New readers will have to refer post Expand your Consciousness-II to know what these three new words mean. They are teevra gyan, prachand gyan and prabhutva gyan.

Segment B Door to Heaven pertains to very intense knowledge and rightly called as Prachand Gyan. It falls in level II

Segment C titled Life Sacred is of level III. From the post “Delusion” onwards the blog picks up slowly accentuating towards blazing knowledge from ‘How does one know Atman?”. I have touched upon subjects regarding our Consciousness, Super Consciousness and how to expand our consciousness. Our consciousness is expanded by three factors- our thoughts, our will and our deeds,-sankalpa Shakti, ichcha Shakti and kriya Shakti. You will find many posts here which are an explanation on these powers that we possess and are yet not introduced in us or their  potentials have not been tapped  fully.

In between there are posts which tell us about the food and diet that a yogi should follow and how peace is of utmost importance for him or her because tranquillity brings about stability of mind. The foremost importance of the role of a great guru in a seeker’s life is also explained at the end of this segment in Why is it mandatory to have a Divine Guru I & II.

Segment D Part I – Our lost Heritage is a two pronged segment. It covers two subjects and serves two purposes. One is our lost heritage and the importance of restoration of the ancient and new spiritual, heritage sites. Therefore it has many colourful pictures as I visited many heritage sites. Secondly,  this segment is dedicated to some of my prominent past lives which I regressed into as the whole circuit and expedition was getting over and it helped me heal my past as well as introduce me to the uncountable prominent good deeds   and accomplishments that I  achieved in previous led lives. This information not only gave me a strong belief and confidence in me, on the other hand it proved to me that to achieve the highest state of human spiritual evolution called nirvana or moksha or enlightenment, we should qualify to attain it by being pure, virtuous and selfless in many lives so that we accumulate a huge number of pious karmas.

And that life does not end once we cast our bodies on the Earth. There is a similar life in the skies and we continue to grow, get rewarded or punished according to our present and past deeds and continue to evolve even out there!! Segment D Part II –Far Into the Journey Unknown represents this topic. It also has reflections and anecdotes from my own knowledge of Occult as given by my Gurus. This is the reason I never get tired of thanking them all the time because these subjects are not handed down by our parents and neither are they taught in any regular school. It is a gift given by our Spiritual teachers so that we can navigate our voyage easily and with some basic knowledge of the other unknown worlds we learn to live our lives on the Earth peacefully and are in control of our thoughts, deeds and  present lives.

My undying yearning to see Babaji and thank him personally for the gratitude I have harboured over the years kindled enduring flame to touch his holy feet.  My wish to go to Satopanth and meet him personally made me cross all sorts of barriers physical, mental as well as spiritual for a decade.. The last part of segment D consists posts which narrate that part- A Voyage to Eternity-A Pilgrimage to Shri Mahavatar Babaji’s Ashram at Badrinath.

The new segment E appropriately named New Light, New Life begins with posts which are my experiences regarding my failure to meet him personally because of bad weather and non-supportive provisions and backings. Yet I was given the highest blazing knowledge Brahma Vidya   which I had longed for,on my way back home in a car through mental transference. The purpose was fulfilled in a very bizarre manner. It is now that I sort of understand to some limit, how intricately everything was woven and planned to give me those experiences to realize. That I should be surrendering to God in each and every circumstances and only after I had done so at the highest level, could I have a direct, face to face experience with the Divine!!! Oh! What a fantastic journey this has been!!!

And finally, each segment is a book in itself. As the time becomes right, these segments will be published as a single book on Kindle and hard cover also so that Shri Mahavatar Babaji’s life, glory, mission, future forecasts and world mission can be documented forever and can be used for posterity. And the income of the books that will be generated will be used to spread his teachings, aims and mission all over the world.

Hope the old as well as the new readers will now get an overview of this complete blog.  And after getting to know it, the seriousness about the aims, objectives and the mission of Shri Mahavatar Babaji will automatically seep in. This should make them more one pointed and focused and they can plan and chart out their future spiritual life journeys. Any help, guidance and support that you wish to take shall be provided, it is my pleasure!

Now to end this post, a small narration of a beautiful and short spiritual experience that I had only yesterday less than twenty four hours ago…….

Part B

Last night was an uneasy night for several reasons. I was not getting any sleep. The fundamental concern was that I still hadn’t received very clear instructions regarding the content of the new write-up and time was just flying away. The post was due today. So I sat down on the sofa peacefully after the day was done, and on impulse went back to my heavenly experience that I had in Karna Prayag. (see the later part of the post) I could again see some drizzle of golden haze and thin rays of light in my vision. The very fine drizzle precipitated in front of my eyes  and calmed me down completely. Although in the last few days, I have been repeatedly reassuring  myself that I will not be let down and my work will be delivered well on time, I became a little anxious by this  time.

Ever since I encountered this extra special spiritual experience in the Himalayas, I have been silently telling God that henceforth I shall never ask anything more because without my even asking or demanding, already so much blessedness and grace has been bestowed over me that I do not wish to seek any more favours. Whatever new  has to come should come as just grace from God’s side. Whatever comes will be taken as Prasad and Kripa, mere Grace.

So sitting with so much peace and harmony, when I peeped inside myself, I saw that there was nothing inside me except grace, wonderful blessedness. And that finally I had arrived at a stage where out of unconditional love, the seeker surrenders selflessly and gracefully and grace comes automatically. Knowing and experiencing divinity to this great extent, I have arrived at a stage where the ‘jeeva’ or individual being dies out completely and only God exists; only grace of God exists. This is full surrender when the devotee dissolves himself or herself and immerses its identity completely into the consciousness of the Highest Force. So whatever comes from God, at whatever time, even knowledge or revelations is absolutely acceptable to me……I have no say in it.

I got my ideas about this post in the early hours of today. I have understood that from now onwards my Guru and God are giving me lessons with a new method. The higher I go, the subtler it becomes. I should be extremely patient and never forget that God is forever working and guiding me but sometimes I cannot read in between the lines so I should wait- wait more patiently.

When is it that God is not with me? We just have to be very patient enough to know that there is no moment ever  when we are not in the presence of the grace of God. We only have to be in complete harmony and union, that’s all!

I get a new life, a new light in Badrinath-III

#143

Just yesterday, I went to take some rest in the afternoon to get started working on my new post. By taking rest, I wished to collect my thoughts and was wondering that although I had enough to say but how do I start this one. I knew what the main theme was but a lot of times I do not know how to begin a new write up. Probably, this was also due to the fact that the splendid festival Diwali, the festival of lights and happiness has surcharged the environment with a buzz of activities. I was not getting the right environment to meditate. With that intention in my mind and to bring to a halt my regular humdrum activities, I decided to devote some time for relaxation and to take a breather and consolidate myself.

During that time, I meditated while I also tried to find answers to some quirky things that happened a few hours ago. As I relaxed and got respite in a few minutes, slowly my answers began to trickle in. I found some accurate answers from the highest Consciousness. I realized that we need extraordinary patience and persistence if we want to know the cause of the bizarre and inexplicable happenings that occur to us.  Everything has a reason, and that happens because there is a cause somewhere about which we have no clue. Thinking of all this and marveling at the micro- functioning of the Universal Laws in our Cosmos, I felt very gratified and I became quiet. My eyes were closed approvingly and I was in complete harmony of mind and body. At this point of time, I saw a beautiful Diwali earthen lamp made of dense golden glowing light in the far expanses. It was sparkling and had intense light coming out of it. I was wonder struck at this appeasing sight and took delight in having the rare opportunity to see a blaze of Light in front of me so brilliantly.

A drop of dazzling Light from this lamp came towards me and entered my forehead and it encircled the spot of the Divine eye which we call the third eye. I deliberately allowed it to come in. Just as I recognized that the Divine Light has arrived, the second patch of Light arrived at the same spot. Then the third enforcement and may be another bit of more bright light until the lamp vanished. I started quivering gently. With this accomplishment, I had become totally recharged and ready to begin my work. In a conjuring manner, I found answers to not only the quaint circumstances and the developments that were taking place over the last many days. On the other hand, I also got a reason to begin this post with an appealing anecdote!

Of late, I have had quite a few experiences of profound revelations since I have returned from Badrinath in September. If I compare my experiences and recent life situations with the Environmentalists or Naturalists, we have something in common. Our experiences teach us to have great patience. The most exquisite experiences and triumphs of an Environmentalist or Naturalists come after a long hiatus, a deep longing and a treacherous wait. To support my statement, take the instance of the Naturalists and Ornithologists who spend days and months even years, in deep forests. They have worked painstakingly, waited endlessly to get a glimpse of the most exquisite birds called the Birds of Paradise in the untouched forests.

So many times success eludes them yet they go again to those forests to watch these exclusive birds. The Birds of Paradise are ethereal, incomparable and most strikingly beautiful because of magnificent colours of their feathers and plumes. Their iridescent plumage and extraordinary, elongated and elaborate feathers combined with their unbelievable enticing dance and astonishing serenading are nature’s most extraordinary wonders on Earth!! These exceptionally beautiful and miraculous birds exist in only one place on Earth and the Environmentalists and the Ornithologists go all the way to those untouched rain forests to do research on them and record documents. And all this requires exceptional painstaking labour and patience. I thought of all this in the bed when I went back to my very fresh experiences in the Himalayas and I remembered my own unimpressive and ineffectual trek to Satopanth. And as I was brooding over all this, I was blessed with an eye opening and prodigious revelation. However, for you to know what those revelations were, we will have to go back and forth in times as I did myself yesterday  afternoon to consolidate my myriad spiritual experiences taking place in the last few months.

Part-I

Extraordinary experiences demand extraordinary patience.

When I was returning from Badrinath from my failed attempt to meet Shri Mahavatar Babaji in person, I was wilted and lifeless. I was not able to come to terms with the most unexpected turn of events. I could not even understand why all that happened to us. And what was the reason for Babaji to bring me to such high altitudes with so many hardships and then turn down my plea and aspirations? Why did he inspire me so much only to be denied? Why didn’t he meet me? What is going on? All my efforts have borne no fruit and now what in the world will inspire me? I became numb and was too dazed to figure out what was happening to me with the connivance of God and Babaji. In such a state of being insentient and lifeless, I needed mental rest. With all hopes shattered and no energy and life left in me, I wanted to rest in the car as we were driving towards Rishikesh. The time I closed my eyes, I became very still and tranquil and got some rest. Some twenty five kilometres before Karna Prayag, I witnessed that I am no more so anxious and tired. I felt like just shutting my eyes as nothing outside looked any worthwhile; I needed to come closer to my own self. I knew that Babaji had left Badrinath along with me on 22nd Sept and must be in the same vicinity as me somewhere.

(New readers will have to revert to older posts New Light, New Life, I get a new life, a new light in Badrinath-I & II

In spite of my composure, the further I traveled down, the sadder I became. There was a reason for it. Mentally I was still so profoundly connected with him because he gave me information of each detail and description of his movement, hour by hour even minute by minute by telepathy. There was not a single moment when we were apart. I was actually making two trips on two levels. One mentally with him upwards towards his winter abode in middle regions of Himalayas where he had just shifted, and one in physical terms while I was descending from Himalayas towards Rishikesh. I was torn apart in every sense. So close yet so far I thought.

I don’t know when it happened but I was very settled and composed as some time passed and I touched my inner depths quite smoothly. I was soon lost to the outer physical world and I was at peace with myself. An exclusive peace made me centred and balanced and I did not want to come out of it at all now. I lost consciousness of time and my own body and got drowned in my inner peace. I stayed in that situation to what seemed timeless and eternity.

At this stage, I saw a very thick shaft of Light penetrating from a big opening up in the higher spaces. The Light had arrived from the divine Heavens onto the Earth and was cutting across the many layers of the skies and had reached the ground. Before it touched the ground, it was sprinkling from that opening in all areas. Some rays were falling on the left side, some in the centre and some on the right side of the opening. The space was filled with innumerable shimmery, beautiful rays of golden Light. The thick beam of Light rays were falling gently from above and they resembled the falling of very light snowflakes sprinkling all the way down on the ground. Soon my whole canvas was filled entirely with ample rays of Divine Light producing unprecedented deep silence and depth less stillness. I stayed with it until in the profusion of Light, I saw a solid trunk of a Banyan tree. In the space between my vision and that tree trunk was the presence of that copious golden Light!

The Banyan tree was situated inside a spacious cave cut out of a mountain piece. Its strong and thick roots were holding to the ground tightly and were distributed in all ways. In front of the tree trunk amidst the drizzle of golden rays was a seat which had a grey woolen blanket. On the blanket someone was seated. My eyes were keen to know who it was. It was a yogi. I watched this yogi with a mesmerizing spell and awe. I was captivated by his presence and aura. First I saw just the right half of the yogi in meditation whose hair was unusually long and was dropping down freely much below his seat like the hanging roots of the Banyan tree behind him.

Slowly, I saw the full face; it had a radiant golden glow. The body was also brilliant as rays of golden yellow light were coming out of him. He wore an ochre cloth over his body and was meditating with a still body. Now I could see the whole figure and recognized the identity without any doubt. I saw myself bending towards him in gratitude and reverence and I had no sense of time or space while I sat there wonder struck. The vision was now complete. I was in a big cave in a mountain where there was an old Banyan tree. There was a lot of divinity present there and the rays of Golden Light from God, of peace and knowledge were coming towards the cave. I sat there on the ground at his feet with poise. We both sat there in the cave under a big Banyan tree amidst the atmosphere of golden light. Much time lapsed and I was having a glorious time during those wonderful moments.

The yogi began to give me a sermon-

“God is an Eternal Force. That force is in you, recognize it. This Universe is His creation made of illusion, Maya. Separate the Maya from Ishwar, God. God is infinite and so is his creation – endless. The Supreme Knowledge with which one knows God is also Eternal Shashwat. Attain that. Separate the perishable body from the Eternal Brahma. You are Brahma. You are Eternal. Thou art That.”

I heard each word with rapt attention and after listening to these sacred words of eternal knowledge, I underwent another supernatural phenomenon. I saw myself enclosed in a tube like case and I was immediately passing through it which was like a long, deep passageway. I traveled in it very swiftly and I was inside the passage. There was abundant light in it. I was moving up this passage amidst a lot of light with ecstasy. After travelling quite a long passage, I came out of it as it had ended. The moment I came out of this passage, I felt the expansion. There was limitless dazzling Light outside it. This Light was much, much greater and more expansive than inside. In an enrapturing bliss, I began to jump up with my right hand raised in the air and my index finger pointing towards the sky and I said, “I am That, I am That, I am That!”

Dear readers, this is a very exact and rare description of Shakti paat or transference of divine energies that took place in my personal spiritual journey. It was when Shri Mahavatar Babaji transferred the realization of that Eternal Force called Brahma from his cave in the Himalayas when I was sitting in a car and returning home without meeting him in Badrinath on 22nd of September before Karna Prayag. He gave me a direct experience of that Cosmic Consciousness as grace and compassion. Such experiences require very perfect conditions of mind, body and outer environment.

He was aware that I could not have been able to withstand the acute cold conditions of the place where he spends his summers – the cave close to the Satopanth Lake at 14,000 ft above sea level. It was not the right place for me for this revelation. So he never met me personally at that spot though he was calling me since years. Today I understand that nevertheless, the bungled and unsuccessful trek up to Chamtoli at the height of 12,000 ft was necessary for me and my daughter to be able to undergo some specific experiences in order to be ready for this exquisite and very extraordinary spiritual experience which I have just recounted. He was aware since the very beginning that I would not be able to make it to the top yet he made me undergo many extreme near death, physical, mental hardships in various geographical conditions since years as preparations in order to make me complete for the realization and experience of Brahma.

Please refer older post-(A Voyage to Eternity- a pilgrimage to Shri Mahavatar Babaji’s Ashram at Badrinath those readers who do not know the past and backgound of events on which this post is based on)

I am just realizing that Shri Mahavatar Babaji is such a splendid Spiritual Master. His expertise lies in working on us endlessly with tremendous patience and waiting infinitely for the results to manifest. He works on us without any rest and like an excellent teacher, he gives us some tasks to accomplish as our spiritual training or sadhana. Many uncountable small tasks when accomplished, combine in the end to achieve something very extraordinary. And for that very extraordinary achievement and triumph is taught the inculcating of extraordinary patience to us.

My very beloved Mahavatar Babaji, I thank you with all my heart, soul and mind for being so patient with me as you have chiseled and sculpted an idol out of a waste piece of rock in the wilderness!!!The craftsmanship, labour, art, sweat, patience and love is yours, I am only the receiver, the beneficiary. You are like the blazing Sun in the sky that lights up this Universe and hides itself at night. The Sun has been lighting up this Earth since I don’t know when and it never ever asks for acknowledgement and  any  credit. Shri  Babaji, you are the Light of this world! You have brought so much Light into my life and through me to other people’s lives. May we be your obedient children and always follow the radiant path of knowledge, humility, consecration, purity and virtuousness as shown by you. This is still too small in return for all the countless blessings that you have been pouring on us endlessly.

I get a new life, a new light in Badrinath-II

#142

Jasmine, lavender, rose, lily, sweet pea, saffron and poppy flowers are blooming in a valley. They are blooming in my valley of flowers. The valley stands majestically between two large mountains and is sprawling below the bright, blue sky. As I stand on a big boulder to see this valley, I see flower beds as far as my eyes can see. The flowers are gently swaying with the breeze wherever it is drifting. I stretch out my arms along with my imagination far and wide and inhale the mystifying air as long as I can. I stretch on the tips of my toes and inflate myself as much as I possibly can.  I can distinctly smell the atmosphere laden with divine perfumes. And never before were the astral smells as distinct and vivid as of now.  It has the mild fragrance of sweet peas. I can smell it again. The sweet fragrance of magical Jasmine has aroused my subtle sensibilities. And the waft of Jasmine has filled my olfactory senses with intoxicating spell of mild hypnosis. The eyelids are becoming heavier with the balm of this kind of mind hypnosis. Relaxation and more relaxation is overpowering by now and the subtle dose of mild intoxication is comforting every pore . Overriding all this is a complete balancing of all the three entities – body, mind and even the Soul. They all have become one.

Rapidly this calming effect is lifting my Soul and mind to another world where perhaps only the angels or saints live. The world that I have just stepped in is the world of highest subtlest stellar sensibilities. I have become as light as an angel sashaying on white fleecy clouds with joy and glee. The ultra-soothing scent of my valley of flowers takes me to the last step of the door to the higher levels of the astral seventh skies. I visualize that my inner core is vacant and this prevailing abstract, deep tranquility fills it up extravagantly. The atmosphere here smells heavenly as plentiful light, nimble poppies are opening and are hypnotizing and transporting me to transcending infinity.  I am visiting the calmest regions of that advanced cloud of serenity. I am in the astral skies of the heaven, which is called Ramnik Udyan by the semi gods in the celestial skies – a garden that is not only mystifying but even has the power to soothe my every cell in the agile brain which is now sparkling with abundant energy. I am in euphoria and again and again long to be….

Morning meditation 27.10.12

I bought Jasmine flowers on the previous day and presented them with love to my deities. The house was filled with the divine smell throughout night as well in the day that followed. The mystic spell of the grace of my Guru Param Pujya, the holiest Shri Mahavatar Babaji began to dispense on me silently. The description given here of what I began to experience on that morning is just a mere glimpse of the novel experience that I stumbled upon surprisingly. After the unprecedented tranquility that I underwent in my very quiet heart, I had thanked him and prayed with love to initiate me to start the next post according to his penchant and judgement.

I also invoked Divine Mother of Pondicherry for the fact that it was first of all her from whom I learned that the flowers have a Spirit and she could communicate with them because of the Occult powers that she had possessed. All flowers have their own wavelength and if we communicate with them mentally, they can heal us wherever we are provided we have removed all the impurities of our hearts. Some flowers have the ability of channeling our current consciousness to the seventh skies if we are ready to reach up to that state, Jasmine being on the top of the list. The Mother was very fond of flowers for several reasons and could talk to them based on her deep knowledge of Occult and flower power science. She created the most amazing incense sticks out of them and taught a few the art of this science when she was alive.  The samadhi of Ma in Pondicherry is although very basic and humble, nonetheless it is decorated every day in the wee hours by sophisticated rangoli, the geometrical designs by just flowers by her devotees even today! What can be a finer way of displaying one’s love and devotion to such a pre-eminent and exalted soul?

Here I would like to insert an interesting anecdote of my own spiritual life to add to the loveliness of this new experience. A few years ago, before I knew fully well who exactly was Babaji, without my knowing he had embedded himself in my life with a tint of mystery and a sense of enigma to lure me! My house would start smelling of rose essence or perfume suddenly out of nowhere. It would also bring about a sense of restfulness and tranquility to us. I would find it enigmatic because there would be nobody in the house but for me. When other family member came to know of it and he too experienced it, I started believing that there was something more to what my eyes or nose could sense. This happened many times and I soon got to know from somewhere that it was a good omen in my life. Later on, Shri Babaji told me for I loved flowers a lot he decided to attract my attention in this appealing, unusual and quaint manner. It was also an indication that he would give me some knowledge of occultism in future. The world that we live in should not be the limits of my spiritual education and knowledge, he believed.

He further said that the above cited narrative and extra sensory perception of the astral valley of flowers is a native of one of the upmost levels of the seventh skies, or the seventh stage of Consciousness. He asked me to cite this narrative as there is a definite purpose behind it. He wishes to illumine the people and impart them the following spiritual knowledge and wisdom- In his own words,

  • “All the people are after some kind of happiness and that happiness is of the ephemeral, transitory and perishable world. The happiness that they are pursuing will never be found outside; it is to be found inside within oneself with meditation. One is perishable, impermanent worldly happiness of lower order attained by the derivation of the senses and this pursuance culminates in a glut and over supply of sorrow, misery and painful consequences. The humans can even fall in hell because of their compelling bad habits because they become a slave of their senses and finally the senses begin to rule their mind and body.
  • Next are the people who wish to fulfill their yearnings of attaining money, power, status and some who live to bloat in their egos. Such people are bound to be suffering from depression, diseases and discontentment in future. There is no end and limit to find happiness outside; we will be squandering many human lives like this to no avail.
  • Then a few come in this world and uncover everything, and out of them choose what is sacred, pure and revered. They lead a gentle, pious and restrained life.

Those persons, who with their firm, unyielding stiff efforts, try hard in each life, as a final point find long-lasting happiness and God’s bliss one day. This type of long-lasting and stable happiness, ever increasing, and ever widening happiness is beyond the senses. It is defined and termed as ‘ati indriya ananda’ – that which is beyond the senses. Such splendid happiness is experienced by the mind or manas. When the mind approaches God and is very near to it, then such an exotic state is derived by the seeker by the blessing of God and Guru both. Ati Indriya Ananda is achieved with Guru Kripa, Ishwara Kripa.

Everyday remove all your impurities, keep your mind away from contamination. Concentrate your mind at one point, make it stable. Learn meditation and make your senses, mind and body stable and you will find success in your efforts with the grace of your Guru.

Atma’s nature is Satchitananda. When your chitt, inner core will become stable in the Light of the Truth  Satya Prakash, you will attain Ananda, enraptured bliss. Keep your mind calm, keep it pure; have patience. One day you will also experience the power of God.

Those persons attain Prabhutva Gyan or blazing knowledge who never permit any negative thoughts to breed inside.

No matter what happens, they never lose confidence in themselves. The path of God is a very long route; there will be many ups and downs. Like a brave soldier, obey the commands of your Guru, and become fearless and march ahead, you will one day reach your journey’s end.

To achieve blazing knowledge, keep your mind stable uninterruptedly. Be alert, the mind should not be unsteady and unbalanced. The storms blowing outside should not enter inside you. To achieve this, you will require tremendous mental energies. To generate abundant mental energies keep your body healthy, pure, disease free and synchronized with your mind. The heart and the brain are the two most important organs of the human body. Keep the heartbeat rate steady and stable by regular meditations and physical exercises. Take enough sleep and eat saatvik or pure foods. Lead a life of being morally upright, unblemished and courageous.”

Twilight meditation on same day

My silent conversation with Shri Mahavatar Babaji during meditation-

Shree Babaji – “Regarding the depth and duration of your meditation, the duration has increased but further depth needs to be acquired, go further inside.”

Me – “How?”

Shri Babaji – “By relenting  the thoughts that inhabit your persona or aura. Become aware of them. You are very serious inside but cheerful from outside. Your sensitive heart should not be allowed to harbour or cling to the anxieties or concerns of other people’s wrongful living. You should not feel sorry for them because they are misled by their own shortcomings. Clear this now in meditation and in future do not hold on to these wavelengths. Just do the right actions towards them all, do good to all and once the good acts are done, do not contemplate or brood over it. Do not think of them at all. Free yourself of those thoughts because they are from lower consciousness and your saatvik energies will drop. The removal of such thoughts will create some empty mental space. Fill that space with Brahma”

At this point of time, I saw the diagram of a human body with the spinal cord and the seven chakras, the seven energy centres placed on it. In a flash of a moment, I recollected that the higher one goes up on the chakras, the higher the consciousness of the human being. I could then see those prohibited thoughts approaching me as a dark wave once again and my energies began to sink and I started to feel down and sluggish again. I caught it right there and then and decided that I will consciously eradicate thoughts which are coming from people around me who are being misled by their own doings. I should absolve myself because I cannot teach them virtuous things. They will have to do it on their own now. My constant suggestions and help have had no heed.

I again became very calm and restful in mind once I became lighter with the removal of the arrived uninvited thoughts. I was absolutely composed and experienced some moments of complete silence within. There were no mental movements, no images, no sounds and no activity. I realized that I had just touched the ‘Nishabdi Brahma’ state, a state of just being.

For the first time I understood and captured some moments where we become wordless, soundless and devoid of any internal as well as external activities in the human mind. It occurred to me what I had asked some wise people in the past what ‘Anahat’ was. I was familiar with these words because they had too often come in the couplets of Sant Kabir. Many times, I had tried to peep into and go behind these words about more than twenty  years ago when I was establishing myself as a serious seeker; I could hardly scratch the surface then ! However, I wanted a gigantic figure and someone reliable to explain me all this with authority because the dohas or couplets of Kabir which are most  beautifully sung by Kumar Gandharva. Though learnt by heart by me were still not experienced or understood with depth at that time. You shall find these terms explained here by our kindest, revered Babaji in a very simple and easy manner for all of us to appreciate and cherish in a short while…..

I must have sat in that state for what seemed to be a long span of time and then Babaji proclaimed what I have been craving and yearning for ever since I have found him. Since the time he has come in my life, it has been my wholehearted and unswerving desire to be initiated by Shri Mahavatar Babaji and receive the knowledge of the ultimate Truth – the knowledge of Self or Brahma.

Dear readers, please let me tell you that when Shri Babaji speaks to me, his favourite language is Hindi. And I am still savouring the enchanting sweet nectar. Twilight time is the time for the lavender sky and the lavender colour is most soothing equally for the mind and body. Like soft lavender colour, soothing words arrived unexpectedly towards me touching my Soul at that glorious hour. Shri Babaji chose the most appropriate time for such an important event-tranquil time of the day and a very tranquil state of my mind.

I am repeating those lines in Hindi to give the real message because there is sometimes a difficulty faced in finding the exact and equivalent words that are originally written in the Upanishads and Bhagwad Geeta.

The translation of the same will follow in English after the Hindi version.

He initiated me by pronouncing,

English translation.

“Go upto  Anahat  which comes after shunya. After shunya comes naadghosh, a state where the yogi suddenly hears the sounds of Om or of melodious bells or a bell. Before shunya comes peace shanti and bliss ananda .

When the mind is in void or shunya, it becomes speechless and thoughtless. This state comes with the depth of the meditative mind therefore it is advised that you take your mind further deep. The longer you prolong your stay in the deeper levels of your mind, the more you shall attain happiness originating from God. Such a state of mind is achieved with the blessing of Guru. That which is incomprehensible to the worldly man, it is that joy and bliss. Therefore, make your spinal cord stronger to enable you to sit for longer hours in meditation in sukhasana, a comfortable yogic pose.

During such times, look inside your eyes, you will see Light. That light will come from me. Your mind is completely immersed in me in every sense and whenever you will remember me, you will see Light. That Light will give you the knowledge of Brahma which is very hard to achieve. The knowledge of Brahma is attained with the releasing of uncountable pious actions accumulated over many lives lived before this birth.

Brahma is Light. Brahma is spiritual wisdom. Brahma is Consciousness. Always keep the flame of that consciousness kindled in you. Brahma is a cluster of Light, Prakash Punj. Brahma will always protect you. May that Brahma always keep your consciousness ablaze, have such a yearning this evening….”

After my meditation got over, I went to the altar and lit a small candle in the dispenser as a mark of reverence to worship Shri Mahavatar Babaji who commenced a day of new Light in my life. On the top of the dispenser I released a few drops of flower essence. Before long, the room smelt delightful and very pleasing. The fragrance was of none other than that of delightful Jasmine!

I get a new life, a new Light in Badrinath-I

#141

Dear readers, before you proceed to read this new post, I hope you must have read the previous two –New Life, New Light and Expand your Consciousness-II. As the later is lengthy and to recapitulate the important portion from it, let me please highlight and quote a few lines after which the flow of the post will begin.

“Once the Spirit unfolds in us and you know Atma, there are three levels of aspiration and heights to accomplish after that. In accordance, there are three types of gyan or wisdom – Teevra gyan, Prachand gyan and Prabhutva gyan – intense, very intense and blazing wisdom respectively. In between these three stages there are other sub- stages of spiritual and God’s wisdom.”

This new post which has a title ‘I got a new life, a new Light in Badrinath,’ will have three parts- I, II and III. Part I will narrate about my new life and part II & III will deal with how I got new Light after Mahavatar Babaji revealed some exceptional Oriental, antique knowledge as supreme Grace to me after I could not meet him in Badrinath in Sept’12. A deep sense of gratitude wells up all the time in silent moments these days for Him even though outwardly I have been thoroughly engaged in formatting and composing this exceptional post since then. This is surely one of those articles which can never fade or become dull in my memory and will always be most treasured for so many reasons known only to me. My recent voluminous experiences prior to this post and also just before the post took a definite shape today are some of the most wonderful, extra ordinary and memorable experiences I have ever had – earthly as well as spiritual. They have in fact been life-altering experiences. I am now a very changed person- much, much calmer and quieter inside outside. The deep sense of oneness with my Supreme Self and the unbroken connection between we two makes it so. The exclusive experiences have today made me understand-

What is Moksha or liberation, the complete science behind it and also what happens on this path even after this particular eminent high state of human Spiritual Consciousness is attained.

The theory of karma and karmafal or action and reaction is densely connected with the kind and level of illumination or Moksha a soul finally gets; they are very intricately interconnected in this matter. I have learned that the highest spiritual wisdom comes to only those who are pure, pious and kind-hearted in every life and not just selected few out of the uncountable. It is a chain or series of many, many virtuous births and pious lives that are responsible for accumulation of highest spiritual wisdom – the stage of Prabhutva Gyan or blazing knowledge and wisdom. It comes after one attains Moksha. It is a long procedure where our every good act, whether visible or invisible to others accumulate over a very long period of time. Those very actions act as a highly positive force in some future specific life to give us the incredible push that we would require to break free from the bondage of lives which were our very first ones on this Earth as humans! Imagine going that very far in time and space in mind or manas with your kindest Guru! This is possible if you desire it very strongly and fall in the category of intense and fiery determined seekers and meet the pre-qualifications to achieve it which are pre-set by the Supreme Force.

I have been very fortunate to be able to reach up to the first ever human birth that I took and recently the last thin string that was tying me as a compulsion was broken. I became free of any chain.

This blog post is for one and all. It is for those readers who have been consistent in keeping in touch with the regular postings on the blog since its inception or who have arrived lately and are taking their first steps. It is also for those people who are yet to come from all over the world. This article is going to be useful for the people of future as this post also touches upon concerns and issues of our present overall lives and even the lives of our generations still to come. All the posts which are regularly posted here are for all types of seekers, the casual one, the serious one and lastly the very serious ones. It depends on each one’s desire how far one wants to go ahead or how much does each seeker wishes to experience one’s Divine Self vis- a -vis in this very life.

My realizations-

To procure the highest order of spiritual knowledge called Prabhutva Gyan, or blazing knowledge, the Guru makes the disciple undergo intensive spiritual work and toil so that the very transparent invisible loam or dirt of delusion does not exist anywhere; it vanishes completely. The more we lose the grip of that ignorance or Maya, the more wisdom we get. Meditation erases slowly the memory of our contact and contamination with Maya over lives. Meditation calms the mind, cleans it of prevailing Maya, subdues and quietens it. The rays of God’s Light in intense moments of high meditative stage, penetrate our cerebrum and in doing so they give us solutions and answers to our protracted and bewildering problems. Problems which are manifestations of our difficult karmas or actions performed sometime in the past. When the last strings or threads of karmic bondage with the very first lives are also shattered by the blazing knowledge very gently and you are set free, the soul is ready for the third and final stage of illumination – Prabhutva Gyan.

The bondage and ties are hidden in the subtle body and cannot be seen by anyone except the Guru. The corresponding alterations and markings of these karmic slavery are etched inside the brain. During meditation, with the grace of God and the Divine Master, the shreds called the loam of ignorance or avidya present in the brain are wiped off by the illuminating rays of Light and there are no dust particles of karmas in our spine and nervous system. In future times, as there are no particles of ignorance in our nervous system, the rays of the blazing wisdom enter freely in our nervous cells. Such a phenomenon is for the handful as the criteria for passing the test is hard to meet.

There are three things that the seeker must have never done in any one of his incarnations and based on those criteria, he/she becomes qualified to even think of procuring such blazing illumination called Prabhutva Gyan. The highest level of wisdom and spiritual knowledge is attained after one attains Moksha and are next levels after this stage.

  • Such a soul should never have committed suicide even if there were insurmountable difficulties or pain in any life.
  • Should never have killed or murdered any one and
  • Should not have grabbed someone’s land unlawfully with force or coercion.

If any soul has ever committed either one or more than one of these sins in any life, then by the order and command of God, he/she is debarred from attaining the highest stage of Samadhi- Brahma Samadhi. It is achieved only after attaining Prabhutva Gyan, the most blazing knowledge and wisdom of God and its workings.

God has a record of all our past actions in all our lives or incarnations and the perfect Guru can peep into all your lives easily. Having said that, if the seeker is very determined not to mind the fury of so many lives’ force of karmas unfolding in some queer or hard ways, wishes to still rise up and bask in the glory and shine of one’s Cosmic Spirit, then the perfect Guru will give some of his own force and will power to substantiate the will power and desire of his disciple. This is irrespective of any gender provided she or he is willing to take on anything, any circumstance that is sent by the will of God at that juncture. The perfect Guru will then start guiding the disciple in the most mysterious fashion to accomplish this far-fetched and inconceivable goal.

In the mid of October 2011, one afternoon while I was sitting relaxed and thinking of my spiritual life journey, suddenly I heard Babaji saying that he would like me to travel to many places in a series to India’s heritage sites.

I had many times wished to go to Khajuraho and Ajanta Ellora since a long time but never went there. And as the itinerary got finalized, I was happy and at that time I was not in a position to perceive the connotation of the whole episode. The real meaning of intensive travelling was minimal and superficial. The unabridged purpose of visiting the various sites has just been understood and seeped in. In Nov’11, I began touring with the first trip to Kanhangad, Kerala to the caves of Swami Shri Nityananda where he did penance for many years. I received a lot of strength and understanding of his personal spiritual journey and my future spiritual journey alongside with that. He blessed me so that I could pursue my future journey smoothly and without breaks and hurdles.

A short visit to Karla caves near Mumbai and Igatpuri to trek to Kalsubai moutain in December and to Ajanta Ellora in January was made. Soon after this, we went to Mallikarjun at Sri Sailam in the month of February after which I toured Puri, Konark, Dhauligiri, Bhubaneshwar and concluded the round with Khajuraho in the month of March. I assumed that the travelling would end here. But the whole touring came to an end finally only last month when I again went to Shri Badrinath in September.  I went to Badrinath in August also but returned from Rishikesh because of floods and landslides. Why were these many trips made apart from seeing the heritage sites was hidden in mystery until a few days back when I found out. I had mentioned in those posts that I had visited my past lives when I was in Puri or Khajuraho and I have also constructed temples in a few important sites there. I was made to visit these places because they are a landmark in my spiritual journey and those lives standout from others. The unburnt seeds of unripe karmas were cauterized by reliving those lives momentarily. Then again, what was the need to know all this was kept hidden away from me until the whole truth was out after I made a third unsuccessful attempt to meet Shri Mahavatar Babaji in the middle of September’12.

In the last few months I wanted three things from Shri Mahavatar Babaji

  • More Divine knowledge
  • Inspiration to touch new unparalleled heights in Spirit
  • Shakti or power to increase the depth and duration of my daily meditations

Although I did not come to know when God heard my petition, but the recent hardships, turmoil, agitation and arduous events at home and in the trip to the Himalaya’s Badrinath temple area granted me my desired plea. However, there were no prior indications or intimations from any where as to what was to happen and what would finally emerge from it all. Whatever few instructions that were articulated by Shri Mahavatar Babaji sometime during the day or sometime during calm moments of night to me were obeyed and followed with complete reliance and executed with confidence. This went on for more than a month and a half.

As each day arrived one by one, beginning from 22nd August onward they became harder and harder to take till the end of September. I was still absolutely clueless about what was happening and also what my predefined and pre- casted fate was and the final outcome of all that was on-going. Yet I believed in Babaji’s godlike words and pursued till the end; my utter blind faith in Mahavatar led me to do. I was tenacious and indefatigable. So much so, that when my mother underwent a long stay in the hospital in the last week of August in Sharjah,  I was told by my relatives at one stage that she was recovering and would return home in two days. So I left for Delhi on 13th Sept and proceeded towards Badrinath area. I reached on 16th evening and the same evening my mother passed away and we were miles  away from each other. It was devastating. I was wondering what could be the reason of Babaji’s queer behaviour towards me.

I later realized that because of lack of purity and divinity prevailing in the people around me, Babaji thought it wise to instead pursue the pre-decided plans of clearing the load of dense karmas of my daughter. Therefore, I found myself in the chilly weather of the Himalayas instead of being with all the relatives. Though I was gloomy, I decided to still pursue my goal to reach the caves of Shri Mahavatar Babaji twenty five kilometres away from Badrinath temple.

This time again the guide conned us and much against my intuition and wish, started the trek on a wrong day. There were grey clouds and the Sun did not seem to be kind to us that day. We still began our trek although late on 18th September. The weather became very adverse after two o’clock and we were not taken care at all by any one. The consequences were that I became critically ill on 12,000 feet above sea level by four o’clock and had to be rescued literally. We were very lucky to meet by chance a group of five curious paramilitary trainees and a trainer respectively near our tent. I told them that there was an emergency and I wished to cut short my trek because of lack of amenities given by the organizer.

They were extremely helpful. They agreed to walk back with me and we trekked back in a drizzly, dark night thus saving each other’s lives. I knew the way back but was unwell. The path was very dangerous and slippery. We faced death every moment and were many times hanging by just a fine thread of life over wet rocks, slippery muddy path and cold weather! One wrong step and we would have fallen in cold Alaknanda river from a huge height. The army men also did not know the route back so we became a whole rescue team. My daughter was alright and looked after me all the way and saw to it that I would not slide back and become unconscious. I had caught a chill because of wet shoes and the body was not getting warm. She had never seen me fall to such a poor health condition before and salvaged me by being brave on that scary night and by looking after me all the way down.

In the meadow where we had camped before our retreat, I had lost all hopes of reaching the higher altitudes where Babaji usually stays and thus meet him personally even this time; realizing this I was totally heartbroken. It was the most disappointing moment of my life. I was dead tired, disappointed and perplexed. We somehow reached the hotel at nine o’clock at night in a jeep of armed services. They were extremely helpful till the time they dropped me back in the hotel. even in the hotel, everyone was very concerned and caring. They made sure that we immediately got something to eat to make us warm, brought us the useful items from the shop at night and gave us good food to get a good sleep and rest to recover. A sense of belonging and security returned and I started feeling and getting better just after that.

On the other hand when I woke up in the morning of 19th Sept, magically there was no exhaustion or pain in the body as if I had not trekked those rough and deadly eight something kilometres at all. And the Sun came out smiling at us as if to say that it was in collusion in the near fatal conspiracy against us by both – the Almighty and Shri Mahavatar Babaji! After that everything became very smooth and easy as if only until this part God had decided to contradict us in some bizarre ways. As I was too naïve to understand what was happening and what the exact plan of my Guru was, I complied with reverence and trust. We had to still spend two days in Badrinath for the taxi to come and take us back to Rishikesh. Most interestingly, I could meditate exceptionally well on those days. I have no words to explain to you how blessed I felt when I was all the time mentally talking to Babaji during my meditations in the hotel! Day and night I was in direct communion with Him as he unfolded many mind boggling mysteries of the imperceptible world of dead, of our Earth and also guided the passage of my mother safely to the next world. She had died with a lot of suffering and remorse and had asked Babaji for help to move on with ease. It was granted.

I realized that my meditations were exceptional for the reason that Babaji had descended from Satopanth lake on 19th Sept morning because of onset of winter and mild snowfall . He was staying in Badrinath  just a few yards away from me hiding! He was living in an ashram with other twelve disciples quietly. He explained what his day is like and advised me to be one with him to accomplish the most through my meditations because of his presence. He complained mildly that there is more noise than before in Badrinath and he wishes to live secretly so that outside irritants do not jeopardize his unity with God. Silence is required for him to work mentally to send out healing and spiritual vibrations and thoughts the world over.

He was on his way to lower altitude to spend the peak winter. Incidentally, we descended on the same date as they. It was 22nd Sept, 2012 morning.  Three devotees joined them in the ashram and they had come to Badrinath to take Shri Babaji and the rest of the troupe with them comfortably. Arrangements were made by these three devotees to take Shri Babaji to warmer altitudes in Himalayas. I and Babaji  although left Badrinath on the same date, did not see each other in physical form. He spoke to me very gently telepathically and also assured me that he would compensate all the bad times I had undergone with very rewarding times by calling me some other time. And as he knew I could not tolerate such high altitudes, so he would call me to the lower heights and would also fulfill all my desires. The most vital of all of them was of being in his holy company.

And even before I met him personally in future, he would give me the highest wisdom now because I had earned it. He assured me that in the upcoming posts sixteen to thirty two posts would be of the highest order. He will soon make me write about special things on the blog which have been written never before. They would be pertaining to Brahma, the highest Universal Self.

He also pointed out to me – “Like you did not circumvent or get marred by the nasty experiences in Badrinath and you were stable and patient, in the same way the state of blazing knowledge called Prabhutva gyan is earned and achieved when we encounter everything peacefully and patiently and never break down when God gives us all sorts of difficulties to pass a test. The Guru will deliberately give the most trying times to the disciple or shishya to make him/her strong to attain the highest knowledge. However, later he will give extreme comfort and relief.”

When I was trekking up on the steep mountain to reach Vyas Gufa in 2005 in Badrinath, Mahavatar Babaji reminded me about his forecast – that I will write and publish a book in future. Obviously, it sounded  like a joke at that time because I thought only saints and yogis could write a book on Vedantic knowledge. He informed and asked me that he is capable of making me write a grand book soon by which I shall become famous. However, I would myself not understand what I had written like so many people do. In comparison, the other option was that if I waited patiently, he would make me write and publish a book in some years. At that time, I would understand everything that I will write instead of only explaining or preaching to others. It will only happen after realization of Brahma. I immediately told Babaji that whatever he will make me write in future, I should first understand and experience it first. I must write a book with experience and understanding. He granted my wish!

He explained to me further that he had to cut short my visit to Satopanth this time because of some old debt of my daughter towards her mother in a very distant life which had to be cleared. I had to give her an opportunity to save me and thus relieve her of her karmic debt She was estranged with her mother in that particular life. The relations had to be reformed and corrected and the whole drama of life and death was re-enacted this time. As for me, he took one last test to check if He put me in the most annoying, life threatening and arduous situation, will I lose my trust and confidence in Him or not. He was testing me hard.

Well, honestly not once did I think that Babaji was doing anything unreasonable with me even in the most trying situation. But I failed to understand why and what exactly was he doing and pleaded that nothing untoward should happen to us as my Guru’s name would get tarnished in the family. His honour was my honour after all. I was recalling the incident of one chela, disciple as mentioned in Autobiography of a Yogi who was thrown from a cliff top from the mountains of the Himalayas as he could not be accepted as a disciple of Babaji in the current life because of karmic pressure. So he threw himself only to be brought back by the other disciples and a new life was injected in him instantly by Babaji by inducting new life force. *

The five kilometres area around Badrinath is very highly spiritually charged. Badrinath is the place where everyone has to come to attain the highest Samadhi- Brahma Samadhi. Boganathar, Agastya Maharishi, Adi Shankaracharya and some more had to come here to attain the highest state of Spiritual knowledge and bliss. It is the world’s most dynamic and spiritually vibrated holy place.

Today when everything has got over and calm has returned, I realize that if I hadn’t chosen to carry out all the directives of my Guru obediently over the whole year like a lamb, I would not have undergone a sea change metamorphosis internally as well externally. The major changes or the metamorphosis that I am speaking about are those I have been craving for a very long time, they did not come about since the past ten years or so. Such is the seizing power of our intricate karmas and their closures! But nevertheless, Babaji helped me all along these years with extreme patience and adroitness. I also wonder at this stage at the latest revelation of incredible amount of patience that I have cultivated over the years and the insatiable drive I possess to be excelling myself.

There are none among us who are not battling some of these problems – they may be one’s personal, professional, familial or some social or even concerning spiritual success for that matter. There are also environmental issues we need to attend to. We cannot solve several of our matters fully by ourselves because of lack of divine insight. Short-sightedness in us comes from absence of divine wisdom. Divine wisdom is achieved, we untie our grip and the cover of delusive Maya, the deluding Force in nature from our minds. The power and extent of this deluding Maya is so intense and grave that even if we recognize it and begin to work on it for its removal with the help of a highly Self realized Guru, even then the whole process might take many lives! But if our karmas are of the highest order, pious and self-giving and both the disciple and the Guru are both equally keen and ready to face anything without being hesitant, the process of removal of entire cover of dark ignorance in one’s mind begins. It initiates only after we give our petition and a consent is given by God.

It requires a lot of force inside and outside in the teacher and the disciple even to initiate and then to proceed this whole process of complete removal and disintegration of Maya or lack of knowledge or avidya. Just a few would wish to initiate and take this step because first the desire or Ichcha Shakti, which is the power of one’s will in the seeker, has to be very concentrated and genuine.

It should not wither or wilt in the long operation as it is time consuming. Once God accepts the petition of the seeker, all the nature’s forces abide faithfully when the schooling and learning is on. Whatever it takes to clear the muck outside one’s surrounding or settings in our lives; come what may, it will be cleared even though the whole procedure may be very tiring and toll-taking. The real procedure starts when the Guru will order the disciple to take some drastic or arduous actions happily and unquestioningly. The disciple should have enough courage and foresight to understand that there is nothing unworthy that the Guru will ask him/her to do and finally when the series of actions or long drawn instructions are over, the force of the tight grip of complicated karmas of the past would finally be released. These are the tremendously deeply buried seeds of unexpressed karmas of our very first or second human incarnation ever! If ever we are able to touch upon this level of recovery, then the arrival of the divine rays of blazing knowledge or Prabhutava Gyan from the Universal God dawns in us!!!

The withdrawal of the last film of Maya or ignorance from the innermost recess of one’s mind initiates the beginning of Prabhutva Gyan.

What happens when we get such blazing knowledge?

We do not forget God at all and the awareness of His presence, the unity and the adherence is of the highest order.

While in Teevra intense knowledge, the memory is dim and the fogginess returns if the pressures of arrival of past forceful karmas are overwhelming in dire circumstances.

In Prachand gyan, the very intense knowledge state, the seeker is more stable yet the consciousness and mindfulness may stagger or the sadhak may be bogged down by the ensuing situations. It is God who decides on the basis of our performing actions and deeds whether we are eligible and can take a step forward or not. The tests and the consent become harder to accomplish as we move up after intense knowledge or Prachand Gyan. Therefore do pious deeds, keep your heart unselfish and have endless faith in your Holy Guru.

In the highest state or Prabhutva Gyan come what may, the sadhak has never-failing faith, reverence and unconditional love for both – his mentor, guide and Guru all rolled into one and the ever loving and benevolent God. He/she at last tastes directly the God’s love. It is unconditional and unfailing towards him/her and therefore all the tiredness, disappointment and uncertainty which was lingering cast away! A new journey begins; a journey with new life and new Light!!

To be continued…..
